Last year, Shepherd was averaging 355 yards rushing per game going into Silsbee game. Tigers held them to 215.

WO-S held them to their 2nd lowest rushing total of 223 yards. The other 8 games Shepherd rushed for 300+.

I like WO-S in this one, 30-13

Shepherd has a drastically different team than what was seen last year including two RBs and their FB. Shepherd OL is significantly upgraded as well. They may not win the games but I wouldn’t put much stock in what was seen last year.

Looking at their stats, the QB from last year (Dellinger) who was 2nd on the team in rushing last season with 900 yards (leading rusher with 1622 graduated) is again 2nd on the team in rushing with 592 yards. They have a RB (Davis) with 622 yards and another RB (Coyle) with 398. The QB has the most carries on the season with 72.

White leads them in receiving with 7 receptions for 118 yards on the year.

Last year it was the RB Stephens with the 1700 yards in offense and 18 TD's. Now it's a combination of 2-3. But the QB seems to be the man on most occasions.

I understand you having a little bias with this particular Shepherd team with having family on the team, including yourself. It's understandable.

WOS was known at one time for having the Chain Gang defense and the Slot T Mafia, but things have really changed over there. I could see WOS taking a little time to figure it out but overall I do see them pulling out the win in a close one.

Shepherd has a great offense running the double wing (same as Hardin) and the what may be the best skill player unit in recent memory. Shepherd will also field the single best athlete in the district (Braeden White). Shepherd will have a 1-2 punch from TE and FB in the double wing that will be a tough matchup against any team in the district. The same 2 TEs and FB will also anchor what may be the best DL in the district.

Don’t know if it will be enough to beat a team like WOS but they are going to be a tough out for any of the big 4. Will not be surprised if they pick off a couple of them. Also, 18 starters are JRs.

I’m pretty sure their big #88 DE was seriously injured (knee) last game vs Diboll.  Huge loss for them if that was a season ending injury

Shepherd hasn't played a decent team all season. I would rank their schedule along the lines of Kountze. The best wins are against 3-3 Kirbyville and 3-3 Anderson Shiro. WOS by 24.

WOS 38 Shepherd 14.
