PNG will rattle this QB with their blitzes!

I haven't posted anything in quite a while a while, but checking out the state playoff brackets I noticed something. Given that the southeast Texas teams in 5A D2 8 are now in region 2 instead of region 3 the following is highly unlikely but theoretically possible: Say PNG (since they are the furthest east of the 5A D2 8 teams) wins region 2 and a miracle happens in region 1 and an El Paso team wins region 1. You could have 2 teams well over 800 miles apart playing in the state semifinal game. Even if it were a team (still unlikely) from Amarillo it would be over 700 miles or Lubbock over 600 miles. It would also be unlikely but theoretically possible that the semifinal game for regions 3 and 4 could be 2 teams from San Antonio, literally a few miles apart. Just another interesting probably irrelevant observation for your consideration....

I agree but we also played some 3A teams with the same result.

I agree that it’s not an ideal job but I’m sure there are coaches out there that can get something out of our boys and at least field a competitive team. Don’t have to win a lot but at the very least be competitive.

Yep, bad for everyone. Takes a special type of coach to take a job in Tarkington. Low on the pay scale for the area, terrible resources and no end in sight.

Silsbee has played one Slot T (Vidor) and one Wing T (Shepherd).

Sweeny looks like Shepherd but may have a little more speed. Silsbee has played 2 slot teams this year and won.

Well they got one….thats about all that can be said about it. The sad thing is that it’s the kids that suffer.

United will not be the underdog in this game. Pretty sure they are ranked higher. This will be the tightest of all the games, but United will complete the sweep. Goodluck BU
