  1. Thanks, HUPERnikomen....Finally I'm not thrashed for stating and honest, positive opinion.
  2. Good point about Hulsey from BH, Kooldad. Derrick has been pounding the ball as of late..As far as the Dewey kid from Dayton, my son played with him last year in a showcase...very impressed by his skills.
  3. I have a hunch that BH will see P.J. Dean in the 2nd matchup...S/Be Dean vs. Thamm for BH. Could possibly be for the district championship.
  4. Hey, Falconfanatic...not sure if this breaks website rules...How about a friendly wager...dinner ? If I'm out of line Coop and MIF04, my apologies. Should be a good game..Listi/Arnold vs. Hales/Thamm...batter up ! Let's hope the rain doesn't take this one. Good luck.
  5. I'm an Eagle dad...I can promise you that none of those comments came from BH players. We are playing "cliche baseball ", one game at a time and respecting every team we play. We have a group of kids with good character and grades. They can be loose and clown around at times but I haven't seen too much "smack" from these guys. We'll leave that to football and basketball.
  6. That's some pretty funny stuff guys.....but, man you talk about gettin' somebody riled up.
  7. Barbers Hill updated Colby Townley-6 Cameron Campbell-3 Jake Ponder-3 Derrick Hulsey-1 ( grand slam ) Tony Carmona-1 Jonathan Kelley -1 (grand slam )
  8. As a BH Eagle fan, I have to throw Hales and Thamm into the mix of many good combos in the area. For the season, Hales 22 IP, 39 K's, 6 walks, 0.00 ERA, 5-1 record For the season, Thamm 34 2/3 IP, 60 K's, 9 walks, 1.01 ERA, 4-0 record Flores and Harrington @ PNG aren't to shabby either.
  9. I like your 5-1 prediction. In 4 district games, BH has outscored opponents 61-5. ;D BH is currently ranked #6 in state in the Texas high School coaches poll. Last year Huffman faced Chase Barrera in game 2. I believe they did actually face Hales in game 1. This year's BH team is hitting the ball much better through out the entire lineup. I do believe Hales will be available, he did not throw any on Friday. Also, Thamm pitched only 3 innings Friday night ( 38 pitches ). All 4 BH pitchers should be available for this game. Hope to see a good, well played game.....with an eagle victory of course.
  10. 5 innings. Kendall Thamm 3 innings on the hill, 8 k's, 0 BB, 1 hit Jonathan Kelly very impressive 2 innings in relief. Plenty of hits from entire BH lineup. Derrick Hulsey with a grand slam. Jake Ponder goes yard for his 3rd of the year. Thamm improves to 4-0 on the season, 2-0 in district. Eagles now 14-3-1 and 3-0 in district play.
  11. BH...# 1 in the Middle SE TX sports ranking BH...# 2 in the SE Tx sports ranking .. and the "grandaddy" of them all..the" Rose Bowl" poll if you will... BH # 6 in 4A state. Still think..BC vs. BH would make a great series ! Yet again...only my biased two cent opinion !
  12. Harrison started the game and promptly walked the first 4 batters..Not sure who the second pitcher was...It was not P.J. Dean...he was at ss the entire game.
  13. Very tragic.. Our thoughts and prayers to Hemphill from the Barbers Hill community.
  14. Thanks, Coop. BH scored first 6 runs on 1 hit. NC pitchers walked 1st 5 batters and wild pitched in 2 more runs. Strange game..not what was expected. Ross Hales 5 inning complete game with 11-12 K's, 2-hitter. Hales struck out 10 in a row at one point. NC scored an unearned run in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Hales, Alex Rocha, and Derrick Hulsey good games at the plate.
  15. Atascocita continues to amaze me..They were given most of Humble High School's team. Unlike many new schools, who do not play a varsity schedule the first year or two, these guys jumped right in. They are a young team with zero seniors. The shutout against Westbrook was at least the 4th of the year for Atascocita, if not more.
  16. Great job MIF04.. Note on BH : Talk that I've heard is that BH made the jump to 4A ( which I was all for ) by a count of 13 students, which at the time included the Hurricane Katrina victims ( I believe there were 37 at the time ). I've heard BH is the smallest 4A school in the state. Whether that's true or not, couldn't tell you. There are too many great programs in this area...There are several teams that could make the argument for the top spot. Personally, I agree...hard to argue against BC @ # 1. Keep up the good work !
  17. BH is 13-3. Lost to state-ranked 5A Flower Mound by a run after leading 7-3, lost by a run to PNG ( Herrington kid pitched a very impressive game, also see where PNG is off to 2-0 district start in very tough 4A district ), and got blown out 12-0 by FT. Bend Elkins, who is currently ranked 13th among Houston area 5A teams. This morning's Houston Chronicle has BH ranked # 1 among 4A and others in Houston area. Moving BH in front of Brenham and basically giving them " the kiss of death".
  18. BH 17 Forest Brook 2.. Hunter Silva 5 inning complete game w/ I believe 10 k's. Townley, Campbell, and Ponder with HR's. BH 12 Crosby 2..Thamm 6 inning complete game w/ 10'ks and 2 BB's. Townley and Ross Hales with Hr's.
  19. Haven't seen LCM much this year....they are always strong..Beat us in the playoffs my SR. year in high school ( couple of years back ) But I did see the Herrington kid up close and personal earlier this year...from our perspective...ugly...very.. kid shut us down !
  20. And I was told good pitching beats good hitting...uh?... Congrats to Westbrook and Murphy...Huge game for two very strong teams.
