Crosby loses a bunch of games in middle school for whatever reason, plus report cards came out. I said dunking a basketball because if you show me a kid barely 6' dunking at that age i'll show you an explosive athlete. Jumping is a lot like a power clean, it's a good barometer of overall athleticism. Haven't ended a football season before the playoffs started in 9 years. We are a dismal 31-1 the last two years in district play on the hardwood though including a 4th round loss last year so you got me there RH.
so your saying the 8th grade had 5 d1 players but they cant pass their classes.
They don't fail when they get to high school . . . .

And Crosby had the best o-line in the district last year and will again this year with us bringing back 4 of 5 starters but it's really like we lost none because we get back a kid that was hurt all last season who is probably our second best lineman. We should rush for something in the 4000 yard range this year.
crosby has everybody back and plays dayton at home. Please no excuses when dayton wins again. This better be the year crosby does it because if not it might be a while. Side note. Crosby will not rush for 4000 yds unless they go deep in the playoffs.
We rushed for over 3000 last year with Riordan refusing to give the ball to Austin some games which caused him to check out of games for stretches mentally. I think Austin gets around 22-2600 by himself with Aston throwing in another 9-1100. I think we could doit in 13 games. I'm not sure about it being a while after this year either, I think we probably lose in 2014 but the class that will be freshmen next year has another 5 d1 kids. 3 Of them were dunking last year in 8the grade and if you think Walter can run the ball picture Chance Casey with power 'cause that's who's next in line by the name of Taylor Perry. There's a receiver who's actually a football player first that will be bigger than Raelon and isone of the ones dunking already. The qb was the fastest kid in the middle school and is already over 6-2 with a cannon, he was the jv qb wearing number 18 during  7 on 7 if anybody saw. My son's class is also full of beast but i think the reason Crosby is starting to have a lot of these kids is because the enrollment is going up. The 80 something million dollar bond passed says the new school they're building is supposed to be able to house up to 2800 kids. I think my son's class has over 450 kids which tells me we're going to be close to 1800 enrollment by the time he graduates. Just like way back in the day when Crosby played for a state title and Dayton was pulling a vacuum, it switched during the Stewart era. Now it's about to switch back with Riordan and increased enrollment.

 5. According to Brian Perroni of 247Sports Sharp will make his commitment today. It's looking like it's down to K-St, Miss. St., and Utah to pick up the commitment from 2nd rated dual-threat qb in the state. I wonder if him and Dakota go as a package deal to K-St?
 6. Y'all know what it is, CODE RED 'TIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF. Graduated from Crosby, had some grade and attendance issues in high school so I had to take an offer to play rb at South Dakota State. Was the starter as a rs fresh. but couldn't steer clear of the law so I ended up graduating from Texas A&M-Commerce's school of economics. Probably should have taken one of my coaching opportunities instead though. Three little Cougar14s class of '19, '24, '27 with several nephews and cousins in between. I'll be here a while. 8)

I hope you're not talking about McBrides or anyrhing, I don't think Isaiah Chambers will either. What are the juniors names so I can check them out?
these kids you just mentioned have already been to a ut camp. One of them ran a 4.42. So i think yeah maybe they will go d1
UT has about 5 of those camps during the summer and 100's of kids come through. They're really more like combines to see who can do what.  We've had kids go to UT camps and others but most don't get d1 offers. They probably called about Keener so they could put a tape measure on him but they also ask the coaches who they think can play and that's how the majority of those kids get to camp. Depending on how big chambers is i think he could possibly play d1 too but McBride is tiny and needs to have Walter-like production to get an offer no matter how fast he is.

All of daytons talent was young. Just like sc the year before. All i can say is sc is one injury away from being a bubble team to make the playoffs. Quit worrying about dayton and hope your team stays healthy.
I'm talking about the last year and this year at Dayton.  No denying Dayton's lineage in the region and the quality of players from the program. Yes, SC is in hot water with an injury at one of a few positions.  They greatly need to identify their future QB and give that guy as much time as possible.
dayton put more kids in d1 last year than crosby. This year dayton has alot of juniors that will play d1. Talent was there effort and attitude wasnt. Also key injuries.
We didn't send anybody d1 last year. Should send 5 this year to make up for it though and Blackburn who was honorable mention all-state last year will probably play FCS. Other than a lineman I think Keener is the only skill position player going D1 that Dayton had on the roster last year.

