Donovonn Young.
So thats why you so envious of Katy, wasnt he at Humble before he transferred? Makes sense now.  ::)
Donovan Young wouldn't have played at North Shore. They had Tracy Woods and Tim Cornett who went to Miami(OH) and UNLV. Cornett was the backup at North Shore and started as a true freshman at UNLV.
Yes he would of.  D. Young could of started for what ever school he wanted to.  He was a freak of nature.  When he showed up at Humble as a freshman he was 5'11 190 lbs.  When he left katy he was 6'0 215lbs and ran 4.6.    That kid could ball.
What??? 6' 215 and 4.6. There's 50 kids like that walking down Wallisville right now.Cornett was 6' 190 and 4.4 and was the backup. T.Woods was the 200+ pound banger so no, Young wouldn't have gotten on the field much at all. We're talking about a kid who's second best offer was North Texas after rushing for 2000 yards. I guess you think Aundre Dean could play too. Adam Taylor is another back who won't do much in college. Don't think because these guys put up a bunch of yards behind offensive lines where they don't get touched until they're six yards down the field that they're big time backs. There's not a player on Katy's roster who could've started at North Shore this year besides Matt Dimon and a big guard they had.
No theres not.  This is a stupid argument.  you aren't going to submit to reason, instead you will side with ridiculous assumptions based on outcomes that encompass far more then just how tall and fast someone is.      Theirs more to a d1 prospect and recruiting then his raw ability.    DY  experienced "issues"  during his recruitment.  I can tell you in absolute confidence, everyone knocked on his front door.  In the world of recruiting though, coaches scare easy.... The lack of offers was not his fault directly, lets just put it that way.
I don't know what's worse, the fact that you are posting slander about a kid's family on this site, or that you say something as stupid as "can tell you in absolute confidence" right before you post on a public forum.  SMH
Donovan Young didn't get the offers because he's Micah Mosley and Aundre Dean. Very limited in what you can do with him. You can make all excuses for him you want. I know kids who have done jail time and still gotten D1 scholarships. He was only good enough to get the 1 BCS offer he got and that's just what that was, had he not gone to Katy and rushed for all those yards he probably a two stars back and goes to North Texas.

You must not be familiar with the level of athlete that this school district produces.  Urban Myer once called it the most fertile recruiting ground in Texas.  Don't mistaken having a Texas Legendary coach like David Aymond fool you into thinking that the talent at NS is unmatched.  their are very few areas in the state that have produced as much talent as ours. Bronco, I'm not knocking your son's friend but he's probably not good enough to play at NS which is the reason he doesn't like the coaching either.
Is this Katy's recruiting list or the NCAA's?
Here's Katy's recruiting list for the last decade. Not close to Humble and definitely not North Shore. Other than Andy Dalton there's not a familiar name on there to most people. [Hidden Content]
Gotta throw the flag on you right there Cougar14.  Northshore is still riding their state championship.   SC had several kids that could have either started or rotated.  You're not going to keep guys like State Track champion Greg Hogan on the sideline.  Torrey Johnson is a flat out play maker with exceptional hands.  You'd have to give him time.  So add Dakota & Aaron to the list ...we're at a handful.  There's a few more guys that I believe would see time as well ...just think they'd benefit from more individual time & coaching.
Riding a state championship? They won almost 80 district games in a row at one point. Is Greg Hogan playing over Alabama signee Deandrew White who was 4.3 all day in high school? Larry McDuffie was the other receiver and went to Houston. Hogan probably does rotate in but Dakota wouldn't start over Whitley who plays the same position he does at NS. Handful? Come on man, you have one for sure in Sharp and Peterson probably wouldn't start either unless he played center because both guards and tackles NS has now will play D1. Torrey Johnson is decent but he's probably the third receiver on NS's roster. As talented as you may believe SC is NS would put 50 on you on an off day and you would score less than you did on Georgetown. It has yet to be proven that the SC kids aren't just system kids like Lake Travis or Katy.

 5. Delusional about what part Bronco? I know you may think because Katy wins titles and often beats North Shore that the level of athlete may be similar but I'm here to tell you they're not in the same stratosphere  as these boys on the east side. Year in and year out North Shore and Dallas Skyline are the most talented teams in the state bar none. Since 1998 North Shore has had more d1 recruits than any other school in the state of Texas. If Gary Joseph coached over here NS would have have more titles than Katy does hands down.

 13. If we're being serious about the question I would have to go Cedar Park. 2010  13-1 lost in the regional finals to Lake Travis 2011  11-3 lost in the regional finals to Lake Travis 2012  14-2  Division 2 State Champs They're the 4a Katy. Probably going to be ranked preseason #1 in the AP poll and have 16 returning starters.
 14. I like camps, that's why I think the quality of play is where it is now on the sub-high school levels. I also like the full contact camps around the intermediate age, it gives kids that didn't play in a good little league or not at all a jump on the type contact he'll be seeing once all the restrictions are removed. The new Heads Up camps are pretty good about teaching proper technique which is most of what they do anyway. I'm also a huge fan of the new high school level camps you attend on university campuses. These can be a catch 22 however because while they seperate kids with comparable production on the field, they also expose the kids who've had great production but have been the benefactor of a good system or weaker competition. These camps are often the first time the local high school star is just a face in the crowd or a number on a jersey. Either way as previous poster have said, it's better than getting no work at all. My overall view is that camps do wonders for kids, even going to the smaller camps can get you a look which you may not have gotten otherwise. Coaches also talk, so if you're not a particular team's cup of tea a good word could be put in for you here or there.

