Sounds like UTSA will beat Lamar to the punch. That's a shame.

Now it might get scary on who Lamar will pick up.

No, he re-assigned him from OC.

The guy can flat out recruit.

The first sentence in this article states:  " Texas has parted ways with offensive coordinator Tim Beck."   I guess one can read that this only means he was demoted.     But, does Lamar want someone that was just been demoted for job performance?   Does he have a record of being a success as a college head coach?  If not, I'm not sure Lamar has the time to roll the dice again.

Houston Chronicle

"Texas football coach Tom Herman fired defensive coordinator Todd Orlando and demoted offensive coordinator Tim Beck, the school announced on Sunday."

Texas' offense was not the issue. He would be a good choice for Lamar.

I thought Lamar AD wanted a coach with Texas ties? Not saying Tim Beck doesn’t have some buddies but looking everywhere he has coached it’s only been at UT. He may be a great hire. But looking at his coaching career he has not stayed at a job more than 3 years. I was hoping Lamar Would find a coach that would stay Atleast 5 years and would be hungry to start a winning tradition not just give up after a couple of losing season.  Anyone have a list of candidates ?

Correction on my part I didn't read that he did coach Texas high school football for 6 years in Texas heres  his record.

TIMOTHY BECK
6 years; 38-29-0; 4-2-0

1999  Carrollton Turner        2-8-0
2000  Carrollton Turner        6-5-0 T
2001  Carrollton Turner        7-5-0 T
2002  Mansfield Summit       5-5-0
2003  Mansfield Summit       9-2-0 C
2004  Mansfield Summit       9-4-0*

You are going to have to explain this one!

The AD has me scratching my head. They have to pay the past coach 280k. I think they need to find a new Ad.

Seems like they're gonna have to pony up more for this guy. Just looking off of stats alone, SDSU was pretty balanced, but they're only giving up maybe 10 points a game. Their defense is why they're good.

    • Whatever happened to educating people so that they don’t go off the deep end pursuing an incident that shouldn’t be political in the first place? Seems everyone is looking for their “trigger”moment. The dumbing down of America has taken its toll. Anyone who would hold this against her is doing so out of spite and for political gain. Said people need to be ignored.
    • You won’t get an argument from me that this won’t hurt her nationally but I don’t think this will hurt her in SD or even an appointment in a Republican administration.  I’m sure she saw backlash from some, apparently not from folks like you and me, which is significant, but like I said, I appreciate the honesty.
    • Appreciate the confidence.  Why don’t we see how this works out for her.  Going great so far.  She MIGHT be able to get re-elected in South Dakota next election, but if a good candidate runs against her in the Republican primaries she may be in trouble.  I don’t think there’s a chance in hades she gets the VP nomination, and if for some reason Trump is dumb enough to give it to her, his chances of winning are probably over.  On a positive note, maybe DeSantis gets it now?  If they win and do a decent job then we’d have a VP ready to run for president in four years with a good shot of winning.
    • I honestly don’t have an issue with it.  I grew up around livestock.  We had a neighbor lose nearly 30 animals in a 3-week period before they caught the dogs doing it. Those dogs needed to die.  I was there when my uncle killed a dog that was eating his chickens… didn’t bother me. If one of my dogs ever bites one of my kids it’ll be dead.  Immediately.  But some things are better left unsaid, and probably 90% of the country loves dogs, with only a small fraction of them being able to relate to why she did what she did.
    • If only she was as politically savvy as you. 🙂
