Dakota should play at TCU or OU, Sharp should go to Baylor, K-St, or I've been reading he's leaning Miss St as of late but it could just be from camp. I don't know even if Aaron has a big season if he'll get any bigger offers, most of the top programs already have their guy.
When the number 1 team in the state and most dominant 4a squad in the region loses it is pretty stunning. I know SC is ranked higher but I still think Dawson is the D1 favorite.
It didn't stun me when Ned beat Dawson (in fact I predicted a 20-17 Ned win, which was surprisingly close). About halfway into the regular season Dawson was getting really sloppy with turnovers, penalties, and giving up a lot of points. I'm not sure why the went to the post season ranked #1 when they barely got away with a win against TC.
The two teams TC lost to were a combined 25-2, TC was a beast last year and if they beat Dawson they should enter the post season undefeated this year. They also play in the 2nd hardest district in the region IMO. They have almost 1700 kids and they're the smallest school in the district. TC and Marshall would probably be the d2 favorites but they will likely have to play each other in the second round again. . . . Which could allow Code Red to sneak in. :)

SC vs Ned in region 3 final is a bold prediction.
SC will be watching NED in the Region 3 final maybe, but they wont be playing in it.
Ya'll we might as well not even play this year, SC has already been fitted for their rings after all  ::) SC won't make it out of the second round.....again.
Imagine SC without Sharp, that's what Georgetown will be this year with the loss of Hubanek. Lot harder to replace a qb in a passing offense vs one more run oriented. Only thing standing in the way of a regional crown for SC is Dawson and maybe Conally or a devastating injury. Dawson was over rated last year because of their 2011 success, this year they're being under rated because of a 3rd round loss. Dawson has the best o-line and other than Armanti Foreman probably has the best offensive 4a player in the region in Tony Upchurch. We'll see what happens though.

I believe they'll get to 13-1 or better, no worse than 12-2 though.

Division 1, same as last year. 2nd round for the title.
I actually think Cedar Park is the favorite in D2 rather Aledo goes or not. 16 returning starters from a state title team. IMO Cedar Park would have beaten Guyer. WF Ryder is high, Marshall and Dawson are low on the poll. I think Dawson is top 5 when the AP poll comes out though.
I don't think Cedar Park would have beaten Guyer last year, I think they would this upcoming season if they played. I think Aledo is top 10, just not #3. Dawson is just a wee bit overrated, they have they players to win it all its just that they played too sloppy last season and a few of the players would throw tantrums when something didn't go their way. If they can tighten things up next season then I don't think anyone in 4a will be able to stop them.
IDK, Guyer was blown out twice last year while Cedar Park's two 5a losses were to semi-finalist austint westlake and and 3 point loss to abeliene cooper who has one of the most dynamic players in the state in lorenzo joe. i think cedar park is the katy of 4a, they can win d1 or d2 title. no way to ever know but i think cedar park would have gotten them. dawson has the most starters in the district coming back from playoff teams to i think they the favorites to represent region 3 in d1.

 8. Somebody please black North Shore's name in at number 7. Just because we don't have NS posters doesn't mean they shouldn't get some love. La Porte is south of I-10 and they still gets love, at least North Shore is truly east.
 9. I thought there were only a few main things for football. 1. Six man wnt to 1A therefore everybody moves up a classification. 2. 3A and 2A get four teams in like 4 and 5A. 3. All playoff games can be televised. I'm sure there's more but I thought those were the main ones that applied to football? I could be mistaken though so don't quote that.
 10. Dakota must be waiting on a UT offer. I see Oklahoma just gave him his best offer so far. Playing under Bob and Mark Stoops, two of the better defensive minds in the country, could be extremely beneficial if he wanted to play after college. I also see Sharp picked up an offer from Michigan St. Taylor Martinez is graduating after this year so beyond that I would say after the Braxton Miller/JT Barrett combo at Ohio St. Sharp would be the most athletic qb in the Big 10. Do you want to play half your games in 25 degredegrees though?
 11.

