    I honestly don't get it.
We always seem to do this......
There should be no Republican who thinks this was a win.....Any speaker will be limited on what he can get done with such a small majority.

It is because the Democrats have no conscience. They might get behind the scenes and argue privately among themselves but when they walk out to vote, it is in lockstep.
Basically, they are good players at the game of politics. Everyone knows that politics is a dirty game, and they are simply good at it.
Republicans argue among themselves behind closed doors also. They then bring those arguments into the public. They are not shy about airing their arguments and therefore not as good as playing their dirty game as the Democrats.
I saw a poll a couple of years ago that had Nancy Pelosi nationally as the most hated politician in America. She had about 27% support and that’s even among Democrats. But she was the Speaker and when the Democrats went to the floor to vote, they typically did so as one. When they made public comments, it was as one. They are simply better at the dirty game.
As an example, nationally, the Democrats are absolutely opposed to private gun rights and reducing taxes. They do everything in the courts and votes to try to keep people from possessing firearms and to keep more money coming in. You know however, that the democratic rank and file  voters like the people reading this forum, absolutely want to have the ability to purchase whatever firearm they wish and want less taxes out of their paychecks. You will see such comments as (even in this forum), no one is trying to take your guns. That is absolute nonsense, and you can look across the nation and see evidence of it time and time again but it will be denied. So you have the Democrat blue-collar worker who is against much of what the Democratic Party stands nationally or certainly how the party votes in the legislature but they were going to the voting booth and pull the D lever to support the home team.
They are better at the game.

Why wouldn't it.  With this slim of a majority you need some compromise, and those 8 are not having it.

This is equivalent to the immigration issues,,,,,,what do you do with ALL of them?
Upfront I don't have an answer to the homeless problem, but all in one place versus in my backyard sounds good to me.
I spent the weekend in Austin. We were near South Congress. We spent an afternoon "scootering" around the area/parks on these electric scooters.  (that is a blast BTW)....but the homeless was EVERYWHERE.  You could smell the urine in some locations. People sleeping everywhere.  Beaumont is no where near that, but they could be in near future.......
And people question why people are leaving Beaumont and populating these smaller surrounding towns.....

They’re costing the city money anyway.  I’d prefer them do so off of city streets.

I would like to see that for welfare, but don’t care much one way or another to qualify for a place out in the woods to congregate and get a shower.

I don't hate the idea.  It obviously won't solve all the problems, but it has a few major benefits.  First, it will bring a large portion of our local homeless to one area, making it much easier for local volunteer groups to help them.  Second, it will bring a large portion of our local homeless out of populated residential and commercial areas.  Whether someone is homeless because of drugs, mental issues, or because they lost their job, I don't want them camping out in the alley behind my grandmother's house, or coming up and hassling my wife for money when she's walking with my kids to her car.  Moving them to a location that's remote, but also provides some services they need will alleviate this issue quite a bit.

You have been in a first responder’s position also. You know that what goes on behind the scenes is sometimes way different than what the public perceives or realizes.

The poster that made that comment several years ago was a teenage classmate of the young man. He was definitely too exuberant with that post. He is older and more mature and has moved on.
    Obviously, you haven't.

I have a college degree.  My wife has two. We don’t have school loans because (you’re not going to believe how this works) we paid them off.  Early.  There’s a certain irony in you making a post where you admit to being too ignorant to know how your loan works out of one side of your mouth while insinuating everyone else is dumber than you from the other side because you have degrees.  Some of these guys may not have degrees, but none of them paid $50k on a $27k loan without coming close to satisfying the debt, either.

He's probably celebrating the 264 million views his Trump interview received, or the 12.9 million views of his last interview.....or anticipating the number of views he gets interviewing the man who claims he had sex with Obama (after one hour, already at 4.3 million views.
It's OK you don't like Tucker, but insulting the man personally instead of addressing the subject of his interviews is typically what the extreme left does.
I've watched all of his interviews.....he's a journalist and ask questions......verus debating his guest like CNN......I have always thought journalist ask questions and political hacks posing as journalist debate their guest......am I wrong? Should Journalist argue points with peple they are interviewing?

When Dad hit 84 or 85, we were trying to get him to stop driving.  Around that same time his drivers license was up for renewal. We (his kids)  kind of celebrated in our head because we knew there was NO WAY he would pass the vision test, plus he was starting to struggle just simply walking.....but he was determined........
I'm not sure how he did it, but he passed and got his license renewed......to this day I think he memorized the eye chart or something.......
I agree with you but the test should be a actual driving test......
