Great performance by their pitching staff and defense.  That said the NCAA needs to do something go get the offense more involved.  Those bats are terrible.
Pitching and 'D". I am biased towards pitching, so I think it's great baseball.
I had LSU in the 'ship. Not looking so good thus far.
I had LSU winning it all.  :(
No doubt. This kid is a freakin beast. Hitting 95-96 on 100+ pitch and from the left side. Tough loss for Nola against UCLA.
The Astros need to get it together and start losing again.  Hopefully the Marlins can win some games and leave the #1 pick to Houston again.  Appel and Rodon at the top of your staff would be good for many years.
I agree...Although, Appel and Nola wouldn't be too shabby either.
Does andyone know  who Jacob have as a pitching coach?
Not sure....I have been told that his high school coach pitched in the St Louis organization.  Could be him.
 6.
Astros drafted him. They say he may be pitching in thr big league by July!
They didn't say that, Harold Reynolds did.  ;) I could see him getting a Sept. call up just to get his feet wet. No need to rush him with the current team. Not much difference between 100 losses or 105 losses.
 7. Jacob Howell-(Deweyville) could go in the later rounds.
 8. I am  hoping for Jonathan Grey. Adderal scares me much less than Scott Boras  ;). However, Appel has lost some leverage being a senior this year, surely negotiations will be somewhat easier.
 9. These kid is the real deal. Smart with a great family support system as well. He says all the right things in the interviews but I would be very surprised he if ends up in College Station....at least next year. I got him going in the 8 spot tonight.

 12.

News just in:  Thames will joined by teammates Tyler Beasley and Sam Hallen in the Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game at University of Houston on June 18th.  Congrats to Coach Denny these Eagles
Congrats to all. I thought the game was at Rice?
Always been at Rice in the past, not sure about this year. Congrats to these BH Eagles. Great job.
David Denny, Barbers Hill  ;)
 14.
Sweeny spanked out ever living tail a number of years back in 3A football playoffs.  We had a dang good team then too.  As TradnUp mentioned, not a 4A team.
Sweeney  has a great squad year and year out.
What is your point??... that was last year... Hearn did not play catcher last year as a freshman... Also Davenport was MVP last year... Does that mean he should have got it this year??? Davenport hit .456 this year in district and broke the strikeout record in the district with 104 K's (which was his from last year 89 K's).  And got 1st team pitcher this year.. Yea he was worthy of MVP again but did not get the votes.. No dought Thames had a better year..
Thames was a clear leader in the District:  Hit .560 and was 7-0 on the mound.
.560 not too shabby.  ;)
 16. Hitman, Do you know whose strikeout record Davenport broke, besides his own ? Or where I could find a listing of such ? Wishing Tyler all of the best at Texas State. I recruited him for the Houston Heat. He turned out to be a perfect fit. Great kid, great manners, great work ethic. We (Heat) all have nothing but great things to say about him. I expect him to have a very solid career in San Marcos.
Told ya, just not enough pitching depth.  Lose game 1 and it's trouble.  Great run though and we put 20-4A and Brenham out of it, which is really what matters..... ;D ;D ;D
They lost cause you came back to Texas. You gonna find "For Sale" signs in your front yard later on LOL
Now that' s funny. Just not enough pitching depth. Yet another great season by the BH Eagles ! Best of luck to our graduating seniors. To the underclassmen, come back next year hungrier than ever. Would  love to have seen Denny coaching the '07-08 team with Hales, Thamm, Silva, Kelley, and Burditt on the bump.
 18.
Foster gets back to back homers here in top of 4th, now lead 5-3, still batting.
Crap !
 19.
From what i have heard this is a 1 game series. I havent seen either team play so i was wondering who benefits the most from a 1 game series.
I believe it's a three-gamer, tonight, tomorrow, Sat.
 20. I am with Falcon, North Carolina.
 21.
Ump must have had a tight zone because both of those pitchers throw strikes and know how to pitch. Pettitte had 6 walks and Mills had 5 or 6..mix that will 10 strikeouts for Pettite and I think 6 or 7 for Mills and that adds up to a lot of pitches.  I do know that Dulles has a very deep staff so there was no need to keep Mills in after they scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to push the game to 7-3.
I was thinking the same thing.  What most thought would be a low scoring pitching duel, did not exactly turn out that way. I was surprised when I saw the box score and stats for this game. You are correct, Joebob.  Both of these kids know how to pitch and pound the strike zone. Joebob,  are you going to watch the BH/Foster series ?
 22. My question is......161 pitches in 7 innings, are you really throwing that well ? that's an avg of 23 per inning.
