3. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT2v64Ykxc0 This guy makes a lot of sense. He is not allowing himself to be a victim. I have seen all races play the blame game about life. Life isn't fair, the only thing that you can do is, step up, pay attention, and work hard. [Hidden Content]
 4. Good people don't need laws to act responsibly, bad people will always find ways around or loopholes in the laws.
 5. Regardless there is NO excuse for the things that have gone on in Ferguson after the ruling. People need to be held accountable for their actions. If not they are just giving others the green light to do this when things don't go their way. There is more race baiting than I have ever seen. On all sides. The media hasn't helped the situation at all.
 6. I definitely did not have near the information that you did. But I trust the fact that a grand jury reviewed over 70 hours of evidence and testimony and in the process they caught a few people testimony not matching the physical evidence that they could not convict him on anything. Then it must have been cut and dry...I truly felt the vast majority didn't care anything about the evidence.
 7. Unfortunately most of the rioters minds were made up long before the trial and I'm pretty sure the presidents as well. Even the mother said early on before the trial started that there better be a conviction or there will be problems. I hated that our president called a press conference, and appeared to give some validity to a verdict that he didn't agree with, after he sent Holder there to try and run interference. Why wasn't the national guard protecting all of the businesses and people. They were there.

C'mon DV, put your money where that big mouth is. ;) ;D
Maybe in your old age, you have forgotten that Yates returns Swift AND JC Washington next year along with the PG JoJo Anderson....It will be much of the same next year in region 3-3A... 8)
You do realize that 21-3A runner up would not see Swift, Washington, Anderson and the rest of Yates team till Regional finals. That means the runner up would make regional tourney. That is what we are discussing, Hardin County team making regionals. Should you even be coaching with that ineptness? ;)
Which would explain his success, or lack thereof.
Its OK...I have nothing to prove to either of you about my ability as a coach...Not an issue...I know how much you guys hate me and my success and PRAY that I fail...no big deal, it is what it is... I had not thought about the possibility of DODGING playoff opponents, since that is something that I do not believe in...Let me get back to work here....Have to build on this CONFERENCE TITLE, that we just won, preparing for the conference tourney and NCAA tourney that we will be in here soon....Enjoy your day, and go out and watch your teams baseball and softball games, since basketball is now OVER... ;)
All of us Do not hate you. Your a pretty cool guy in person. I understand you being proud of being "inner city" Not urban cowboys ;D like the rest of us. But just because kids are in a urban environment doesn't mean you cant play some ball. The urban kids put on there shoes just like everyone else. and they can hang with the best of them. Depth you will always have an advantage in. Just because of the sheer numbers you are pulling from. Congrats on your conference title. I didn't know that.
 9. Great job Silsbee, great season, way to rep setx. Some of those inner city kids now what "urban" basketball isn't any pushover...
 10.
If Silsbee hit their FTs and quit missing easy putbacks they would be up 8-12 points
There are no easy put backs against those guys...

I find that hard to believe because he was "creating his own shots at that time". I have noticed that you always try to belittle Bosha. You have been doing this since this forum was created. Are you sure that you are not jealous of him and his skill set? :o
Big Girl, that was only "friendly"  pre-district competition back in the day. Bosha is a very good player. I repeat, a very good player. But I also know a player should never stop working on his game. Obviously Bosha has improved his dribbling and creation off the ball. He always could shoot. BUT!!!! I don't base success on what a player does NOW!!!!! If a player has any ambition of playing the next level, you see what they have now to see if those skills can improve  and  transfer to the next level. I hope you're not one of these peeps who judge a kid's talent by the competition in these whack-azz weak district games you watch. Big girl, I suggest you get out of S.E.Texas and travel to see some real competition. When you get back, I guarantee you will preaching to your "kin" to hit the gym EVERYDAY!!! Disclaimer: If I have offended anyone or touched a nerve-too bad  ;D Disclaimer #2: Most of yall know me when yall see me- I have no problem discussing any issues in person  ;)
:P @ disclaimers.....

 13.
Silsbee is better than HJ (no doubt about that), so will be closer than the 30pt beatdown handed to HJ. Yates by 21 and from the tone of this forum, Silsbee fans aren't in denial like the Hawk fans here and in the stands Thursday night about how good Yates is. And of course the arrogance of HJ fans is unmatched anywhere
Only by a few of the Silsbee fans homeless.....you are so incorrect in your ASSumption. There is no doubt Silsbee has gotten the better of HJ both times they play....what was it by 3 points and 5 points if I remember correctly....HJ simply played the best game that they have played all year, and was still outmatched down low in the paint. I was at the game and witnessed no beat down, the game was very competitive through 3.5 quarters. I expect it to be a similar game with the tigers if they don't start getting down on each other during the Yates runs.... I honestly wish the tigers the best of luck. I say again, I will be pulling for Silsbee to pull off the upset. Nothing better than a david and Goliath theme.
 14. Yates 3 tech's Silsbee 2 tech's...that's my prediction. I will be pulling for Silsbee to win, I would love to see the upset. But Yates too much for Silsbee.
 15.
HJ girls beat the Yates girls the other night in the playoffs.  I guess there arent that many females who come to Yates as communications majors.
:o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have to say Dickie V is 100% correct, they are as good of a high school team as I have ever seen. They should be, they are the best that Houston has to offer. Hawks were in great shape until we lost our post presence. The final score was not a true indication of how close the game was. Great job by the coaching staff they put together a great game plan that made their press look silly sometimes.I cant say enough about the young men on the floor last night. They were NOT intimidated by them one bit. IMOHO I think that we played our best game of the year. You truly played with great resolve and the heart of a champion.......Great Job Hawks!
Experience is the GREATEST teacher, Poppabearstarr! ;)....Some just think the world STOPS at the Jefferson/Hardin County line! 8)...Honestly, Yates has no business even BEING in 3A, because they are moving right back up after next year...It was a move for football...an experiment...Should have never been.
I don't think that anyone actually thought that the world stopped at the county line...I agree, they are not a 3A team. They are good, but that is not the only place that plays basketball either...My Lady Hawks showed the yates girls how to get it done earlier this week. ;)

 18. it doesn't matter you will have to beat them both anyway.

The thread is a obviously stupid question only asked to belittle the football program at HJ. Big freaking deal you beat HJ, move on and maybe set your goals higher, maybe state champs. You act like each time a opponent has played HJ it was a blowout, it was not. Of course these kids want to be successful, yes they are working their tails off right now and you will see a big change over the next few years. And no I don't want to bet, that would be even more idiotic than the topic of this thread without even having a head coach right now. Give it a year or two and you can get one of those banks to put a second mortgage on you RV so you can cover those wanting to bet. I have seen other topics get locked for less, but as long as it against HJ than its ok.  ???  But there are 2 schools no one would be able to say the same thing about without someone getting banned and the post deleted.  ::)
I have to agree with Poppa here.    Any other time a moderator would have issued warnings by the 2nd or 3rd page.
I agree, but the warning's would have most likely been against HJ fans.
You are exactly right, Which makes my point. Some are good at dishing it out but can't take it in return.
