We may never be able to compete against WOS and Silsbee but you never know. It is a game and you never can tell whats going to happen in a game with kids playing!!!! As for the parents out there tell your kid to play as hard as they can and never give up!!! As for all you transplants that have moved in get on board or go back to where you came from!!! My question to you is why did you choose to move in our area? Why didn't you stay in your hometown? GO HORNS!!!!!!!!
Being an HF resident and longhorn supporter I can say I don't agree with this thought process.  We are a small community and I personally believe all families, transplant and local, are vital to our community thriving. We should never push anyone away.  You ask why did they choose to move in our area?  I say, why not?
And they have abuncha angels over in hf.  ::)        I played for the Buna coach and I know what he is about and what the whole mentality of Buna Athletics is RESPECT....We teach that early on up here....they are simply playing baseball...nothing else.....you should be embarassed by the way you are bashing that kid...he is the next big product to come out of Buna.
I should be embarassed by bashing that kid??  My above post does not mention any kid.  I was referring to the constant heckling, yelling, barking, etc coming from the dugout through 7 innings.
Excuse me. I was not referring to you bashing the kid. Just your fellow posters. And evidently they are doin a good job getting in people's head. I mean dang they have gotten in the fans heads...I can only imagine what their opponents must be thinking... ;D
Each dugout should be rooting on their team, but, there is a difference between loud cheering and obnoxious noise.  As a fan its just not enjoyable to listen to regardless of what side your sitting on.  I come to enjoy the game and listen to the sounds of baseball......the crack (or ping) of the bat, the ball popping the mitt, etc.......all that dugout noise made me feel like I was at Chuck E Cheese.

He and a couple of other freshmen could have helped HF's team, but instead of embracing and aceepting them, they would rather discredit and alienate any player who may take away from their playing time. This is the nature of HF boys athletics and that is why they continue to struggle year after year and the good athletes go to other schools.
Ky is the ONLY freshman that would have made the Longhorn Varsity this year if he would have stayed.  Right now they are playing pretty well, and getting the basketball kids will only help them.  We all know how Ky is doing at PNG but have yet to hear about these other "good" athletes...how is Cam doing at Vidor, what team is he on?
I heard Cam quit.....walked right off the field during practice and quit
 5. Topic is most strikeouts thus far........................Get back on the topic!!!!!!!!

Thanks
I was at the H-F Buna game and I clocked both pitchers.  I had the Buna pitcher at Low 80's and HF at high 70's.  It was a close game and HF pulled it out.  However I was slightly disappointed with HF's performance, they were lacking the tenacity needed to put the game away early.  I believe the pitching at HF has steadily declined since the dominant "Phillip Lynch Era".
Steadily declined? Johnson had a no no going through 6? Jeffcoat threw a no no Thursday Johnson had 8k's Jannise had 9 k's Tuesday against Lumberton and herring shut down cold springs Jeffcoat Jannise and herring all threw complete games n johnson could have had he not been in basketball and had some previous mound time all of these pitchers getting the W which is all that matters so how can you say it's declining
No need to get worked up Mr. Gamble, I agree, you guys played and pitched well. That still does not change the fact that the pitching has steadily declined. I was not singling out HF I was referring to pitching throughout setx
Your not referring to pitching in setx, you are singling out HF..... you said "I believe the pitching at HF has steadly declinded since the dominant.......(your son) Era.  Your a longhorn....shame on you.

 11.
For all the little johnny parents out there. Here is a hint to make you feel better. When you have a kid like Kendrick on your high school team, you better hope and pray your kid has put in the work when the opportunity comes. Guess what?  Scouts will be in the stands watching players like Kendrick. Guess what? If "little johnny" is truly ready, he will be seen by a college scout. So, don't beat the hand that may feed you.
EXACTLY!!!!  Very true.
 12. ??? I would also like to know where the 2A information came from
 13. If a player moves to another school at the end of the semester (december), is he eligible to play baseball this season for the new school?
