  1. I'm a BH dad...with that said....All that I've been hearing...lot's of folks dismissing HF way too early...HF lost a ton of talent, besides JBagley...Listi is the real deal..Arnold can pitch in the "2" spot on many teams..Look for Schimt(?) to be a defensive leader. Oh, and Sipe is back....early, this looks to be an entertaining, competitive battle for the top 3 spots...With the unfortunate injury to Barrera, I still think it's 3 teams..HF, BH, and NC. What order...anybody's guess ???
  2. Great thread....The Barrera injury is a major blow to BH...BH has alot ( as most teams do ) some very talented if as of yet unheard of names.. HF lost many key players but yet still returns a very talented pitching staff, even with the departure of Bagley to San Jac. I coached the younger Schimdt kid in summer ball....he will be heard from this year..New Caney has produced a very competitive team for awhlie...this year, obviously it is led by Dean. BH has major talent..some unseen until now...My best guess...this district's top three spots belong to HF, BH, and NC... What order...anybody's guess !
  3. Sarge is correct..Pitching and defense not going to be a problem @ BH. If BH starts rolling the ball...look out !
  4. lot's of good hitters on that list. I agree..can't miss with Dishon and Calhoun...I'm biased so I'll include Ponder, Campbell, Townley on that list from BH.
  5. Strong class for BH will '07 and '08. With Barrera's unfortunate injury, BH will have their top 5 pitchers back next year...including both of the southpaws (Hales and Thamm )...Look for Cody Clifton (soph), Jared Baker (soph), and Hunter Silva (JR) too make lots of noise next year. Jonathan Kelly (JR tsfr from Milby) has the potential to add to the talent mix. Carmona and Ponder are locks. Carter Smith (Freshman) will also make his varsity debut. Freshman Michael Bounds ( all-around athelete ) out with broken ankle from basketball will be someone not to be ignored... and another Paggett(Michael's younger brother) can't be ignored. Kid has playing speed and basepath skills you just can't teach. That's just my two cents.
  6. Actually it was 5-2 BH in 12. Pitching and defense key to BH. Must hit better. The two southpaws were in midseason form...( BH threw 9 pitchers in 12 innings...) staff looks very deep based on this scrimmage.
  7. I agree with ElHector1....every school has a pitcher that apppears from under the radar...My money is on one of the lefties @ BH... By the way..Barrera is out for season...spoke to his parents tonight.. Tough blow for BH and CB...fortunately, if there is any positive....Chase is the type of kid who will work thru this and bounce back better than ever...great work ethic, great student, just truly a great kid with a great support system around him..family, teamates, and fans.
