Interesting to see Newton and Hardin-Jefferson on the Eagles schedule.

I'm told the HJ game will be in Lufkin.

Unsure on Newton game but that's a great way to start a season.

Yep H-J went three deep in the playoffs and return a good portion of their team, I'm sure they won't be any good. :rolleyes:

I have not heard where for certain, but I did hear that a neutral site game for HJ was in the works.

Heard game would be at Abe Martin in Lufkin. Could be a Thurs., Fri., or Saturday game.

Lol Truth be known what happened was the UIL making 5 team districts. Those teams in 5 teamers have to find other schools with 5 to be able to play week 6.HJ had another school cancel on them late Monday night and they had to scramble just to get a game. They would much rather be playing Tatum than be playing no one.

Newton game has been in the works a while.

H-J was a late addition. Tatum had Carthage lined up but didn't really want to play them the week before district starts. Obvious reasons.

Henderson is a surprising one as well. They've been telling Tatum no since the 40's.

Also that Center (who got the shaft being in 6-4A DII) and H-J match up is interesting as well.

Dunno yet. I've asked both coaches and neither knows yet.

They are working out the details now but Coach Johnston did say that WOS is coming to Newton this season
