Kingwood Park ::) ::)
BH over Crosby? :o
It says they're Denny is supposed to join O'Neal for his 4th year as a starter in BH's ''high powered offense''. Very disrespectful. I guess BH has somebody on the Chronicle staff too?

 3.
Larry Porter , Texas Running back coach was recruiting him to play RB .. that told him he would be a big part of the offense in the future .
That's interesting, he's the third running back to commit in UT's class and I know they already have 5 offers out to the loaded class of 2015 backs. I thought they were recruiting him as a safety. Good luck to him.

Would have been hard to pass on the opportunity to play the Mike at OU and maybe even for a national championship but I said several months ago that the perfect fit for him IMO would be playing inside in a 3-4 scheme and that's the type defense Tech runs. Tech is in desperate need for recruits like Dakota and he should be in the mix as a freshman barring injury. He tested well enough where he should be able to stay on the field in the nickel coverages they're so fond of in the Big 12. Him and kahlee Woods should hold down the middle for a while. Tech had a good D last year but I think it was more staff than talent. Kingsburry is putting together some good classes though as you can see from the one that Dakota's in. Good luck to him, they got a couple more to put in the pen on the South Plains now.
I think OU was trying to recruit Dakota as an OLB, not sure how much that affected his decision but an OLB in a 4-3 is fairly different than an ILB in a 3-4, especially defending against a spread offense.
Dakota is already close to 230 lbs. I doubt they're recruiting a kid that size already to play on the outside. Most teams are going to run a 3-3-5 vs vs the spread on early downs anyway. There's only one Mike at OU vs 2 ILBs in Tech's D. It would be a lot harder to get on the field at OU also which probably figured into his decision. Whitley and Scott are playing on the inside and they're smaller and faster than Dakota. There's just more spots available at Tech.

 7. What it all comes down to is that the people in the DFW care more. Do THEIR fans care more than than the people on THIS board, maybe not but in general as a community they do. There are only 4 or 5 facilities worth noting in the Houston/SETX area total to the DFW's 10 or 15. Better facilities means more random fans which equals more community support that leads to more participation and a better product on the field. The Metroplex also has a different philosophy on schools it seems like too. A lot of the metro communities only have one school. DeSoto, Southlake, Euless, Cedar Hill, Longview,  and Allen all have one school for the whole community. I think Arlington only has 6 with almost 400k people, Beaumont and Goose Creek both have 3 with less than 100k people. Which one is going to have the better product? There's 10 PNG's support wise in the metroplex also. My cousin played qb at Bowie and when the played just a regular district game they would fill UTA's stadium about 3/4 or more. I watched Trinity play Carroll at Texas Stadium and I swear Trinity had the entire bottom half of their section full and several thousand in the upper deck. I watched Timberview play Summit and it was standing room only. Yeah, MCM gets those kinds of crowds and I watched NS play Katy under similar conditions but these are random games I attended. It's not hard to pass bonds when the people voting actually come to the stadium. The DFW is also progressive and corporate while this region is more conservative and labor oriented. What all this basically leads to is better facilities for them and more championships while we hang our hats on one or two power-houses most years that are the only real title contenders. Then to pile it on they smoke us in recruiting. Oh well, at least we have Katy and La Marque.

 10.
Nederland ( if they would of considered Beaumont Area teams ) would of been probably #6 on this list...
. . . And they would fall out right after the first game of the season. I think we're going to make it 3-1 against Ned our last four meetings. It was our first game with a first time head coach and no spring ball in Nederland. I think we're going to knock off the 20-4a district champs week one and sweep the bi-district in round one.
 11. This is actually the preseason all-state ''super'' team which is a notch above the regular all-state teams because it includes all players regardless of classification. They just took the highest rated in the state at each position instead of how the Sport Writers judge based on production it looks like to me though.

BH was 9-0, the Eagle faithful voted 47 times apiece to make it the game of the week, set a then attendance record, had '' 3 running backs with over 600 yards'' and I was an ''idiot'' for thinking we could stop the dive play. . . . .
You got it! Austin ran for 258 on 17 carries last year and that's with a 60 yarder called back. He has almost 400 rushing yards in two games against BH. I'm expecting another 200+ yard performance when we open district play in Mont Belvieu. We open district with BH, Dayton, and SC so I'm not sure how much Roirdan will work Austin but you can expect to start 0-1 in district again this year.  :)

