1. What's really funny is that if HJ were to win the game against Silsbee next year, and we came on here and give it back like we have been getting it, it would be locked down immediately......

I just love how the mods even let this thread stay going....lets pick on a program and a bunch of kids....you would fight tooth and nail if the roles were reversed just like these young men are doing. The thread is a obviously stupid question only asked to belittle the football program at HJ. Big freaking deal you beat HJ, move on and maybe set your goals higher, maybe state champs. You act like each time a opponent has played HJ it was a blowout, it was not. Of course these kids want to be successful, yes they are working their tails off right now and you will see a big change over the next few years. And no I don't want to bet, that would be even more idiotic than the topic of this thread without even having a head coach right now. Give it a year or two and you can get one of those banks to put a second mortgage on you RV so you can cover those wanting to bet. I have seen other topics get locked for less, but as long as it against HJ than its ok.  ???  But there are 2 schools no one would be able to say the same thing about without someone getting banned and the post deleted.  ::)
Get over yourself!!! I asked a legit question and the HJ people took the ball and ran with it.
I'm pretty sure your the one with a self inflated ego with that kind of question....lets me know about your your character...kick them while their down....it was a pointed question meant to piss everyone off and you know it. I know your game...get over yourself

 4.
To finish 3rd, Silsbee must lose to WOS. Not happening. HJ will beat WOS in a playoff for seeding. Stumble into Huntsville. Lose by 15 to a Tiger team who beats Yates! Good enough for you?
::)  ;D
 5.
Kinda like putting your teams accomplishments in one's signature so that they show up every time one makes a post. ;)
;D No worries fellas I'm not upset...I have many friends in Silsbee I pull for them anytime they are not playing my hawks. as far as the enrollment issue, last time I saw it HJ had 545 and I had heard Silsbee was on the high end of 900... I'm not sure exactly, but that is what I heard.

Looks like the tide has turned in that district... 8)
For you to type "the tide has turned" would indicate the "tide" would have to be going one way then stop and go the other way. With the numbers Silsbee has 9 wins out of 12 games in the past five years and 12 wins out of 19 games since 2007 the "tide" has only been going in one direction. And everyone of the games played have been good and entertaining. There is no other game played in SETX that can bring enough fans to be played at a venue like Ford Park. In this game it's not how you win, it's what you have to go through to win.  Hardin County Havoc......
DV is correct. The tide actually has turned. Since both teams have been in same district ('07), HJ won 4 of the first 6 games played between the two. Since then, Silsbee has won 10 of 13. I would say that is turning it around. ;)
Now!! Y'all gone and did it, the HJ fans are going to remind us of there 3 state titles ;)
We don't have to, people like you keep bringing it up....Silsbee has no doubt gotten the better of HJ after 2007 as repeated on this site over and over and over and over again. With as many athletes as Silsbee puts on the floor and almost twice the enrollment it's a wonder HJ has won any at all...Way to fight Hawks, very proud of you last night...
 7. Keep me informed, I would love to come watch them play
 8.
Sounds like The House cleaned up on all those Tigers -15+ bets.
Haha....you are right.... all of those 15 point spreads. Great job Hawks, keep fighting...they were behind 10 after the first 20 after the second, and 20 after the third. I will give Silsbee credit, they have a great team and can pressure the ball as good as anyone. They are not unbeatable though, great game by both teams...I think I read in an earlier post someone bitching about the refs.... I think both games were called extremely equal. As far as the big lead, the hawks have to not play as aggressive as the tigers. They are simply not as deep. So foul trouble is a huge worry, that is why you see the big runs toward the end of the game....the hawks turned up the pressure. Holmes and Elam were outstanding as usual, just too much tonight for my Hawks. Good luck to both teams during the playoffs...
 9. Horns play good defense, they stop you driving the paint. Hawks a little flat after a tough game tuesday
 10. It did end, last night. lol....It was another historic battle of two great teams...You took that wrong I wasn't insinuating that you said it was unfair I was merely letting every one know in my own opinion, that I thought it was called fairly.
 11.
The Tigers did a lot of favors for HJ in that last quarter.  Granted increased intensity by HJ was a cause in some of it. Poor decisions on the Tigers part played a big part as well.  Several senseless fouls sending Hj to the line and way too many short offensive possessions as well as a loss of defensive intensity.
I thought the game was called fair, in fact it was really good. I think that they let a lot of contact go in the first half for BOTH teams and tightened up in the second half on BOTH teams. But I could make the same comment that you did and say, we made poor decisions in the first half that it wasn't your pressure, and that we did a lot of "favors" for the tigers. But we both know how momentum works.
 12.
From what I saw HJ did not protect the ball, did not move the ball like they usually do. (Zjori was wide open in the corner many times and did not get the ball). HJ did not rebound well even when we had the bigger team on the floor. Silsbee cut through the lane to the basket with very little problems. Silsbee played more physical in 3 of the 4 quarters. All in all Silsbee out played HJ and deserved the win. Also would like to point out it was a great atmosphere and HJ and Silsbee fans both got their money's worth and both sides of the team and fans were stellar in their sportsmanship. Looking forward to round 2
Great game to watch. Congrats to the Tigers on a well deserved victory despite a valiant effort by the Hawks with a 37 point 4th Qtr. The rivalry game was like most of them, GREAT!. Both teams played well at different times. I cant wait for HARDIN COUNTY HAVOC round II. Should make it interesting. To my Hawks, now you know what it takes so lets get it done.

