1.
Trice Howard with the walk off single
Correction. That was actually an error on the last play.....on a side note....a lot of respect for number 4 on both teams. Both are classy individuals and both left it all on the field along with their teammates. Very good matchup and almost identical teams with both games decided by 1 run. Congrats Orangefield
 2. I would like to see Shepherd come out on top in this game. One game takes all makes this game more interesting. Not saying that BC is not good or anything. They are a great ball club, but I would like to see Shepherd get this win to represent 22-3A
Making it a good game and competing hard doesn't imply that they're being taught and used in the right manner...I know I'm definitely not the only one who has watched alot of CS games over the last few years who feels the same, however, I'm not saying the HC isn't a good guy or isn't doing his best (because I think he is and on both accounts)... It's just my opinion after watching other good baseball programs and coaches (games and practices) that there are a few things that could be done differently to maximize the talent on hand...Of course there's always philosophical differences in terms of in game strategy, etc but that can be the case with just about any coach/staff...
You can go to any school and any baseball program in the nation and find different ways to maximize your kids abilities. And there is always something that you can do different and always something that you can improve on. So I don't think that there is an issue with what the CS Coach is doing because they are HARD to beat year in and year out. It doesn't matter who they play that day or night they always show up and give the very best they have and thats all you can ask for as a fan. Just my opinion on this.
 4. Tarkington vs. O-Field.......Best 2 out of 3....Thursday in New Caney (Tarkington Home) @7, Friday in Vidor (O-Field home) @7, Sat @ 12 (still have not heard anything about a location yet). Game 3 of Tarkington vs Orangefield, Maguire Field in Pasadena on Saturday at noon, if necessary
 5. Tarkington vs. Orangefield.........Meeting Monday
 6.
...Watching CS baseball games is at times difficult to say the least I'm not one to criticize coaches much but I've been pretty disspointed with alot of the stuff I've watched the last few years (baseball wise)...
I think the CS coach has done a great job getting the best out of his kids. That is not a disrespect to the kids at all. So don't turn it around like that. 7. This play was called against us this year. Runner ran into a defensive player while he was attempting to catch the ball. Defensive player is in the baserunners lane, but the runner has to make an attempt to avoid collision since the defensive player is defensless in the act of catching teh ball. Runner is out!
 8. your re-post posted before mine. You are correct. He does not have to slide. However if shortstop is in process of catching and making a tag and there is no slide, but rather a collision and that collision is mallicious then yes there is a possible ejection! Runner needs to make an attempt to slide no doubt though.
 9. regardless if his job is to break up a double play. THERE IS NO DOUBLE PLAY! He was stealing second. No attempt to slide, lowers should by the looks of the picture, and short has no shot at catching and getting the out because of contact...... EJECTION!
 10.
1.  Huffman      9-1 2.  Tarkington  7-3 3.  Splendora    5-4 3.  Coldspring  5-4 Splendora and Coldspring split when they played each other.
Its a dog fight till the end
 11.
Tarkington looks real good this year was very impressed when I saw them play. MacArthur should be coach of the year in my eyes
I second that notion!
 12. Liberty and Cleveland have the same record at 1-8...Cleveland beat Liberty the last time they played though
 13. This is outrageous!!!!! Unbelievable how parents are these days. The whole part of the game is finding a way to win and giving yourself an edge. Stealing signs is very similar to scouting a game and writing a list of things the other team does to give yourself a better chance of winning. Stealing signs has been part of the game for a very long time! When I was playing college ball our coaches taught us ways to figure out signs and we would have guys every game assigned to just  breaking signs and trends to give our hitters an advantage. Its not cheating it is part of the game! You see it all the time the guy on second signalling to the hitter what pitch is coming in some form or fashion. Get over it parents! I agree with GCMPats2.....get better at giving signs and this will not be an issue!
 14. Predictions for this years 22-3A
 15. Glen picked a good school to go to. Head Coach Cary Fowler is a great guy and does a great job with this football team. Glen will fit in just right with that offense and school. Students and community love their football. Congrats to Glen, East Chambers, and Tarleton on this one.

 17. I will say Coldspring wins this one. Defense without Cooper #20 is still stout. Offense has a punch you in the mouth attitude and I think it might be too much for Huffman to handle. It will be a much more close game thna it has in the past, but Coldspring will end up on top at the end of the night.

Yes, you are judged by your record. Three wins thus far is an improvement... I think... you  know i am stupid though. MAYBE they have more of their athletes playing this year. I will continue being stupid until they beat an average 3a team. Sorry for being stupid...i cant help it.
sportsfan you are very contradicting. You say Tarkington looks the same and then you say that they have improved. If they are they same they couldn't be improved. Your not making much sense. I agree that both teams are on the rise and are both improving programs. I don't think it has anything to do with who Tarkington played pre district. If you look it up the only people who Tarkington has replaced is Kountze and Hull-D. Replaced Kountze with H-J who is well improved and a very tough team that is well coached. They also replaced Hull-D with Houston Sam Houston who is a 5A program that plays very solid and good teams in Houston area. So saying that it is who Tarkington plays pre-district is in even up for discussion. Just saying...
Ok if a 5A is playing a 3A then the 5A is obviously bad..HJ is improved some..
Just because they are playing a 3A doesn't necessarily mean they are a bad team. They have some strengths and weaknesses like every other team. They just play tough teams in their area and they are also in a rebuilding phase. They just opened their school back up not too long ago from what I ahve heard.

 20. I am a huge Ranger and Josh Hamilton fan. I have mixed feelings. I can understand having a few bad games here and there. But he was not mentally or physically there the last 10 games of the season. Not sure what is going on with him. His attitude shows that his ego is too big. He is a great baseball player, but did not show it at the end of this seaosn. Not because of the costly error in A's game in the 4th innings, but his ab's have not been good AT ALL. If he wants to go let him go and use the money for pitching (relievers). We need it! Hate to say that because I enjoy watching Hamilton play and have enjoyed him being on the Rangers and he is a big part of our team. But when he plays bad usually the team plays bad.
