World Worried With Trump Becoming President

Saw on Fox a clip that that world leaders are worried about Trump becoming President.  Only the ones who aren't our friends should be concerned.  As the 1st Marine Div Motto says, and Ret. Marine Corps General Mattis is fond of saying, No Better Friend, No Worst Enemy". I'm all over that!

Communication is everything. Putin has said he wants to sit and talk with Trump. Trump has said he is willing to talk with Kim Jong-Un. (I'd love to be a fly on that wall). Trump was not my favorite, but so far, he's doing some great things. I am willing to give him a chance.

I agree 100% baddog.  His cabinet picks have exceeded my expectations.   NBC is reporting that Rex Tillerson is going to be Secretary of State.  I think he'll be a good one.  He's experienced with dealing with foreign Govts.  He's from Texas (big plus to me), and is a no nonsense, don't urinate down my back and try to tell me it's raining type of guy.  Finally, could stare down a statue.  Plain english, he won't put up with any BS.

Is he the Exxon/Mobil guy? Like your description of him. Don't know anything about him. I give everyone a chance until they give me reason not to.

Yes, the XM guy.  Something else to irritate the liberal whacko's.  The Dems have virtually all Big Business, except the oil companies.  They Hate'em - Good.  Let us run outta gas & see what happens lol.

You can listen to this guy and tell he is not full of it. I have been watching Fox News this morning and for the life of me, can't understand how anyone can be against what is going on.   I get rejuvenated every time I hear about JOBS coming back to the U.S., deregulation in many aspects, tax breaks,....what could be better, deciding which bathroom to use? Even all the lefties on this board, I call you out to tell me how you can disagree with AMERICANS going back to work, and we are not talking McDonald's here. Also tell me how repealing or changing Obamacare is a bad thing? It is spiraling out of control on its own. I have never understood the left way of thinking. Help me please, and without a bunch of one liners. Let's leave race out of it too.

U.S. Steel is interested. That's a huge one. Trump isn't legally your President yet and he is already making reforms. What wall street cabinet member bothers you and why?....tick....tick....tick....

I'll be honest, I don't know what a "Wall Street Guy" is.  He has 3 ex Generals.  A CEO from ExxonMobil, a Surgeon, 2 ladies, and an ex governor of Texas.  Also 3 billionaires (?), who may have made their fortunes in legitimate businesses, or be Wall Street Guys.  So out of the 11 I know of (probably more I'm forgetting) that includes 3 who may, or may not be.  That isn't a lot.  Personally, I don't care if they're janitors, if they can get this country working again.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
