Central has a new coach, hurricane aftermath, displacement. I know all of  the schools are dealing with hurricane issues (and PAM certainly is), but starting with a brand new (to Central) coach AND with that other stuff is just plain unfair. I think they will be better as the season goes on.

Nelson was on Central staff last two years.

Jones will be fine.  He has a huge arm as well and performed well when he got to play in the past, including throwing some absolute strikes in a rare opportunity in an OT win against WB a couple of years ago.  He will be on a learning curve getting to start at his position for the first time as a senior.  He would have been a starter at most schools at least from sophomore year on but stuck it out playing behind a coaches son.  But you can't ever get missed reps back so there was going to be an adjustment period to begin the year anyway.  Couple that with the devastation and further missed practices in PA, you would have been crazy not to have expected a sloppy game.  And from both teams for that matter.

On the defensive side, the Titans are going to be a problem for their opponents.  Should be as loaded a group as we've seen in a while.

Pull out the rah rah posts, and I think everyone else knew this would be the outcome. Central has the best or 2nd best talent in the district. With some time, I think Central will get going. They are going to make the playoffs IMO, so its just a time thing. Its very difficult with a new coach to become great overnight. You need buy in from the players and the parents. Time will tell. But the fact remains, Central has gobs of talent. Throw in this crazy schedule we are playing because of the hurricane, its tough. I am pretty positive you will not see a post about any team, that does not have the word sloppy, or missed tackles, or needs improvement, in it....

I'm glad we have a qb that can and isn't afraid to run it, but 17 times is a bit more than I would like to see with two stud tunning backs in the back field. 10carties by a qb in our system is good lol. No excuses for Francis to be doing the same stuff he was doing as a back up wr last year. He has stone hands and can't hold on to the ball. He's the reason central even scored.

Central will be fine. PAM defensive lineman #9 whipped Central's Center all night. He caused several over the head snaps. I believe PAM will run away with this district. Its PAM and everybody else. Central will be one of the top four teams out of this district.

Wasn't just #9. That entire defensive front had it's way with Jag O-line.

Yeah but #9 was over Center and caused a lot of bad snaps. Plus when Central started trying to double him it freed up others to come through. #9 play made everything else happen for that defense.

I agree. That and the speed that the Titan D had on the edges was too much for Central to handle.

Exactly. That D will lead them to a district championship

Correct,

one thing I will say. Centrals Defense really played well, until the 4th qtr, I think with the offense going 3 and out so quick and keeping the defense on the field it caught up to them..They're no memorial but they are just as fast and talented

I know I'm an outsider on this game and definitely was not there to critic anything. I'm also sure PAM has a great defense but if the stats I saw are correct and Central had 18 offensive yards that tells me their offense is terrible. When you can only come up with a little over 4 yds offense a quarter that's a lot more than PAM defense being just that good.

they had -21 total yards. yes the offense for central did not look good. now i know we are fans and have biased opinions, BUT people on here were saying how central DOMINATED in the scrimmages and made one kid want to transfer??? central looked AWFUL based on what the central fans were saying. if PAM played that same team they scrimmaged, the whole team would transfer?? i'm just trying to get where this will be a completely different looking team. i understand the storm is responsible, BUT no way they should have had -21 yards total. thoughts?? and no PAM didn't look good on offense  imo.

    • I don't think it is overly hyped.. I am seeing less and less multi-sport kids when it can all be prevented.. A coach teaches l loyalty, work ethic, comradery, integrity, perseverance, etc.. to get kids to buy into their program. They talk about brotherhood and doing what is best for their community.... But some mean all of this  just for football... Kids see into this double standard and will quit.. either while on the field or off...  drives me crazy!!  and again... I work with these kids.. they tell me what they think.. so you can agree or disagree.. its their point of view!!
    • Hmm..... I tend to disagree. I was a multi sport athlete in High School and am now a coach. Kid is not going to be a very good hitter if he only hits in the spring and summer, I took BP and threw (to keep my arm in shape) during football and basketball season. Kid is not going to be a very good QB, WR or DB if he only throws passes, runs routes or covers receivers in the fall or during a few 7 on 7 games after baseball is over. And a kid is never going to be good shooter of the basketball if he only shoots during the basketball season. Skills are honed, not mastered, they need to be developed and practiced repeatedly.
    • and I'll concede that this is more realistic.  but a good AD can make football the primary focus without messing with the success of other sports.
    • but they're 10-3 this year.  playoffs in basically everything except boys and girls basketball, which i mean, that's understandable.  and from what I'm hearing, the different programs feel supported over there.  which is kind of the point of the athletic director.  It's not the football director.
    • Would you rather have multi-sport athletes doing drills during school that are being ran/controlled by coaches or have kids playing fall ball with little to no supervision?!?!?
