The Mathew’s/DuBois love fest has to end! It’s time to play modern football! I’m an option guy at heart, but it’s becoming obsolete in anything above 2A-D1. It may’ve worked at Haley Field. It did…! VISD needs to get serious about football or squander kid’s want to and ability every year, it’s there! Look around the state, there are schools exactly like OUrs playing real football at a very high level, not 5/5 or 4/6 and getting *b*slapped in the 1st rd and calling it a good season. Look, I’ve heard the excuses and I could go on and on…. But right now, there’s not enough canvas in America to cover this circus!

I don’t think Lumberton is bad at all and after these 2 games they played they should be mentioned in the conversation on winning their district, respectfully. Their defense is great, just lacking offense production.

Really surprised by this score. I thought this was a pretty even game. Dayton should have a chance for playoffs if they can stay healthy.

Just a little. But given the fact that Nederland beat WO-S, that game last week doesn't make Lumberton look all that bad. Also, I was told WB didn't play that well. Played down a bit.

My takeaways from last nights game: Nederland definitely took a step forward from the previous week’s performance. That’s all you can really ask for at this stage in the season. Keep improving each week and by the time district and the games that really matter come around, you are playing really good football. Nederland outplayed WOS for three quarters and then we started playing not to lose. Play calling became ultra conservative and really put the stress on our defense. I get it and I’m not questioning the coaching staff, but that can invite unnecessary trouble. Nederland played a cleaner game, made plays when they had to, and mastered the “bend but don’t break” defense. WOS didn’t make the plays when they needed to and discipline on both sides cost the mustangs a lot of yards. WOS cleans that up and they execute just a little better and they are going to be fine. Great early test for both teams and onwards and upwards from here.

WB only beating Lumberton by 16 is not surprising to you..?

The two surprises to me was Livingston beating Needville and Liberty playing a one point game with Splendora. Everything else was pretty much chalk.

Only played the first half - KP player took him out with a personal foul ' to the helmet when he was almost on the turf( I think he will be OK) Dayton has a decent team but not whole lot of depth QB ( coaches son) lit KP up.If we stay healthy we can be dangerous. Secondary needs to tighten up. GO Broncos!

Gotta play better defensively, specifically secondary, in order for that to happen next week versus Hightower at home. 💪🏾

Even ex liberty hill coach Kent Walker (now with blanco) has figured out the slot-T has ran its course. He is transitioning slowly into other formations

Vidor might as well give up the slot T/wing t thing and just run a normal offense. You can’t run a Liberty Hill-style offense without Liberty Hill’s execution and discipline. Vidor’s never been at that level. They could, but they haven’t yet.

The point is Kilgore throttled Vidor 66-6 last year and that it wiuld be worse this year. The program is sinking deeper and deeper. A coach with a 117-124 career record was able to tell the superintendant to hire his best friend as his replacement . In order to keep Vidor in the slot-T which averages around 5 wins a year. Low standards

They running back was hurt majority of last year. Foster is a baller.

That's the difference between district championship teams and non DC contender teams. staying healthy is everyone's agenda, injuries will come rather you play better or worse teams, it's a gamble in the game and you hope for the best. Can't play the bottom/middle of the barrel and expect to be the cream.
