Remember after last season, MossHill said that EC's streak was going to come to an end this year. He was saying that this was going to be EC's worse season in over 20 years. Well, he called that one. Good job Anahuac and fighting your way into the playoffs.

EC will get it back together

We knew this was going to be a down year, but this team was still more than capable of making the playoffs. One kickoff return away from beating Hempstead, and one stop late against LaMarque to get the ball back down one score. This team did not have upper classmen step up, no leadership. Very disappointing, coaches can only do so much. AP came to play tonight just as I predicted, they were the better team and deserve to play next week.

I actually seen on fb where a guy said he should be fired.  I said no way!!!!   Coach Sutherland is a great football coach ... Hard for 14-15 year olds to compete with 18-19 year old men. Ec was young and that's all.

Agreed! Most of EC's carries last night were from two freshman, QB is a sophomore and has dealt with a thumb injury, WR core is made up of mostly all sophomores. EC will bounce back better than ever!

NO UPPER CLASSMEN STEPPING UP? NO LEADERSHIP?

Forget "your opinion", Mr. Week Ago. Just go down the roster:

#4 Hunter Loupe --heart and soul LEADER of the team. Three year starter, Made countless tackles and rushed for tons of yards in his career. Second LEADING in yards. Hunter did it ALL!  TOP TEN ACADEMICALLY.

#8 Trevor Thomas --  Go to guy for the big plays. 100+ yards rushing vs. HF, New Waverly, and Hitchcock..Team LEADER in yards. Scored many, many TD's for the Bucs

#22 Brandon Ruiz -- depth in the kicking game. Will kick then tackle!

#32 Landon McBride -- excellent athlete, big play defender and speedy rusher, High performer!

#55 Eulises Rosales, # 56 Crystian Zuniga, #65 Coby Smith, #68 Jovan Randle, #72 Jose Angeles, #73 Anthony Guerrero  These big guys paved the way every time they were called on. Special recognition to #65 Coby Smith! Three years service starting in the trenches for the Bucs!

#81 Geno Harrington LED team in tackles in Rice Bowl and vs. Hitchcock.  LED team in defensive productivity.  TOP TEN ACADEMICALLY.

Its despicable of you Mr. Week Ago, to try to throw these 17 year old Seniors under the bus to try to deflect responsibility away from a paid coach and staff of grown men for this years result (not that its even needed, anyway). I am sure they themselves would resent this attack on their boys, too. These unloved Seniors DID THEIR JOB and represented the EC community with great pride and class. You should learn a lot from them.

I'm not going back and forth with you. We understood this would be a down year, and unfortunately Anahuac is better than in past years. I'll even go back and say leadership didn't cost us the game, it was a factor. Our lack of tackling did. Also not taking away anything from the guys you named, but there were no exceptional football players on this team like in years past. Especially in the upper classes.
