Tiger33 Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 Tough game. Tigers will have to play perfect ball. Quote
Coachbearoso Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 Living in Central Texas now exactly btw waco connally and la vega, and I reffed la Vegas lower levels vs china spring and the Pirates put a butt whooping on all levels. I rode my bike to a couple of practices of La Vega, I know Coach Hydr as he was Willie Williams sidekick forever. I critique coach staffs. La Vega is 9/10, excellent staff from varsity to jr high, old school coaches and do it hard but with love for the team. La Vega almost upset Carthage at Jerry world ( i was there). There quarterback looks like Earl Cambell and there defense is awesome. Haven’t kept up with them lately ( i was at atascocita at Dickinson last night!!ustin Great game) but I have to say Pirates by 14. I may come to the game especially if Craig Mcgallion is there, he beat us in 2 nd round in 77 at Stephen f Austin. I played for Marlin and we barely lost. The next year Craig and I both made Allstate. Brownwood, the eventual state champs beat us by seven in the first round. I met up with Craig again in the 1979 game in Fort Worth, where we both play on the South team with Erik Dickerson and Craig James. Those are great times. the only staffs i officiated that were as good were Killeen Shoemaker whose JV and 9 destroyed waco University. Toby wasn’t there but I kidded with his assistant about how se texas wants him back. I emailed Coach Foreman the next morning and we talked back and forth. He seems to like the Central Texas living— great staff also Athens had a quality staff of men . Whitney led by a young man as head was exemplary ! sorry but I critique coaching staff after coaching for almost 40 years here in Southeast Texas Hopefully Coach sark has learned and will allow Arch to use his athleticism and get outside away from his poor offensive line. Coach Sark has been a major reason why Texas has looked subpar this year. His ego and inability to look past the conventional drop back quarterback has killed Texas. Oh well, hook up horns, gig em aggies and geaux tigers as I support all three teams and I hope LSU has a good man like A&M finally did with Coach Elko. La Vega by 14 Quote
TexasBoy89 Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 Hopefully I’m wrong but I think La Vega takes it. Quote

Yup, got to mix it up some but id for sure have the QB as the main focus. When i watch him it amazes me how fluid and strong he runs. He is only a sophomore right? Quote

But, truly right he is smoove.and it puzzled me against both teams I mentioned he threw the 5 yards routes on time and even threw the ball deep nice.for for whatever reason they changed there game plan and have him running 25 times.if u can make sense of it tell me bcz I don't it.the is a duel threat !! Mr. Pine Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 Silsbee has 5 RB's that can carry the rock plus the QB...game plan should be run it down Waco throat...also good offensive line....keep LaVega on the sidelines...I'm picking Silsbee Quote

Tigers94 Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 I don't expect the Tigers to win, but if they want a chance: 1. Long drives that eat up the clock. Keep La Vega's offense off the field and try to wear their defense down. 2. No turnovers and absolutely no boneheaded penalties. Boogy1000 1 Quote
bullets13 Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 Rooting for the tigers, but taking La Vega, 37-20 Quote

Silsbee needs to run run run, and with their size and stable of backs with the QB run game on the table i think theyll pull it off. Quote

Receivers not great at this point, slants and screens are not easy. If he had the kids from last three years, he would have over 2000 yards passing already. This also affects his confidence as a passer, why sometimes he slow to release the ball. I can think of 4 interceptions caused by ball bouncing out of receivers hands and into defender for Int. Some young kids out there, future looks good , as far as receivers though Boogy1000 1 Quote
Who That Posted November 16 Report Posted November 16 I" got to go with my Tigers.. Silsbee was rank #7 until the 3 point loss to WO.S in district. And they shouldn't have lost that game. #4 for WO.S is the real deal tho".! He won that game imo.! But a few bad mistakes 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter Silsbee beat them self. But Silsbee had chances in the 4th to win. But with a few over throws and a fumble cost Silsbee the game. But if Silsbee comes out like they did against HF Silsbee will win this game against La Vega . IMO" go Tigers.. 🐅🏈 BADSANTA 1 Quote

AggiesAreWe Posted November 18 Report Posted November 18 Tigers have a punchers chance in this one. Kind of reminds me of how Bellville demolished Silsbee in 2023 but then the Tigers avenged that loss the next season. La Vega whooped Silsbee last year. Will the Tigers return the favor? Boogy1000 Posted November 18 Report Posted November 18 The keys to a Tiger victory are 1. Stay out of 3rd and +7. OL needs to crush La Vega at thr line of scrimmage. Ball control! 2..Tackle. La Vega has a very big QB. Put pressure on him and wrap up. 3. Stop their run. La Vega ran for over 300 yards as a team vs Silsbee last year. Silsbee got revenge on Bellville last season. Hoping they can do it against Waco this season. Go Tigers!! Quote
