A pass catching running back and a slot receiver could be exactly what they need. They want to go to a "smart" school which is why I'm kind of surprised Northwestern didn't offer. I know they were all over Austin but maybe Aston wasn't their cup of tea?

Throw in the fact that they're about the size of Ozen and lose the to the eventual state champ about 50% of the time and other than La Marque who has multiple titles nobody in region 3 compares. When is the last time a 4A school other than La Marque won a title from this region? Unless you have multiple titles I think Calallen's success is untouched. 

According to 247 sports Crosby ILB Chase Nix is on the verge of a University of Nevada offer. The report said he looked impressive at the 7 on 7 this past weekend and measured at 6-2 220lbs. If he does get an offer Crosby could potentially have 5 D1 recruits. I say 5 because I believe if Cullen Lee stays healthy he will get a D1 scholarship at receiver. He was the most impressive receiver to me besides the kid from Kincaid, plus it's hard to pass on a kid that's already about 6-3 and 200lbs.

Katy is far from the most talented 5A teams in the state, they just probably have the best coach and program.

Celina has the 8 state titles but Corpus Christi Calallen has been to the playoffs 27 straight years and to the second round or better 26 times. I think I would take a quarter century of dominating the southern bend over a single title.

This coming from a dedicated Texas fan, Ash will start through 2014 because it is highly unlikely he would leave to the nfl after his junior year even if he put up impressive stats. Ash doesnt have the skill set that most nfl teams look at and even if he is really good I doubt he gets better than a 3rd round grade even after his senior year. Both Sharp and Heard look about the same physically, about the same weight with the former about a half inch to an inch taller and have slender frames that they would both fill out. On the athleticism side, Heard is in the high 4.4's in the forty and Sharp is in the low 4.5's, though Heard is a more polished ball carrier. Where I think Sharp wins is his composure and patience in waiting for his receivers to get open down field, where Heard looks like he gives up on the play really quickly and takes off for the first down (Admittedly, he is really good at that, so I don't criticize that too much). Also, Heard benefited quite a bit in 2011 and 2012 from excellent blocking, which Sharp really hasn't had quite the same luxury, so I think Sharp has more experience in making something out of a broken play and with his arm more often than his legs. Additionally, Sharp's passes are noticeably more accurate than Heard's from what I've seen of both of them. Look at it this way, in 2015, both Heard and Sharp are going into their RS freshman year and both go into spring practice on relatively equal standing, with Swoopes being the front runner after being Ash's backup the year before. There is a strong chance that Swoopes won't improve his arm enough by then, making Heard/Sharp a more attractive option after showing what they can do in the spring scrimmage. The coaching staff will probably call it a close race between the two for the start, but ultimately Sharp will prove that he is a better fit to run Applewhite's offense. Again, I could be extremely biased here and just really want to see Sharp in burnt orange. Both those guys have really high potential, but I think if Sharp ties up the loose ends he will be untouchable. JF is good but it's Sumlin's offense that's letting him shine, that's why they have guys like Bridgewater and Boyd ahead of him right now.

State title wise it's Celina hands down. Far as overall consistency I would have to go with CC Calallen.

I'm saying the schedule is a heck of a lot harder in the SEC west than it is in the Big 12. They must like him out west because I see UCLA has him pretty high on their list and you said Arizona St. could offer. That's four potential PAC 12 offers with Colorado and Utah. Still hard to beat Baylor though.

I didn't see a bunch of calls against PNG but I didn't watch all their games. I didn't see any issues when they played us though. If anybody had issues it was Crosby2, GCM and Huffman. I was kind of surprised with the language the refs let them use. I'm not sure why PNG left now but at the time I thought they were out.

[/quote]School taxes go from 1.4% to over 1.7% per $100 of property valuation. I believe the athletic part of the bond is around 9.5 million which happens in what they called a second phase. The stadium is being expanded in the next couple of years think. I hear they were going to do like Dayton and just switch the home and visitor sides. 

Crosby just unoficially passed an $86.5 million dollar school bond. I believe the official vote was today. New high school behind wal-mart and stadium expansion among other things. Should become one of the nicer facilities in the district.

7 on 7 doesn't mean much but it gives you an opportunity to really see kids speed and agility. The Kincaid qb is a beast and only a sophomore. I think if we had Darion Gray we could have the best offense in the state, the kid is that good. Our #2 receiver, Cullen Lee, was listed at 6-3 and 190 last year but he looks even bigger and more refined which is exciting. If he runs well he could get an fbs offer. Remember the name Shamal Gray though, kid has playmaker written all over him.  He's only going to be a freshman next year but we didn't have 4 dbs that looked better IMO.

Our #1 lost to kincaid in the semis or at least thats what i thought when i left. The PNG kids got ribbons after the tournament at the middle school.
