  1. What's been the scores in Dayton's games?
  2. Crosby 8th grade A won 19-7. I'll try to get the B team score from my son.
  3. Crosby 8th A&B vs Highlands today at Cougar Stadium. Game times are at 5:30 p.m. and 7
  4. 8th grade A Crosby - 33 Horace Mann: 0 8th grade B team Crosby: 13 Horace Mann : 12 How did Dayton look? Also, is the kid with the neck injury they took off the field ok? I never saw him move before the ambulance came and was just hoping he's ok. I think he was #22?
  5. Crosby 8th grade plays Horace Mann at 5pm and 6:30 @ Sterling High School.
  6. My son is friends with #24 from Gentry last year(I don't mention names until high school), and he also told me that he transferred to Highlands. Don't know about #25 which was the other back but #24 which was the beast of the two does go to Highlands now.
  7. 8th grade A Crosby - 25 BH South - 16 Final
  8. Crosby 8th A - 38 Cedar Bayou - 0 Final
  9. Crosby 8th A - 22 Cedar Bayou - 0 Half Crosby's little rb may have 250 yards already.
  10. Well, if everyone stays healthy this year I think Crosby has a good chance to win district. Last year our qb got hurt against Gentry and was out for the season and the little cubs were never the same. The trigger man is back and the summer weight program looked like it did a lot for the kids size and strength wise. Crosby has three or four horses and is huge on the line for an 8th grade squad. Crosby opens with Cedar Bayou today at Sterling High School. This will be my young cub's 2nd year playing football so I'm hoping he plays closer to his athletic potential than he did last year. Mine will of course be wearing #14 this year and every other. I'm not sure what he's really supposed to be doing but he's playing receiver, defensive end, returning kicks and his coach told me he might be asked to play offensive tackle so I guess I'll just find out tomorrow.
  11. Crosby has had a Wal-Mart since I moved there in '89. We were excited about the super Wal-Mart they built several years ago though. I'm not even sure people showed up to the groundbreaking of the new school behind Wal-Mart. Unlike schools in Baytown we're actually good at high school football which may be the reason people are more focused on that right now.
  12. They actually dropped his star ranking before his senior season started after the camp circuit. My wife is from Sherman which is not too far from Whitewright. While we were up there visiting on time my brother in law told me I needed to see this big qb that was killing folks up there at this little 2a school. I highly doubted I was going to be impressed. I then watched him rush for almost 550 yards and 7tds and throw for like 150 against Tom Bean I believe. I saw him throw it 50+ yards on a rope rolling to his right and the kid just dropped it. Going 1-9 wasn't really his fault, his team was awful and some folks say they were saving him because he had already committed to UT and they knew he would early enroll. Probably still should have won more games, IJS in his defense those were the issues.
  13. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. In the initial ESPN rankings he was rated a 5* and the number 9 prospect overall in the country. After the Elite 11 camp at the Opening he was reclassified at an "athlete" and given 4 stars.   He was never a three star anything, this is his rating when he signed with Texas - [Hidden Content]   [Hidden Content]   [Hidden Content]   I can keep going but I think you get the point, know your stuff before you make definitive statements
  14. Swoopes actually was rated as a 5 star by ESPN who are the hardest recruiting service to get the 5th star from. He was reclassified as an "athlete" after the Opening in Oregon where he couldn't hit the side of a barn. He was the #1 dual-threat qb in the state before that camp, much like Heard is now. Heard's performance was also sub-par at the Opening though.
  15. I actually had JT Barrett and Kohl Stewart ahead of Kenny Hill in that class. Had he not torn his ACL his senior year he would have played last year over Guiton when Miller went down. OSU's players are so much better than everyone else's in that conference I doubt it matters who plays qb for the As long as he's relatively competent.
  16. Looks like it's only a matter of time until Kyle Allen is headed back out west. Like I was saying when they signed him, barring injury he would never take a regular season snap for the Aggies. Texas had the same thing happen with Connor Brewer. It seems like qbs from out west have a hard time beating out the southern kids who are most times ranked below them. I wonder if he'll even wait until Murray gets there in January to announce it?
  17. Texas picks up a major receiver in John Burt and a defensive tackle in Du'Vate Lampkin. Here comes uncle Charlie. [Hidden Content]
  18. Louis Brown and Holton Hill were the contingency plans if he didn't get Sheffield or Lockhart. I'm not sure why a DE from Ennis would have bearing on a LB from east Dallas but ok. Sheffield, much like Lodge and Keke were lifelong Horn wannabes until Mack got fired. A&M has never gotten high level talent from the inner city in Dallas and especially Houston until Sumlin cam because like McKinney said he "relates" in a different type of way. He'll only keep "relating" for so long until kids want to see actual trophies and not just hear Drake talk about them. Like I said though, Charlie is far from out on Sheffield and Jefferson even if he commits as you can see from Mack going to take an official visit at Texas.
  19. Strong flips Baylor's top defensive commit in Louis Brown. Good get for the Horns, kid has a little Jason Pierre-Paul to him [Hidden Content] Don't be surprised if he picks up Du'Vante Lampkin, Anthony Wheeler and Tyler Moore shortly. I also thinks he picks up Malik Jefferson and Kendall Sheffield later in the cycle.
  20. Baylor has had more kids drafted in the last 4 years than any other program in Texas. Guys like Cannon, Hall, Billings, and Williams aren't leftovers. Neither were their first round draft picks like RG3, Jason Smith, Danny Watkins, Phil Taylor, and Kendall Wright. Not to mention Josh Gordon who was the best receiver in the league last year plus Terrance Williams who's solid for the Cowboys. Fact of the matter is that Briles recruits better to his system than any other coach in the state.
  21. Yeah, you're right. Maybe the staff decided not to slow the growth of Swoopes and Heard, they have to know Ash won't make it through the season? From the sounds of it though, they were pleased with what Ash had done so far on the Spring. I just think in today's recruiting game it's too coincidental that Gentry commits on the 12th and you get this tweet on the 14th. Part of the pitch perhaps?
  22. This is the reason. I'm not sure why he's projected as a pocket passer, but IMO he's the 3rd or 4th best dual-threat qb behind Murray and Gibson. [Hidden Content]
  23. Shaq Cleare, Cameron Ridley, AND Myles Turner. I think that front court would make Calipari jealous. Barnes has got to do something with this squad or he might be done.