Only playoff team y'all moved the ball on was us, we moved it every single game except Ned which was Roirdan's first game. Like I said, we played our worst and y'all played y'alls best. Y'all played 5 playoff teams last year and other than us you didn't have more than 239 total yards in any of them, y'all didn't even break 150 breaking on SC, Ned and BH. Y'all played one good game last year Zapril, come to terms with that like i have.

Jeffrey was one of the top sophs. in the state and he did it on the field, not during a cone drill. He did it with everybody in the entire stadium knowing he was getting it too. I thought SC was supposed to have all these good receivers in the pipeline, why is a kid that played rb on a 3 win team getting a starting spot at receiver where he's obviously having issues adjusting? Chatman says he could get 1000 yards on 10-15 carries which tells me he plans on averaging 9 ypc. I know there's smaller backs that do that but big backs such as Keevon Aldridge y'all had last year have a hard time getting going when the o-line doesn't create movement which SC's rarely does due to them practicing pass plays/ pass blocking all the time.
Aldridge had about 8 ypc last year even as a "Big Back". Clearly the o-line was good enough blocking for the run against district opponents.
What about the remaining 2 games after they got out of district?
54 yards on 12 rushes combined against Vidor and Gtown. 4.5 ypc. Not so great
Aldridge had 10 for 40 on us and 11 for 42 against BH. 24 for 96 yards on crosby and 19 for 79 Yards on BH. Y'all had a combined 43 carries for 175 yards in those two games as a team, barely over four yards per carry.

I saw  Georgetown no huddle spread offense dominate a good Nederland defense.  I believe that style of offense would help with the lack of their size and help open big plays in the run game. I don't know what Haynes runs. Does anybody have a idea?
When he was at Hardin they threw the ball around from what i saw. I don't know if that's what he bringing to Lumberton though.
If I'm not mistaken the year he was at Crosby he put together the top passing offense in the state averaging something like 340 ypg. I remember we lost pretty bad to La Marque but they blew everybody out on the way to one of their titles. Phillip Beck had over 2200 yards on over 120 catches and put up 320 on like 20 catches in a playoff game. Haynes had us clicking from the word go. Lets see if my theory on talent works here because I know the kids at Lumberton will probably work just as hard as the kids at Crosby did. 8)
I'm not even sure if Guyer or Cedar Park would move down with a loss because they're both such overwhelming favorites in 4A D1 and D2. They both play 3 5A playoff teams pre-district so one is almost sure to lose but don't expect the AP to put SC in front of either one of those teams, even with two losses like they both had last year.
 17.
Patrick Reed would be a good fit with New Mexico. He should commit
I think he should play receiver or safety at the next level if he has an NFL dream. New Mexico is pretty short on talent so they run an option attack to cover up some of their deficiencies. Only issue with that is option qbs usually don't develop as passers so a lot of times they don't even get a shot. He needs to use that length against dbs instead of being a big running target in an option offense. Good luck to him though.

If you didn't have a good SPARQ you would be a non-factor. For as great as you proclaim you're going to be, fact of the matter is you've never even scored a touchdown and might no even start as a junior. I'm not saying SC's o-line is bad but they're what I would consider a middle of the district unit, you're not a clear cut starter as either a soph. or junior which tells me you don't have elite running back skills, not even at your own school. You need a pretty high skill level to put numbers needed to garner D1 offers behind what y'all have over there. O'neal at BH is a lot bigger than you and had a decent season but got banged up in crucial games even though he was 225. Crosby put up nearly 500 yards on SC's defense and Vidor rushed for over 300 so don't take those runs in the spring game for more than what they're worth. I personally believe your best chance to play D1 is at outside LB much like Hoza Scott at La Porte. He also played some rb but that's just because he can at the high school level. Good luck though, you test well and you go to SC so if you can play at all you should get a look. Lets wait 'til you have a highlight tape before you get a thread though. 8)
Damn Cougar14, your a cold dude.  Now let me school you on TGSOT. SC had a deep rotation at RB since day 1. Chatman fit in best at TE last year. He's still a young guy and has two years of growing to do. Starting at SC is no easy task.  Getting time in your sophomore year is a big deal.  If Chatman has a big year, his profile will rise.  Let's see how he does at RB.
Y'alls rb rotation isn't deep at all. Y'all have big backs, don't mistake that for good backs. Rotating Chance Casey who had about 10 offers and Jakasay Evans is deep. SC lays on you with those big backs after they make you run wind sprints chasing those receivers. I doubt they could actually line up and enforce their will on you. We'll see what happens though. I'm not cold either, if he wants a thread he's going to get an evaluation. It's no different than I spoke about MQ or Pryor after seeing their camp stuff, I also think Hopkins is overrated just to throw it in there even though he had 1500 yards(I believe Pryor would have been a BCS guard if he was taller). I think Chatman will grow into a OLB personally. Sophs. start at NS,PAM,Katy and LP and its usually kids that test like Chatman did. I can probably spit you out 15 sophomore backs that were ballers from the region in recent history and that's just 4 and 5A. Only the elite get offers to play qb and rb at big time D1 programs. IJS, look at Donta Foreman's film and tell me if you think Chatman will do that next year because that's what is required to get a scholarship from Tulsa Junior College. 8)

