Longhorn63
You guys are killing me. Let's talk some football. Like I said before I think Tarkington may win in a close one. Just glad we are at a point we can get excited about our team. Even with a " patty cake " schedule. Haha
uknowit2
You're right. Your problem is reading comprehension (things you posted) and punctuation. I don't argue with 13 year olds so have a good day.
beentheredonethat3
Yes I agree it was smart scheduling. It builds moral among the team and school and town. What's crazy is I bet the last time shepherd and Tarkington made the playoffs at the same time is non existent...I think both teams have a chance to make this happen

Longhorn63
I agree it will be great to see both teams make the playoffs this year. Hope the trend continues.
Cheeseconey
This Friday night will go a long way in determining who makes the playoffs. Tarkington is a confident team as they should be and Shepherd will have to be ready to play, coming off a tough loss.Should be an entertaining evening on the prairie.Shepherd-23Tarkington-
TROJANSWIN
I have a feeling Shepherd wins this easier than most people think. It is great to see Tarkington winning and hopefully they win a few more and make the playoffs this year. They have won a lot of games, but their schedule has been very weak this year. We will see on Friday.

It probably builds morale as well. Go Longhorns.
cat001
I agree Shepherd has had a tougher schedule but their wins have not been that impressive I don't think. They beat a terrible Cleveland team, a Kountze team who just got their first win, and an even more terrible Splendora team. While the other teams on their schedule were tougher opponents they lost. So we can talk about schedules all we want the kids can only play who is on the schedule win or lose both teams will show what they are made of on Friday night this is a very important game in the district. No one said Shepherds schedule was weaker it was more difficult but the difficult teams that they played they lost to so it not like they have beaten anyone either both teams will be looking to prove something Friday night. Quit talking about the Splendora game that was their first game of the season and rival games are always played closer than others.

Both teams have improved and if you can't see that then you are a complete moron and know absolutely nothing about football. It will be a close game but Tarkington has some major confidence and defense has been playing well. Its not going to be an easy game for either team this week. You are oblivious to how the schedules get set as well. Its not like you can just cancel a game that was on last years schedule and replace it with whoever you want to. idk
Rival games are close when your both not very good lmao I don't know if you are from Shepherd or not, We folks from Shepherd try and treat our opponents with respect. So please do that! It's not like Shepherd has been to the playoffs every year. They have to prove themselves just like Tarkington does. I do think Shepherd is a little better team but they will have to go out and prove that. cat001, Bighornet and Longhorn63
Cheeseconey
Say what you want, but it is hard to be a confident team when you have not won a game in a month. Tarkington will come into the game with confidence and momentum, Shepherd will have to get something going early to get some momentum. SHSALUM
No it's no hard to be confident, I've seen these boys and watched them grow up so what they lost 3 games in a row, they have been confident week in week out. That's fine every team should have confidence about going into a game but I know what they are capable of doing and they will put it too them just like last yeari don't know why everyone making a big deal.about this game hasn't this game always been lopsided in shepherd's favor every year?? idk
I know Tarkington has won some games this year, but saying that a team needs to be confident coming in to play Tarkington, just doesn't seem to sound right. Yea I know Shepherd has not done that much on a football field either. But I can assure you they will be confident this Friday Night Playing Tarkington. I am not bashing Tarkington but they are in the same boat as Shepherd, until they prove it year in and year out it means nothing.
cat001
These are two teams trying to turn programs around (Tarkington more so than Shepherd) both teams are excited about the teams they have put on the field and the success they are having there's nothing wrong with both fan bases being excited about the things happening in their town. These are two of the more talented teams either team has put together in a long time if not ever. Both teams want to win Friday night and both will be ready to play. I think they will both make the playoffs in their district so it should be a good match up win or lose both schools will move on and try to get better next week but I don't see a blowout either way in this game it will be a dog fight. rangers12
Um actually this years schedule started a new 2 year cycle...so Tarkington could've theoretically scheduled anyone in preseason Um actually when other teams decline your request to play them you cant put them on your schedule. From what I hear there are several teams from Tarkington's general area and that were in the district last season that declined to put Tarkington on their schedule. So in theory it doesn't work like that
rangers12
I agree with cat. Both teams have improved and Friday night will definitely be a dog fight to win. Going to be a must see game

From what I hear there are several teams from Tarkington's general area and that were in the district last season that declined to put Tarkington on their schedule. So in theory it doesn't work like that Non-district games are on a 2 year contract in 99.9% of the circumstances. This season started a new 2 year cycle for everyone (it coincides with realignment). So Tarkington could've scheduled anybody they wanted to as long as both teams agreed. Go back and look at your post that I quoted. I was referencing your statement that you can't replace someone on your schedule from last year.
