Think GCM is too deep and strong to be challenged for the district title. My opinion, Jacobs should contribute to U of H immediately upon arrival. Has any of the other GCM kids committed besides Jacobs?

Merka in football last year was undefeated district champ and gets No supers as well!  :o :o.  this year gets 2nd team qb! WOW!!
Gabby is not only the most feared pitcher in 19 4A but is also batting .411. IMO he is MVP of district

[/quote]Like I said, It does not always work that way.  look at the majors.  the MVP usually is not on the one who wins the world series.  I think it should go to the most talented... that is why it is called MVP (Most Valuable PLAYER) not most valuable team..

[/quote]Not if you are from crosby.... like I said in football Crosby was district champs last year and Merka did not get any supers. but in baseball you are right. that seems to be the norm...  I just dont get it.... you would think the runers up would get one of the supers... (besides new comer of the year).  esp when gabby beat KP twice last year (district champs) GCM twice, GP, Barbershill twice one in district and non district. all the top dogs got a nothing agaist him...

You make some very valid points. I think(?) agree....because of the talent in 19-4A this year, IMO the MVP should come from the district champ this year. You've got a player or players from Crosby, GCM, and B. Lee that it would be hard to argue against being MVP...Just my 2 cents.

Not sure of their overall record, but GCM beat KP in their first meeting last year.  Finished 12-2. Not sure who else beat them.

Crosby Baseball 2009-2010 School year  -  Swept the District Champion KP Panthers, KP had to beat GCM in the last game of the year to be District Champs, and they did

2009-2010 19-4a baseball standing
1st    KP  12-2.  only losses were to crosby twice

2nd  Crsoby 11-3.  Losses to C.E King, GP, and BH
3rd  GP 10-4 Loses to Crosby, KP twice and i cant remember other, I think BH.
4th GCM and BH..    GCM won tie breaker game to go to playoffs

As for .411 batting avg not getting you a all drist.......  .411 puts you in the top 8.... and is the best pitcher in 19-4a....so all disrtict is a no brainer...
as for you claim of all these kids hitting over 500, only 3 kids in district are hitting over 500 with 20 ab...

Why is all the love going to the pitchers. Granted 19-4A has the best pitchers possibly in the State (with Gabby leading the way). Some love needs to go to the offensive side of the discussion. I can name name 4 kids that could take home the hardware:

Richards - North Forest    (0-4 last night)

Jacobs - GCM                (2-4, 3b & 2b last night)

Larkin  - CROSBY            (3-5, 2 HR's last night)

Hernandez - GP              (0-3, HBP last night)

In 2009 you had Co-MVPs that came from the 3rd and 4th place team in 19-4A. Mangum from Crosby and Short from C.E. King. And although both players were good, you had several players on the top 2 teams that were overlooked that were just as deserving if not more. You never know what's going to happen in that meeting with those coaches and all the differing opinions. I think there are always some surprises on the list.

[/quote] Larkin, is a good ball player with lots of heart.  But lets be real, first 2 homeruns of his HS career.  Has never been the hitter against the best teams in the district, and is the 2nd best hitter in the outfield on his own team.  There are still some games left too play, it will all play out soon.  Surprised not to see Hebert on your list since he has a higher avg and fielding percentage.  and if you are looking at hitting watch out for your own SS, seems to be coming around with the bat.
