Class 3A now has 4 teams going to the playoffs...Correct?

Starting this season, right?

And is it official that 3A will be going split division starting in 2014 with the new alignment? And if it is like 1A and 2A does only 3 teams will be going to the playoffs in that system. So then why, for just one year, increase the number of playoff teams when it is going to change back to 3 next year? Am I missing something?

I thought there were only a few main things for football.

1. Six man wnt to 1A therefore everybody moves up a classification.
2. 3A and 2A get four teams in like 4 and 5A.
3. All playoff games can be televised.

I'm sure there's more but I thought those were the main ones that applied to football? I could be mistaken though so don't quote that.

From what rumors I have seen going around on this site WOS, SILS, JASPER, CLEV, HUF, would definately be in the large school bracket. I think from the rumors that BC and OF would be as well but not sure. I think HJ, HF, Coldspring, and others would be in the small school bracket with BUNA possibly dropping a classification. I think about 6 teams in each district. Not sure it is set in stone yet by the UIL.

so when they drop back to the big division and small division... will the small division be a 1 team spot? and 2 for the big division? or will it be 2 and 2...

yep. and if i'm not mistaken, some districts only have 5 teams as of now.

That is correct. Only the split division districts in the new realignment will be football only.