 16.
Who's the freshman receiver ? If it's Hudson isn't he a sophmore.I would think a freshman wouldn't get much playing time with Singleton,Lee,Allen,Hudson,Morales & even Kyle Williams at receivers.Maybe JV and bring him up later in the season
It's the 8th grade qb from last year, Manny Netherly. He's about 6-2 or 6-3 already and the second fastest kid in the freshman class behind Taylor Perry. I was thinking the same thing about not having a fourth receiver already up but as of now the only receiver spots locked down are Singleton, Lee, and Hudson. Manny is just like Raelon but he'll faster. Kyle is probably going to play in the secondary. Don't be surprised if you see Perry up later in the year or playoff time either, he's playing receiver now on the freshman squad but I think he's going to eventually be playing running back. Crosby might struggle to make the playoffs in '14 depending on how good Tristan Cotton can be but if they do our streak will probably pushed to 11 or 12 straight appearances 'cause we have some serious talent behind that class.
 17. Congratulations to Tony Brown for becoming the first ESPN 5-star player from the SETX region. ESPN doesn't rate as many players as the other recruiting services and they only give out 10-15 5-star rankings per year. I think Tony is one of the select few kids in every class that can make an NFL roster right out of high school. Congrats to him, he should be the next in a long line of Beaumont products in the NFL. 22.
I'm glad Crosby plays there worst game of the year every year against Dayton. Also Denny did play against Dayton just got knocked out of the game. Dayton had 2 losses and both were against top 15 teams. I will admit that Crosby did win a playoff game where Dayton failed to. But look who Crosby got to play. Crosby played a 4 seed and won in overtime and Dayton got beat by Ned who played in the regional championship.
Y'all do beat us most years, and most years we beat the teams that beat y'all. For instance when BH and Memorial slapped y'all around a few years ago we beat the both, Flannigan blew a 10 point lead against Lee with less than three mins. in the game or we would have 2 of the last 4 district titles to Dayton's one. We one loss to a team ranked outside the top 10 which was SC and lost to state semi-finalist Manor who would have blown the doors off Ned just like Georgetown did. Crosby and Ozen in football and basketball are are tough games no matter the record, i doubt the way Dayton looked the last three weeks of the season they would have beaten anybody in the playoffs. For the first time in a while Dayton had to play division 1 also, that's why you got Ned who we took out the last two times we played them in the playoffs. If KP doesn't make it y'all will be d1 again and probably get Ned for a second straight year like we used to.  Once the film was in and y'all couldn't throw deep routes y'all became the worst of the four playoff teams and the only one to lose in bi-district.
That game was a disgrace to Texas High School Football. It should have never been that close. On the opening kick Crosby drove right down the field inside the 5 and they called two or three phantom penalties on us to back us up. Next there was a ''muffed'' punt Walter never touched, three refs got together and said Crosby ball while a single ref got super demonstrative flailing his arms pointing towards KP. The replay showed he never touched it. After that KP got a touchdown where the kid fell out of the side of the end zone on KP's side and was juggling ball, the kid never had it until he was laying on his back out of bounds. When they showed the replay even the KP fans went ''oooohhh'' because they know they got a gift. I bet we only had 3 possesions in the first half because of that horrible officiating. Somebody from Crosby even sent the tape to the UIL. Everytime we broke a run they called it back, both of the twins would have rushed for over 200 yards. KP was playing for their playoff life and it seemed like the refs knew it. Our o-line was blasting people of the ball and pancaking them and they called us for holding probably ten times. Throw in the phantom ''muff'' on the punt and another fumble deep in our own territory where Aston's knee was down and the refs were just a flat out disgrace to competition. Look at the penalty disparity and box score. Our kicker made his fg and theirs didn't, seemed like karma all worked out in the end. We'll blow the doors of KP in Cougar Stadium this year. [Hidden Content]
Have to agree with you on the officiating ! I was along the endzone fenceline when the TD reception was called. It wasn't even close.Still the Crosby defense was flat in the 1st half and couldn't stop the KP ground game led by 2nd string QB Ducoff.Again no defensive adjustments were made until the 2nd half.
Even still with no defensive adjustments they had probably 150 total yards in the first half and less than 100 in the second. Hard to keep them off the board when the ref keeps giving them the ball. They probably had 6 posessions in the first half, defense held them to under 4 ypc on 37 attempts whereas say Dayton for instance they averaged over 5ypc and had nearly 100 more yards which was equal to Dayton's output for the game. Crosby's defensive coordinator is awful as you can see from the Dayton game last year when he wouldn't adjust and the Manor game where he got spotted an 11 point lead and blew that in the second half probably costing us a regional title. The KP game was garbage but I'd rather squeak by them instead of BH any day.
Just like Dayton squeaked by Crosby right? 45-21 enough said.
Probably should have saved some of that so you could have crossed the 50 yardline on SC before they put the slaps in. Better yet saved another for the beatdown the week after against Ned. And if Denny would have played before those two y'all would have been three and out just like New Caney's ooffensive.
well dang, that must mean Crosby really sucked since Dayton beat Crosby like a red headed stepchild.
It was our worst game and y'alls best. We did suck that night though, Dayton just sucked the rest of the season.
Probably should have saved some of that so you could have crossed the 50 yardline on SC before they put the slaps in. Better yet saved another for the beatdown the week after against Ned. And if Denny would have played before those two y'all would have been three and out just like New Caney's ooffensive.
