I've been telling you guys, they quit when the going gets tough. All that "d1" talent lays down a gets walked on. the coaching is terrible, players attitudes are terrible, programs terrible. If you think tonight's bad, wait until the fallout starts next week. It gonna be real bad.
Smh. If you don't think Liberty has a few d1 players, well that speaks for itself. I don't think they laid down, they just got beat down. Probably got tired of running the same plays over and over.. and over. When you're down 42-7 and your coach keeps running, I bet it's hard to keep your morale up. Liberty only attempted 5 passes tonight, hopefully this is the year they fire deel and find a real coach. He lost the players the first game of the season. Don't misconstrue my comments, huffman was/is the better team, by miles and miles. PERIOD. Side note, I wouldn't get to arrogant.. you guys will have your day soon enough.
[ftp][/ftp] I'm not arrogant at all, you know where island on all of this. Those guys quit tonight. Everyone in the stadium saw that. BTW there is not one d1 player on Libertys roster, not one. If be surprised if there was a single d2 player. We will reconvene and disuss this point after signing day in Feb. I'll be right, you'll be wrong.  ;)
One serious question though. If liberty is so terrible, why is everyone about to have a screaming o over beating them? It's like this anytime they lose. Makes no sense.
As long as Liberty fans continue to predict district championships durring 7 on 7 season then people will continue to rub it in they're face whenever they lose.

Sure.
Here is the rehash of the same argument that was made earlier. They don't care what you did in high school. They look at speed, size, and strength. And at the end of the day if they think you can play they will offer.
I agree, and also at the end of the day none cares about whether or not your QB goes to college, only that he won or lost and made the playoffs or did not make the playoffs.
You can not blame a season on one player. Huffman has better supporting roles than liberty does Fitz was a great QB on an average team, where as Townleyt was a better than average qb on an above average team.
Fitz's stats in district 93-143 65% 1641 16td 4int Townley's stats in district 142-212 67% 1728 21td 6int That along with Huffman making the playoffs is why Townley was AD and Fitz was HM.
Townley had a better completion % (close); Townley had more yardage (again, close); the TD to Int ratio is also very close:  so where is the argument that Fitz should have been selected ahead of Townley?
There isn't one. Some of the Liberty fans feel that because Fitz is the better college prospect he should've been first team AD. Well the coaches go by what they see and stats not who the better prospect is.
So Once again Townley played better that night and arguably played better throughout district, which is why the coaches voted him 1st team all district, but everyone knows that Fitz is the better college prospect.
Fitz is and was the better quarterback, football player, athlete, passer, everything. He's flat out better, Townley was voted because his team won more games not because he was better, and he wasn't as big a part of you guys victory as Fitz was to ours.
Townley was all 1st team all district because his stats were better and because he won. If winning was the only thing that mattered then Scott would've been 1st team.  Townley was also a pretty dang big part of the team, we saw what happened when he got hurt in the Navasota game.
Daniel Fitzwater 139 213 65.26 2365 23 5 Preston Townley 198 329 60.18 2547 29 13 Stats were even, Fitz's was arguably better.. Huffman finished 9-3 Liberty finished 7-3... not much difference.
I don't know either of these 2 qb's, but Fitz's stat's look better to me. 65% completion rate to 60%, only 6 more TD's and less than 200 yds difference on 100 more attempts and 5 int's to 13, not big differences but definately in Fitz's favor
Liberty played an incredibly easy pre-district schedule last year. If you compare stats in district (where everyone is playing the same teams) then Townley's stats are better.
 3.
How is Huffmans defense this year. I know last year they had a nasty good D-line. Along with a secondary player who could lay a hat.
Imo the D is not as good as last year, but they are still pretty solid. They gave up alot of yards to GP and St. Thomas, but they have also been without their leading defender. It will be interesting to see how they perform in district.
 4.
Where was all that coaching when the Rattlers shut ya'll down?    ;)  Cleveland will give ya'll a run for your money this year.....
Doesn't really matter how good your coaching is when you are playing a team that is extremely talented and has a great coach (I believe he is the brother of the North Carolina head coach). Navasota is just too good this year, I will be very surprised if they lose a game all year.
 5.
That was after Kelly had already won district, the game that mattered they won 44-27. The reason I posted is because neither team is new. Pius was on tv and Thomas plays Huffman and now people recognize Tapps and Kelly's district opponents. You should have seen St. Pius' teams 2,3 and 4 years ago. There was a reason Kelly was 4-1 predistrict playing local opponents and lost 6 district games a few years ago. As far as the team this year, new coaching and a lot of new players , who knows ?
Well last year the TAAPS state finalist Kelly lost to Liberty a team that couldn't even make the playoffs in a weak 3a district. BTW this thread is not about Kelly, so idk why you brought it up.
 6.
Kelly beat Thomas and Pius last year with an undersized line.
Kelly lost the 2nd game vs a 6 loss ST.Thomas team last year 34-7, but anyway that was last year lets see how Kelly does against St. Thomas this year ;).
 7.
Also Huffman had a starting linebacker out since 1st quarter GP which hasnt helped. But yea that Thomas line dominated both ways.
I thought he must have been out, because I didn't hear his name all night. Hope he is back soon it won't be easy to replace an all state defender.
 8.
Wasn't Huffman's defense supposed to be loaded this year?
I don't know about loaded, but they are a very good team especially on offense. St Thomas is a excellent team they are 4-0 and are picked to beat St. Pius. From what I heard last night it sounded like St. Thomas was just too big for us, they pushed us around on both sides of the ball all night, and the defense which is pretty ypung this year has been prone to giving up big plays. So Huffman is still a very good team imo and we still have our best chance in a while to beat Coldspring. We should be fine come playoff time. As for Galena Park they have struggled in recent years, but we will find out how good they are next week when they play Friendswood.
 9.
what in the world has happened the past 2 weeks?
What you mean?
 10.
Final?
I think it was 52-28.
 11.
Also listening. About to throw my water bottle at the monitor. Sounds like Thomas' secondary is good. Gave Townley his first two picks of the year. And Parker White of St. Thomas sounds like a beast. He'll go D1 for sure by the sounds of it.
Yeah Huffman's D is getting dominated by St. Thomas right now. They are moving the ball at will up and down the field.
 12. TD Huffman on a muffed punt by St. Thomas. 21-21 with 5 min left 2nd.
 13. Broadcasters said Townley had 165 yards passing in the 1st quarter :o.
 14.
fanatic, how much bigger are the St. Thomas guys than Huffman's?
Not at the game, but the broadcasters have said that atleast 2 of their lineman have D1 offers.
 15. 20 yard TD reception by Chase Harrel. 14-14 with 11 min left in the 2nd.
