2. It depends on what you mean by "quit". If the kid was working hard and legitimately trying to play a different sport why is that a bad thing? The kid shouldn't be punished for legitimately trying to play a different sport. I think high school athletes should try to play as many sports as they want. It will be the last time in their lives that most of them play sports competitively. No reason to encourage a kid to only play one sport unless he has a clear future in that sport. It doesn't really matter if the kid is playing baseball, football, or whatever else as long as the kid is working hard. Now if the kid quit intentionally to skip football workouts and slack off then that's a different story. I don't know the whole story so I can't really say what should be done.
 3. I think it's ok. I'm pretty sure Adam Dunn paid for New Caney's baseball field.
Yes there is.  Most of the haters are fans of schools that got their tails whooped by SC last year.  It will only get worse as SC plows through district 19 again. We have a really talented team this year on offense. Defense is d big question mark. I predict another undefeated season n district championship. 11.
Gray had a great game and that kid is legit. But to come on here and say the only reason that your team lost was cause your QB got hurt. Well that seems like a slap in the face to the other players on the team. Starting to sound a bunch like the Liberty folks with all the reasons why.
I didn't say it was the only reason Huffman lost. Huffman's defence played pretty bad as well. I said if Townley played the whole game Huffman would've won. Townley was 8-11 for 103 yards in the 1st quarter before he got hurt. You can't tell me he wouldn't have made a difference.

I think they beat Huffman!!! Tarkington is going to be much improved and the only team in our district that is a for sure bet is Coldspring!!!!! I see the district being a pretty tight race for more than a few teams.
Yes, they beat Huffman's freshman 3rd string QB.
The other 21 players didn't show up?? I Love Bone Headed Excuses!!!!!!
Please. ::) Huffman had a Sr. QB who led a very pass heavy offense,  he got hurt. They had to put in a Fr. 3rd string QB who had no experience, because the backup QB who was also a WR was injured a couple of weeks earlier.  If Townley played the gave Huffman would've won. The game didn't matter though,  Huffman still went to the playoffs and Shepherd didn't.
Whats were the 9th grade QB stats from that game? Just asking....
5-14, 51 yards, 2 tds, 3 ints, 2 carries -11 yards
Yeah, i would have put Gray in and let him run wildcat all night long, zone-read/jet sweep.  ;D
Gray still had a great game 137 yards rushing and 104 receiving (most came before Townley got hurt) with 2 tds. Probably one of the only reasons the game was still close.

 14.
I guess that is your side of the story, tell it the way you want to. My point is that no team in that district other than Coldspring is going to be that much better than the next. But this year Coldspring is not that "unbeatable" as they have been. Huffman is always a good team and Cleveland is up and down. But the "Bottom Teams" are not that far behind.
I don't think anyone is "unbeatable" especially this year, but there is a still significant talent difference between the top 3 teams (CS, Huffman, and Cleveland) and everyone else in this district.

They say he may be pitching in thr big league by July!
They didn't say that, Harold Reynolds did.  ;) I could see him getting a Sept. call up just to get his feet wet. No need to rush him with the current team. Not much difference between 100 losses or 105 losses.
Exactly,  if we're going to suck, might as well do it the right and go for the 1st pick. ;) Damn Marlins. >:(
 18.
Astros drafted him. They say he may be pitching in thr big league by July!
I am so happy with this pick. Appel was cleary the most talented player in this draft. I doubt he'll be up in July tho. There's no reason to bring him up. Let him develop a little first Drafting Appel this year maked last years draft that much better. We were able to get the depth out of last years draft and still got the best player in either draft as well.

I would rather they go with Appel from Stanford. Seems like a stand up guy and a solid pitcher to boot.
They passed on Appel last year and everyone has them taking Gray now.  I wonder if there is something the Astros don't like about Appel besides the fact he wanted a truckload of money last year.
Based on the pending sale of the club at teh time, I'm betting it was the huge contract request. From a personal standpoint, I would pass on Gray due to the failed drug test. There are enough "arms" available that are doing the right things.
Last year they offered Appel $6 million,  which was over $1 million below slot. Appel turned it down and fell to the 8th pick. This year it looks that Appel may be more reasonable.  I wanted them to draft Appel last year and he has only improved this year. He his far and away the best and most polished pitcher in this draft. He is the only pitcher in this years or last years draft that projects to have 3 60+ pitches and he has great command and control. A lot of people love the draft strategy last and even I have come around a bit (especially if we get Appel anyways), but this year draft is not very deep in talent. Last year we needed to add depth to our farm system and Luhnow has done a great job of doing that since he's got here. The farm system went from one of the worst to 9th on the preseason ranking, but we are still lacking in top of the line prospects, essentially front of the rotation type pitchers. Appel would be a great addition. If they don't draft him, I will be disappointed. [Hidden Content]

West Sabine's returning players including Nick Williams at RB and slide Twine is Lacy's spot at QB and it's off to the races. Falls City sounds like a much better option (from an HD/1A D-I Region III opponent perspective lol)
Not for a guy that participates in all sports and is pursuing baseball.
I just meant so Hull-Daisetta doesn't have to face Twine/Williams and West Sabine early in the Reg III football playoffs this coming season. Actually the kid can do what he wants. He's been under the microscope since his ridiculous sophmore football season. He may not even play football with the baseball talent Having a great baseball season as a senior could be the difference in him going to play college baseball or being a high enough draft pick and getting a big enough signing bonus to go straight to the minors and skip college. Looking at it from a pure athletic standpoint (not considering family, friends, family finances, pride, academics and his competitive nature ect.), i think his best bet would be to go to a 4A or 5A school with a solid baseball program that competes against the best competition in the state. That would give scouts a little bit of a better barometer as opposed to him killing 1A or 2A opponents. College scholarship is already a lock, so now he's playing for a high draft slot. Although AAU, Select ball, and combines are what gets kids to the next level now, even more success against high calibur opponents can do nothing but help. Just my opinion.
It doesn't matter where he plays. Most pro baseball scouts see kids on thier select teams and I believe Twine still plays for the Banditos, which is a great organisation. Barring injury he will probably be taken in the 1st 2 rounds next year regardless of where he is playing high school ball. If he wants to move then he should do it, but I don't think it would improve his draft stock.
 23. I'll take North Carolina, but Florida State, Virginia, and NC State all have a chance as well.
 24.
I believe this is a rumor, however I just hope that he is finally able to be a high school teenager and have the opportunity to just "play" ball and enjoy his last year of high school.  He deserves that!
The kid is a top football recruit and a legit 1st round mlb draft prospect.  I'm sure he is enjoying every minute of high school life. ;)
