Teams like Buna need to realize that they need to leave the Little League antics behind and realize that it makes them look like they have no sportsmanship. I am not sure why coaches let that continue. Play baseball and shut up!
I wouldn't consider it unsportsmanlike. I know it was incredibly obnoxious and I'm not sure how the coach handles it every game, but I also think hf was too quiet. The dugout was dead silent until the seventh inning. I know back when I played there was at least one guy ripping your @$$ if you weren't talking.
Truth!
That's part of the dugout's job is to get into the other team's head.  I know my coach made me get up on the mound and had the rest of the team lined on either side and told them to say whatever they wanted and do whatever to mess me up while I threw to the catcher.  All it takes is concentration.

The behavior from the Buna dugout is described as taunting.  Their opponent will always be provoked and Buna is putting a target on their back.  It is surprising that a high school coach would allow such behavior.
And they have abuncha angels over in hf.  ::)        I played for the Buna coach and I know what he is about and what the whole mentality of Buna Athletics is RESPECT....We teach that early on up here....they are simply playing baseball...nothing else.....you should be embarassed by the way you are bashing that kid...he is the next big product to come out of Buna.
I should be embarassed by bashing that kid??  My above post does not mention any kid.  I was referring to the constant heckling, yelling, barking, etc coming from the dugout through 7 innings.
Excuse me. I was not referring to you bashing the kid. Just your fellow posters. And evidently they are doin a good job getting in people's head. I mean dang they have gotten in the fans heads...I can only imagine what their opponents must be thinking... ;D
Each dugout should be rooting on their team, but, there is a difference between loud cheering and obnoxious noise.  As a fan its just not enjoyable to listen to regardless of what side your sitting on.  I come to enjoy the game and listen to the sounds of baseball......the crack (or ping) of the bat, the ball popping the mitt, etc.......all that dugout noise made me feel like I was at Chuck E Cheese.

buna will be fine next year in 3a and the Franklin kid will be in the top 3 best players in the dist. he might even be the best one in the dist as a fresh andd he is better than any kid on the hf team right now too
So are you saying that this freshman would be the best player in 21-3a right now? Because I think Bridge City's 3 D1 signees might have something to say about that.

All the noise from the dugout has become so normal that most pitchers have just learned to ignore it!  Fans will just have to learn to do the same, because UIL is not going to rule on it anytime soon.  We throw bullpens with guys standing around the pitcher yelling at him.  Not really, but good idea!

very valid point.
this kid has noticeable talent at 15, that's for sure, let's wish him the best and see what happens at 16,17, and so on.

Easy now big fella!! Those are mighty big words for a variety of reasons.

1. Heaping praise like this on a young player is not fair by any stretch. These young players put enough pressure on themselves without anyone else adding to the mix.

2. I know the Buna faithful are excited about the young freshman but you also have to be somewhat realistic as well. There are some very talented players in the district and many of them are underclassmen as well. I'm sure the young man in question will be a good player for years to come but to elevate him to the status of top 3 in the district is not only a stretch but also a misinformed statement. To be completely honest if was in 21-3A now he would probably be one of the top 3 freshman in the district but not top 3 players and that's not a knock on him at all because he is a legit player for sure. It just reflects how deep the overall talent, especially young talent, is in the district.

3. There is no doubt the younger players that Coach is playing will be the cornerstones of the Buna baseball program for years to come, these young men can play and it's very clear there is amazing support and excitement from the Cougar fans. As long as that excitement is tempered with good judgement the sky is the limit.

Lets all just step back, take a deep breath, and enjoy some good baseball.

Good luck going forward.

Im still in shock that he said he is better than any player on HF teams right now simmer down dad. He would be on varsity and he would be in the pitching rotation but that is a really solid young team that H-F has and there are several players on that team that have a good chance of playing at the next level that deserve the title of best player on Hamshire's team but I will say this I would def take that freshman on my team any day.

Well in all honesty I didn't want to. Guess it is a little late for that. But I will say I am looking forward to the next game in orangefield. I'm not sure the time or day but I'll be there. Both teams are very talented. I don't really like the noise that comes from Bunas dugout, but I respect it bc it is part of the game. I do also respect the freshmen mentioned for stepping up after a tough loss and trying to give it his all. But I was also there when it "looked like" he tried to step on out lead off after a pass ball whether it was intentional or not idk. I'm not going to accuse him. But once again the kid is good in my opinion everyone should stop trying to hype him up and let him just show his stuff on the field. Good luck hope to watch another good game hopefully my old group of horns can kick into gear early and stop waiting til the seventh.
