Realignment Conference Cutoff Numbers Released Friday!

Recommended Posts

If Ozen drops (as they would be smart to do) and Lee moves to 21-5a I see 22-5a looking like this:

PA Memorial

Nederland

PNG

Central

Lumberton

Vidor

Dayton

BH

If 21-5A gets both Splendora and Lee then this could happen. I just think BH has too much stroke to let all their games be played an hour away though.

Oh, Splendora. Now who has the weak district...lol

If Dayton and BH move to 22-5a, then it's going to be a crazy tough district. Don't see that happening though. I think everyone will stay where they are besides PAM going to 22-5a and Splendora in 21-5a. If anyone goes from 21-5a, it will be Dayton like they did about 8 years ago.

It will be interesting to see what they decide to do with 12-3a if in fact Coldspring drops down making it a 9 team district, or split it up somehow with the teams on the north end traveling  a little ways......up the road.

I was thinking that would be the case and if so I imagine they may move them into 9-4A D2 and move Liberty out. With La Marque closing down and if what I have heard about Coldspring dropping is true I could see this happening

9-4A D2

Jasper

WO-S

Orangefield

Hamshire-Fannett

Hardin-Jefferson

10-4A D2

Liberty

Tarkington

Shepherd

Houston Scarborough

Houston Worthing

Houston Kashmere

From a Cougar insider on another site, LaMarque HS, MS and elementary will not close and will keep their name. Only difference is LaMarque ISD will be gone and will be taken over by Texas City ISD.

Not much the UIL does makes sense, but to me it seems pretty easy.   Since Ozen is staying and PAM is 5A now, move Lee back to 21-5a to replace King and leave it at that.  OR - leave to two districts alone and have two 8 team districts.

    • 3 counties voted in this particular election. Jasper, Orange and Jefferson. Covey won Jasper and Orange counties pretty handily. Phelan won Jefferson county by 2800 votes.   Should Jasper and Orange county secede? lol
    • I know Hearne had a dry spell from like 2014-2017… but other than that they have been pretty decent for the most part I think. 2018-2019 I believe they were at the state tournament. Not sure the exact year Coach Williams got there though.
    • Goes down in flames? Considering it was a runoff election already that was feverishly close 'til the end with only a difference of 366 votes out of 25,260, I don't know if that is a fair description.
    • According to UIL archives, the playoffs were created in 1920, when the all schools played for one ring and ended in a tie.    Divisions were created in 1925 when 1A was created and then the  "B" division was created in 1926 and only played to BI-District.  Starting in 1928-1972 the "B" division played to regionals or Bi-district, it varied.   By then the PVIL and the UIL had multiple divisions up to 4A. Nederland won regionals in '42, and '45 and  tied in the '44 regionals .  They were undefeated both years ('42 & '45) with one tie in '42. PNG won regionals in '34, '46 and 47.   They were 9-2 in '34, undefeated in '46 and 11-1 in '47. PA Austin won regionals in '43 and '47.  They were 9-1 in '43 and 9-2-1 in '47. PA (Which became PA TJ) - played in a division that went to State.   Those teams are listed above. Orange- (Precursor to WOS) had several good seasons in the 19-teens and 1920s but I don't see any playoff information.  *EDIT* See playoff history at the top of the post* Beaumont- Played in the 1A division once the playoffs were created so played the full bracket.
