Great atmosphere for this one, depth was the key.The Tigers had fresh legs in the 4th and the Hawks were a half a step late. The double technical call was interesting to say the least. It had no bearing on the outcome as both clubs hit 1 of 2.I didn't think you shot a double tech.I thought it went to the possession arrow, somebody help me out on this one  ??? ???
Never saw an answer as to whether or not these should have been shot.  My thought was that a normal double tech involves an altercation between players.  This was two seperate techs.  Gaines for mouthing to officials and I was told Prudhommes was  bumping and mouthing to another player. I don't know if this is correct or not.

So, let me get this straight. You posted what you thought would be the outcome of the HJ/Silsbee GIRLS game in the BOYS basketball forum, in the HJ/Silsbee BOYS basketball prediction thread? ::)

I think you have "reached" your limit. ;)

Don't expect a huge fall off next season either. Those juniors and sophomores play heavy minutes and are ready to step up.
I don't either but I like HJ's chances next year.  The seniors to be for HJ will be the same group that went undefeated as freshman in district and will now have Bosha, Carr & presumably Mitchell as well.

Didn't know that losing last night's game would have some looking at yesteryear and next coming years. ::)

That’s all some people have to look at and look forward too  :D

A team plays another team equal or better for 3 quarters two times in 3 weeks, and you come on bragging about how you "knew HJ had no shot at beating silsbee".  HJ put themselves in great position to beat them, not once but twice.  I'm not talking about Nederland playing a garbage game against PNG and the Indians having a flukey shot at beating the dawgs, i'm talking about HJ playing as well or better than the tigers for 3 quarters TWICE.  Now, i've already stated that Silsbee is the better team, but HJ has a decent shot of beating them any time they play, not "no shot".  Nederland has "no shot" at advancing to state.  Bridge City has "no shot" at making the playoffs.  HJ could beat Silsbee, and it wouldn't take a whole lot of breaks to do it.  That is merely the point i was trying to make.  I do like the comment "I didn't want to say anything negative until after the game until i could see what the score ended up being", however.  You'd think since you "knew HJ had no shot of beating Silsbee", you would've made your bold prediction before the games, rather than after they occured.
Plenty of others knew what I thought about this match-up, and I promised Ole Nashy that I wouldnt say anything else about Hj until the game was finished ;) I was chomping at the bit to get back on this topic! ;D ;D
All I can do is hope the topic shows up again sometime soon

Always next year ;)

So who advances further in the playoffs this year - HJ or Nederland?

I think Nederland goes as far as Yates, to be honest.. Ned can match-up and play basketball with G-Ball or LaMarque since one team (LaMarque) has one superstar scorer and shooters around him (box&1 Lewis and try your best to win that way), and the other (G-ball) with two dominating 6-5 guys that can spread the floor(Kelvin on Evans then Forney on Pettaway).. AND about HJ, I dont see them getting by Cleveland or they might slip up before that and lose.. They need to have the 3-pointers dropping to win deeper in the playoffs
