Have you attended the games the past few years?

Yes - I enjoy going to many local games. I’m not saying your kids aren’t playing hard, most schools can say that.

I watched y’all play Crosby a few years back and Lee last year. Once again, not knocking your kids. Yall have beat the teams you should beat and we’re defeated by teams around or above your level. Also, nothing wrong with supporting your community or team, just tread lightly with cultural paradigm shifts. Not sure if you’re singing the same tune if Lumberton is still in 5A.

I think what 11 is saying is prior to Babin, we were getting beat by teams like Central by 60 points, no exaggeration. After Babin arrived, we lost to Central in the final seconds of the game back to back years if I remember correctly. We beat the likes of Ozen, Vidor, GCM on our way to the 5A playoffs. The only things that have changed in the last 4 seasons (Babin era) is the talent level from year to year and now a drop to 4A. The culture shift is real and has not changed, regardless of the scoreboard or the opponents. It doesn't mean we are all of a sudden world beaters but what our players believe and what our opponents see/feel is different the last 4 years. That's a fact that can't be disputed. Hence, the phrase culture shift or change.

I can respect that outlook

That’s all I was trying to say too Icon. He just worded it better. We are by no means a wos or newton, not do I expect us to be.

I understand where you coming from. I think over the years y’all had some good groups of kids that came through. If you look at some past scores like our 1994 season y’all played us tough which I had double check the score. We blew out WOS that year. When I played against Lumberton they wasn’t a very physical team. The sad thing is Lumberton will move up and will they stay motivated to win in 5a? I hope they do. Those 5a teams are beatable

I think we can have a chance if we can build momentum and motivation while in 4A. 3 years ago we made the playoffs in 5A. 2 years ago we were pretty close if we wouldn’t have lost to Livingston in the last minutes and we had central beat but blocked the wrong person on the 2 point conversion that would have gave us the win. We lost by 1 point. If i remember correctly, we win those two games and we were in the playoffs again. So we competed in 5A with the exception of Nederland and PNG. Heck we even almost pulled the upset over PAM last year. We had all the momentum until a lightning delay, came out after that dead. That’s on us though.

I think we can stay relevant, and every few years we’ll get another Hussey, Hanna, Beard, or Rhodes from 2015 that will put us over the edge.

Since everyone likes to bring up the past to make there point here and there. While my hope is that the next realignment numbers will keep us at this level for another couple of years, with exceptions of Crosby, there is not one single team in that 5a district that we haven't beaten at least once in the past including PNG. It's a hell of a lot harder for a school our size but it has happened. Babin is very good at getting the kids motivated. Now if we can just keep whiny parents out of the equation so that the school board doesn't run off another perfectly good coach like they've done in the past.

Y’all have beat PNG once I believe. Ned a few times. Lumberton is political just like LCM. Hopefully with our new supertendant we will raise the bar on coaching and making a bi district playoff a standard a no more. Winning 3-5 games a year is not good.

The so called culture change the past 2 years is knowing Lum was moving down to 4A. That caused excitement this Lum would dominate. Heard that since last year. And now we see it ain't happening. Our district and the Furr district are weak. Just being real. Lum will probly beat whoever they play from that district 1st round. Then will get it handed to them in 2nd round. Once again...just being real.

What’s up Hater 23... actually we didn’t know till early this year that we would move down to 4A.

I got an idea, why don’t we fire Babin, hire you as head coach, and I’ll go ahead and buy my tickets to Dallas next year. Sound good to you?

Every year we have at least one hater that can't stand either the team, the town or the coach. Your wasting electricity even turning your computer on coach. Hell with only 22 coaches around you can still only manage 23rd.

I'm out of likes. Good post. Hater23 is entertaining at best.

To your point, what coach would he hire instead of Babin?  Maybe him and a couple of his youth football coach buddies?  He probably warmed the bench in high school and doesn't know  about football but it should be an improvement over our current staff, according to this moron.

Calm down. He’s probably little league coach that wants Lumberton to become a powerhouse

I think we had the same idea. Babin is a good coach and I’ll have to check but probably has more wins then Crouch

Thanks Bigdog. And appreciate all you other's support. Typical homers. Always have excuses. Cant stand anyone that has different opinion or has a little criticism.  And for the record...I'd hire someone NOT from Lumberton.

I like the hometown guy because he has more pride in our town.