If not, they are winless against Nederland as is the rest of this PHENOMENAL group you speak of...
Yeah, Austin got varsity carries as a freshman. He was also 13 years old due to them being a year early in school. Aston got moved up to the varsity at the end of the season and didn't play. I said absolutely nothing about phenomenal either. Ned beat us at home last year. We don't play well over there for some reason but ned doesn't play well over here either. Now you have to come over here where you're 0-6 the last 6 trips to play BH, Dayton, and Crosby.

I'm a realist too which is why I know y'all probably won't make the playoffs this year.
Well then tell me coug who will make the playoffs from 20-4A??
I like Ned and Central for sure, Jaguars are probably going to be able to talent their way into the playoffs plus their the big enrollment school. PNG, L-Train and LCM should be non-factors. The wildcards are y'all and Ozen. Besides Brown they have about 4 other guys in that class who are D1 level athletes. I think whoever wins the game between y'all and Ozen gets third place and the loser has to hope they don't have an accident to one of the other teams.
Wait.... First you tell dustoff that were not gonna make the playoffs now you say we might get third or fourth?? Make up your mind coug.
My third or gourth statement was if you for sure beat ozen and livingston. If you lose to both your 2 year playoff streak is over, that's why i said probably. The L-Train is the only no doubter on the Pirates schedule this year. I think vidor is going to struggle the first 3 to 5 games breaking in a new qb in that offense, that could be enough to de-rail the the season if  BISD can be relevant again. Good luck on the season though. I would say ''see you in the playoffs'' but even if you do make the playoffs Central or PNG has to make it for us to have a chance to meet.
So which one is it?? Third or fourth or no playoffs??
If you put my feet to the fire i would  go Ned, Central, Ozen, Livingston. Livingston lost collins but they didn't lose much else. ozen and Central are the most talented teams in the district and should have a renewed ferver for the game with new staffs. I don't think vidor is a perennial playoff team. Matthews has been there a long time and he should thank pirate nation because he would have been fired a long time ago on this side of the river. He's only produced one winning season without MQ, throw in the fact you just lost your coordinator/playcaller and eventually that talent defeciency catches back up with you.
I look at it one game at a time and Ned happens to be the first one of those. I'm glad to hear summer workouts are about to start and you still don't have a qb though while ours makes his 24th start. I know y'all are high on the other guys but Washington was the one that made it all happen. We play better players than the rest of those guys in our district schedule so it's no big deal unless we can't block D.Wash. You'll know how good the Dogs d is after week one.

He also happens to be on a team with other good athletes which includes Braden. We need to all get on the same page and stay focused on our goal for this year because next year he's going to be the work horse who's going to get all he can handle.
That's true. We have a lot of good athletes on the team....I think Braden and Chatman are both satisfied right now that they will share time....you always need to good backs remember they take a lot of pounding. If our kids stay hungry, and play as a team which I know they will, they will be successful....regardless what the parents think and say  :)
ok, lets not kid ourselves. SC is NEW but getting better. I am a realist when it comes to these situations. who really believes SC wont roll through 19-4A again? not me. and be honest. and BH, dont't be a coug14, you lost, end of story. stats and an almost don't matter in the end. SC=10-0 AND DC. LET THE - CARMA begin.
You can find where I said earlier in the year that we would probably be 9-1, 8-2 at the worst.
I would consider that a soft verbal though. Jordan Feuerbacher, (TE) K. Park, got an in-house visit from Jeff Banks of the Texas A&M coaching staff. No offer yet but the A&M boards say he wants to really be an Aggie and I think his parents are alumni. I did read that from A&M posters so make of it what you may but he's probably close to an A&M offer.
I don't think that's a soft verbal for Raelon, I believe if Sharp don't commit to Baylor this weekend, he will commit to Utah....Ofcourse this is hear say
Like I said he was and now it's official. Raelon has been reclassified as a "soft verbal". I told you once the big boys came he's not going to play in 25 degrees a mile in the air. Utah offered first and there's a Crosby connection there so he rewarded them with a commitment thus ensuring him a spot in the class. Texas and OU are showing interest and if gets a good Big 12 or SEC offer he won't be in Salt Lake City.

Ned  21    Crosby  7 Ned  19    Crosby  25 Ned  29    Crosby  35 Total 69                67 Avg. 23                22 and as Coug is always saying stats mean everything.... I guess Nederland is going to win due to the avg scores of the 3 games.... I guess that puts this to bed....... :-D Carry on have a nice day...
The 7 is an outlier. Ned's D was good but it was the first game with a new staff. We also have two W's which y'all say is everything. Looks like it's our year if we're averaging those.
one more time: stats= stats, scoreboard ='s winner as in 42-20 Vidor over Crosby. if the stats said it all then Crosby should lead the state in TITLES IYO.
I didn't say anything about stats this time. Comeaux brought that up, you just needed to figure out a way to get that Crosby-Vidor in. Y'all had a good season in 2011 in which you got 2 playoff wins. Remember that's one more than BH and SC and they've both been 4A for less than 8 years. We had a young team and y'all had your best team, hopefully we can do it again this year vice versa. I'm not making excuses for the Ned loss, we lost and the game was never in doubt. IJS, don't tell me if you had a first year, first time head coach in his first game you would think your team is supposed to be ready. Y'all gave Matthews a decade.