High School coaching salaries ...should they make more?  No, there's way too much emphasis as it is on sports in grade school. Imagine what we'd be if only half the same emphasis and pressure were put on reading, writing, math and science. This is not college where if they win, it could mean millions to their schools. How about the players? I have never said this on a message board before, but dumb question. See answer above. These are children and sports should ALWAYS be secondary to education because the chances that any of them will play professionally (or at any other level beyond HS) are way too slim.
I agree!
Teachers and Coaches pay levels should be performance based. Like most jobs.
1st - how do you judge performance in a classroom? Lets even the playing field...every student in the school must be allowed on the team, and every kid must get equal playing time...like in the classroom 2nd - IF parents would work with their kids at home on academics as they do sports this wouldn't be an issue. 3rd - there's a reason why they are called STUDENT athletes in that order, how does the commercial go...400 some odd thousand NCAA athletes (more in HS) and MOST of us will be going pro in something other than sports... 4th - one of the dumbest things I've ever heard was that sports give opportunities to some kids to get an education that otherwise wouldn't even stay in school....priorities are JACKED UP! from parents, teachers, coaches alike, if this mid set is whats being taught or depended on.
That is a stupid statement if you live in The Woodlands or somewhere else where that type of stuff isn't an issue, I bet the folks ay Ozen or other places similar have a different view. I couldn't accept a scholarship offer because of grades so that tells you about my high school, I made the Dean's list my last semester of college and the only reason I got to that point was because I had to stay eligible to play. Same can be said for motivating a kid to make good grades in high school to even be able to receive a scholarship. I'm a democrat though so my views are probably wrong on this board. :(
 12. SCitis, they took down or re-doing Brandon Harris hudl film but if you would have compared those two you would see what I'm talking about. Harris' YouTube film is a little misleading. He is a more polished passer than Heard at this stage of their development, but Heard runs WAY better than Harris does and possesses a stronger arm with pretty good mechanics. Heard is also going to probably play in that 210-220 range which is a plus for durability. Heard had offers after his sophomore year when Guyer was in 5a and lost in the second round. Colbert just lost in the 5A D1 title game and doesn't have a single BCS offer. Maybe you can say Bonney is hype but I think he can play. I think Heard is the next Steve McNair, only problem with that is if Swoopes gets it figured out he's probably the next Cam Newton and Jerrod doesn't play much unless Ty leaves early.
Enrollments as of October 2012: Summer Creek 2186 Humble 1483 Humble is not moving up anytime soon. SC - pretty likely. Rest of 19-4A: Crosby 1482 Dayton 1391 Houston King 1794 Humble 1483 Humble Kingwood Park 1681 Mt Belvieu Barbers Hill 1297 New Caney 1421 New Caney Porter 1493 SC is about 50% larger than the average of the other 19-4A schools. At almost 2200, SC is in the same range as La Porte, PAM, Manvel. One of the big differences between SC and those three is that La Porte, PAM and Manvel have all won three or more playoff games in a single season.
Link the site for me please. I'm going with the best 4a back and receiver in the region though. Austin Walter (rb) Crosby, 1976 yards last year and over 10 ypc. Armanti Foreman (wr) Texas City, only kid with film comparable to Austin's.

