We are probably past the point of arguing whether the school closures and/or game postponement are warranted.  Regardless of whether you believe districts are exercising due prudence or whether you believe that they are being a bit too alarmist with the postponements, they occurred today and in it appears for the most part of the area will appear again tomorrow

THIS JUST IN: 73 minor crashes, 12 major crashes and one fatality in Beaumont--as of 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, according to Officer Carol Riley. First responders say you should stay off the roads and highways because of the threat posed by ice.

High Island ISD has canceled it's Wednesday HS basketball games vs Spurger due icy conditions. Games have been rescheduled for Thur. Jan 18th. JV Boys will start at 4:30PM followed by Varsity Girls & Varsity Boys. The 2 JH games scheduled for Thursday have been cancelled.