That is overwhelming odds to overcome to play a team with 7 of the top 10 players. Good thing there are just opinions on here. Unlike some if we lose I will give props to the winner not excuses. Good luck to my Hawks against overwhelming odds.
Not overwhelming at all, only 5 play at a time and having at least the two best shooters on the floor is A BIG plus for hj. Besides I didn't rank those top 10 in my opinion,  no telling where those hj players fall into that list.  If having a large numbe if better players guaranteed a win some of these pro teams would never lose.  It's the TEAM that plays best that wins not the player.
Yeah, Poppa, get outta' here with that BS reverse psychology.  You've been serving that stuff up for too long now. ;D 8)
I didn't pull the 7 of the 10 best players out of the air...It came from a self proclaimed expert...with all of that said I just don't see how we can win. Only 5 at a time, we have played them plenty of times when it was 8 on 5  ;) . Even the news proclaimed last night in mentioning Silsbee's record but qualified it with them playing a much harder schedule. I'm excited to see how it all comes out. Hopefully we can keep it respectable tonight.

 15.

WO is very athletic.  But perhaps some additional information might provide some more meaningful insight.  WO won the game.  WO outrebounded HJ handily.  HJ post man missed more than half the game in fould trouble.  Hj shot 33% from the free throw line, 28% from the field, and 10% from three point range.  In spite of that HJ had a shot to win the game at the buzzer on WO home court.  Therefore, I respectfully suggest that WO athleticism was not the main problem for HJ.  However, I fully understand just how "enlightened" it sounds for some Monday morning quarterbacks to say that.  My guess is that HJ is not likely to repeat the above stats when they meet WO in Sour Lake but I fully understand anything is possible.
I spoke with WO-S head coach the next morning after that game. Those numbers you posted are accurate, but WO-S shot the same low percentage from the field as HJ did. WO-S did make some free throws down the stretch, but had they shot a descent % from the field, it probably doesn't come down to a last shot for HJ. ;)
Hj never has a night like they had that night, WOS does from time to time. I guess we will just have to play the game instead of determining the winner on this website.
 16.
This one is should be interesting as always.  The Tigers have probably 7 of the top 10 players in the game,  while HJ has the top 2 if not 3 shooters on the floor.  Coaching is about a wash. The big key may be who plays better as a team.  I know at times this year it has seemed that the Tigers  haven't  played near as well in that respect as they did last year.  I also know that their has been rumors on here of some problems in that respect for the Hawks as well, I don't know  if thats true or not.  I do know the Tigers have begun to get better in that respect.  They just need to play good solid defense in this one and not let those shooters have open shots.  Depth from what I have seen is on the side of the Tigers as 10 or 11 players get regular playing time. The few games I saw the Hawks play they only went 7 or 8 deep.  That may have changed by now.  I feel that my Tigers will pull this one out in the end.  Lets just hope for a good game with no injuries.
why is silsbee only playing 7 of there top ten...
 17. Or it could be the same type of shot for the other team...... :o
 18. Well I'm not sure about that santa, but we are all aware of who likes bumping their gums.... :o ;) ;D