Most likely they wil win state again this year unless they have some injuries. I think Texas City with the Foreman twins could end up being the best 4a team in the region though.
I think Texas City will be the favorite in 24-4a. I'm thinking the AP will have SC, Ned, and Elgin in the preseason top ten from R3. Dawson, Texas City, and Marshall should get votes.
Dawson will be in for sure. They have the most kids returning of all the 24-4a playoff teams. Marshall was 13-1 last year and hammered TC in the second round, they beat Elgin in the next round and their only loss was in the regional championship. I think Marshall lost a couple receivers but their backs and qb were sophomores. Had it not been for Marshall having to play Manor in the alamodome i think they would have won the region. How the UIL allow the region 3 championship to be held in the heart of region 4 in San Antonio baffles me but that's another story. Ned will get some votes but they lost at least 9 starters i can count so they won't be. I think Elgin returns the most starters in the region and will probably be top ten and they say Terel Simmons is supposed to be the best player in Austin even though i personally think it's Perine. District 17-4a is an Austin district so i really don't count them as truly being from the region since they only play here every other alignment.
Aaron is dealing with the same thing as Johnny Football. He wants to be a Longhorn but they already have a commitment from the top qb in the state and in my opinion from watching the film the 2nd best dual threat in the country behind deshawn watson. Sharp plays the game well from the head up and moves well but he's a little thin and arm strength could be an issue in a vertical passing game. He runs well and is fast but he's not a natural runner like Heard who rushed and passed for over 2000 yards. Heard also has a cannon attached to his shoulder where Sharp's strength is accuracy instead. If he's worried about committing to Baylor because of Randall Cunningham who has never even thrown for a 1000 yards he'll really be looking over his shoulder because UT is usually going to get the best qb that stays in-state. Over street was never going to play qb either, they just didn't want him to go to Michigan so they told him he would get a shot. Connor Brewer was the number one qb in the country before the all American game and will never take a snap at Texas.
Correct. He is not a natural runner, and that's by choice I believe....I'm hearing Baylor doesn't want Sharp as QB because they want Randall Cunningham....and IMO I don't know what film you watched, but Heard is not #2, he has an arm but not consistently accurate .....Brandon Harris is wayyyy better than Heard
Girl what film are YOU watching? Heard is rated #1 in the composite rankings which take all the recruiting services into account but Harris is #1 on 247. Harris is a one year starter but he is on a good team yet and still he's not playing the level of competition Heard is. You do know year before last Denton Guyer was 5a playing the likes of Cedar Hill, Copell, and Southlake Carroll with a 4a enrollment and went to the second round with Heard throwing for over 2200 as a sophomore. If I was Sharp and wanted an in-state opportunity I would go to Baylor and try to beat out what they have on the roster and a potential Randall Cunningham, plus the offense suits him a lot better. I'm not sure which one is the top guy but they already have offers out to 2015 qbs. Chason Virgil IMO is the one they really want, I think Stidham is system-esque. K-Sate is probably Aaron's best option though, Bill Snyder has a goot track record of working with Texas HS dual-threats with the likes of Baytown Lee's Ell Roberson and Willis' Michael Bishop. Bishop was an all-american and won the Davey O'Brien as the nations best qb under Snyder. *Just a sidenote. You tell me a better runner of the football from the qb spot in the country. First play of the film says it all in the state championship game on SC's nemesis, runs slap over a kid and knocks him out. 2138 rushing yards and 35 tds for the future Horn. [Hidden Content]

Tyrone Swoopes moved him further down the depth chart. Kyle Allen who A&M just got is the same way, west coast Arizona guy who plays the equivalent of 3a and has designated reads. My cousin, Kenny Vaccaro and Alex Okafor all got arrested and didn't miss a game. Brewer played in what i consider an SC-like super spread and piled up good numbers but it was more system than player. I think UT is flat out loaded with Swoopes and Heard. I see wanting a look but why not go where you're wanted instead?

Atascocita was plagued with an incompetent Head coach for the first 6 years of its existence.  They produced what you would expect a Colbert team to produce.    Anyone familiar with Colbert will tell you that the man was more a determent to development of game plans then a contributor.
AHS is 26-25 since they've had seniors. Have only won more than 5 games once. All you do is make excuses for why Humble ISD has so much talent but can't win games other than SC. I don't care how unsetteled the area is, if you have talent you should average more than 4 wins a season which Atascosita does. Humble high will only win 2 district games again this year but i guess the area is growing or the program doesn't have its footing? I guess opening SC ruined every football team in the district?
recognizing problems is not making excuses, it is viable and logical explanation.  Look at Humble before the splits, they were a Top 7-8 5A R3 team most years... Nationally ranked twice in the 10 year prior, and consistently in the top 25 state wide.    what changed?  Splitting the school in half in 2006, then taking 1/3  out in 2009 for SC.  The Second hurt worst then the first due to the unacceptable rating and the gutting of our 2012 and 2013 depth and losing kids like Sharp and Dakota Allen to transfers.  The loss of Sharp alone was devastating.  Humble with Sharp is every bit as good as SC if not better.  Sharp makes that offense run like it does for SC, without him...they can't run that offense.  They revert back to Coach Ford's general fascination with the old North Shore offense....bland and safe.  Sharp allows you to do so much, and that kids football IQ is off the charts for the High School level.  Watch the film, this kid is asked to make reads that you don't typically expect HS QB's to make.  Kid is really special.    Kids like Sharp don't come along in an area very often.  Humble will win more then 2 games, and will be improving a lot over the next 2 years.  It won't be long before we are back in 5a(6a)
If Sharp played for humble they wouldn't have scored 46 more points than they on us. Conversely i don't think that SC would have only won the two district games humble did if sharp wasn't there. Get out of the past, the only reason humble was a top team in the region because other than NS and Westfield maybe they had the highest enrollment. Same reason NS, Skyline, Allen and Westfield are always good, they just have more people than everybody else. The times you're talking about humble being good was the same time when they had one of the largest enrollment in the state. Cut that to a still above average 4a enrollment and y'all aren't even competitive. Much like north forest, your athletes look good but they may need to change districts to be relevant agian.