Dakota should play at TCU or OU, Sharp should go to Baylor, K-St, or I've been reading he's leaning Miss St as of late but it could just be from camp. I don't know even if Aaron has a big season if he'll get any bigger offers, most of the top programs already have their guy.
Agree with your picks ...but offers and commits can be soft these days.  Everybody wants to win and loyalty doesn't trump winning.  Both guys have an entire season to shine ...it may increase or decrease their stock.  I see late commits from both players.  This verbal offer/verbal commit thing is really interesting.  I believe the NCAA pushed back National Signing Day to February and it started all this verbal offer business.  If SC has the season they should, both Sharp and Allen can sing "Back Then They Didn't Want Me, Now I'm Hot They All On Me!"
I don't think it's going to get bigger than OU for Dakota, he's somewhat limited by his height. The SEC could come calling late with decommitments but he needs to get a spot in a recruiting class in case he gets injured during the offseason or next year. Dakota could still impress recruiters with his versatility and production next year, it doesn't get much better than what Sharp did last year. You have to remember guys like Hubanek and KD Baker threw for well over 4000 yards and weren't very highly recruited after playing in state title games so unless there's a decommit somewhere I don't think Sharp can be anymore impressive than a nearly 6 to 1 td to pick ratio over his career. It's just a rough year to be a qb with all the talent around the country. What I would be worried about is why Baylor told Sharp they wanted him as a receiver but offered a qb scholarship to a kid that was a backup last year and hasn't started a varsity game. LSU feels the same way though which tells me there's either a consensus on his arm strength or mechanics by the big schools.
Keep it real Cougar14, don't just say "a kid"  , let everybody know that's RANDALL CUNNINGHAM JR. Son of Ex-NFL PHILADELPHIA QB RANDALL CUNNINGHAM  ;)
i havent heard any kind of hype about that kid other than he is the son of the legendary QB.
He doesn't need hype....he has the name
Joe Montana's kid had "the name" also ;)
All I'm saying is this. The guy wins the 200 meter dash in class 4a in Texas which tells me even before I lay eyes on him that he's one of the best athletes in the country, not just the state because other than maybe 5a, Cali or Florida there's probably not many faster kids in the United States at that distance. He's 6-3 and had better than a 6-1 td to int ratio last year to go along with over 6000 career passing yards. Oh yeah, he's just a junior. These people know what they're doing and Art Briles isn't going to compromise his program for a name. What is Aaron going to do if RCII commits to Utah? They both have offers to three of the same schools matter of fact.

They're dead last in the district in talent and don't have the enrollment to make up for it. You could put Gary Joseph over there and still not get to .500. Until NC benefits from the growth in the area they'll be competing with Porter for last unless they realign to district 18.
If this is true, Barbers Hill shouldn't compete either.  Talent is important, but its not everything at the high school level.  Discipline, preparation, and execution can win you a lot of games.  Look at Katy.  They run their machine and win ...but not many D1's compared to other schools like North Shore, Manvel
BH has a heck of a lot more talent than New Caney. They have a four year starter at qb who's a UT commit in baseball, the best rb in the district behind Walter and Jeffery, and last year they had the best lb in the district with Garrett Dolan in my opinion. Katy doesn't have a bunch of D1 talent but what they do have are huge offensive linemen and big backs that rush for 2000 yards most years like Dean, Young and Taylor. People on this forum always talk about hard work like the other kids aren't working just as hard. The kids at Crosby were throwing up on themselves while they were running this week but you're not going to hear me talking about how hard they're working because I know the kids at Dayton, BH, and SC are working just as hard. Coaching and talent are the most important things at the high school level. BH much like Deer Park is going to dump all the funds they need to support their program and most times you get decent results with that method, that's why BH is better than most others on the sub-high school level. It may get you to the playoffs but most years you won't have the horses to be a threat.
