  1. Past hour
  2. Is Gus really the best we could do for this game?
  3. They were cutting onions on the GameDay set. End of an era
  4. Yes OF has two of the three best players in the District and was always going to win this game. WV lost several key players from last year. No one should have though WV would beat OF in this game if they knew the rosters.
  5. Good....morale should be killed after that atrocious performance (or lack there of) last night!
  6. It’s def over….I said this after the Westlake loss last year! That 2025 class was the last group to have a chance to bring NS another championship. Their freshman classes over the last couple years have been atrocious.
  7. Woodville has a Rough crowd. Woodville give this new coach a chance. Look at us…. We lost the first few games last year & everyone was gathering the pitch forks , now they are getting crow. look at WOS, came back & beat Newton with the same coaching staff as last year. your not helping the coaches & your killing the kids morale.
  8. [Hidden Content] Excellent summary of the game here plus a few stats.
  9. Today
  10. Yep 60 is the minimum and thats if there's no running clock.....
  11. The Falcons are kind of a shell of past glory years. Hopefully the new coach can get them turned around again. That's a great offensive explosion for the first game ether way. Impressive win Wildcats!
  12. OF's a good team but the game shouldn't have gone that way
  13. Yea they're likely to put up 60 plus on woodville
  14. Okay let's pump the brakes people. WV is trash. It's not like OF is world beaters lol...
  15. It's coaching man. Simple and plain. I know you like to defend the coaches but it is what it is.
  16. Quick clip of the effects at the game. [Hidden Content]
  17. Hitchcock has a very good team this year. I don't think I can gauge Anahuac off of this game.
  18. About the spread I expected. But, I expected a lower score. LP was sloppy early. All the hype of the new stadium, the heated rivalry, the new DC coming on in June, and a little different O scheme probably all impacted play for the first quarter. Deer Park also looks to have a little better club than what experts predicted. Their Soph QB is a load, and runs the zone read really well behind their big OL. Give them a few games to gel, and Coach Flynn will have them fighting Dickinson for the title in 24-6A. From about the 2nd Quarter on, you could see LP start to settle down and get their act together. Was impressed they could make up the 17 point hole, and just steadily take control of the game. I thought the penalties that caused them to miss the TD at the end of the 2nd Quarter and take a lead at half would be a problem. But, they outscored the Deer 35-14 from the 2nd Quarter on. Defense will need to tighten up on the edge contain. That should work itself out as the new DC gets more in tune with the players, and has a little more time to work with them. Also, too many attempted arm tackles. That needs some work. First game though. I'm sure it will be a focus. Saenz showed his maturity checking down to hit secondary receivers on a couple pass plays for good yards. Ruffin pulled extra duty as the second RB (he used to be a RB) with quickness to burn, and still played his LB spot. I don't know actual yardage, but I estimate he had around 150 yards & 2 TD's. One was a 60 yard TD reception I think. Simon had an early strip fumble as LP was driving on their first series. After that, he 'checked into the game', and was exactly as expected. I estimate he had almost 250 yards rushing and 2 TD's. All-in-all, good game to build off of, and definitely things to work on before another very big test against a Kingwood squad that blanked Clear Creek 38-0. LP needs to enjoy this win, but gear up for a new week against another probable 6A PO contender.
  19. Bc over buna. Classical upset against a state ranked opponent. Lcm struggled,Lumberton toe to toe with nederland bc wins district. Lumberton fights for 2 spot.
  20. Key word demolish - and that includes demolishing WV (this year). Of course Newton has owned their district but it will be on another level this year!
  21. Good start EC !!!! Hope slinger holds up to his name every game. LOL
  22. I’m just saying.. if any one single person is missing from last year’s team (especially if it was an impact player), then the team is different. Even it’s the same exact players, the team is different. Everybody grows and offseasons differently from one year to the next. That’s including opponents. And to imply that it “should” be a certain way because of something that happened several years in the past, or even a year ago, is a little… dumb. Always take into consideration that a lot changes from year to year. For every team/player/coach. Don’t ever assume the characteristics are identical. They’re not.
  23. Yes, 1985 Yates = 5A (biggest classification at the time). 3A teams are very seldom better than the best of the large schools. If you know nothing of 1985 Yates, you are likely not versed on high school football in Texas.
  24. OF lost several from last year as well. We just simply didn't put the right guys on the field defensively. Offensively the OLine struggled as expected but not having the right guys on D made it super easy for OF. They ran through our front line like a wet paper bag and it's mostly because we didn't have the right guys out there
  25. They didn’t lose anything to graduation from last year? Opposing teams haven’t gotten a year older/stronger/faster ? Opposing coaches haven’t also changed staffs or been exposed to different preparatory programs? No.. A TON has changed. As does everywhere.
  26. Couple of things of note. Defense, especially against the run, is stout this year. Secondary had a few miscues, namely from the one Sr. CB that got burnt a few times. I think he made up for it with the game sealing interception though. Our passing game needs serious work. We have guys that can catch and we have probably the best WR in the district but we have subpar qb plan and subpar plays called in passing situations. Well, we have 3 more games to fix this issue. Let’s see if this coaching staff will figure it out. I was really impressed with our running game. #1 and #22 will be huge this year. Finally, on special teams, we need help in the kicking game. The kid that’s kicking extra points will need some serious work. Other than that, it was good to see a win on the road and with horrible refing. Look forward to checking the Wolves out next week.
  27. Definitely aren’t losing in the regular season unless god forbid an injury or two happens.
