They are not punished, they are actually rewarded. Several years ago, I did a loan for a Man who made made $28,000 that year. He paid $1800 in federal withholdings but got back right at 10K with the child tax credits. That is not paying taxes, that is the government rewarding someone for having kids. He does not want to be the #1 funding Country, he wants others to, wait for that Democratic talking point "pay their fair share".... Not everyone, but the average salary in USA is $56,000. A single man making 56K, taking standard deduction would owe $4700 in taxes every year. If we can agree that the waste has been going on for AT LEAST 2 years, the average person would have paid $9400 in taxes, so a one time 8K refund would seem reasonable. In normal circumstances I would say no way anyone is getting a refund........but this is Trump, nothing is off the table lol

Why do they want to cut should be the question. If they want to cut building ships, tanks, boots on the ground, etc.....I disagree no matter who suggest it. If they want to cut waste AFTER an audit determining waste, then I'm for it. Latest CNN poll of people who self identify as Dem vs Rep: 2017 Democrats +5 2021 Democrats +6 Feb: 2025 - Republicans +2 (that's an 8 point swing, pretty easy math)

Republicans are finally catching on to what Democrats have been promising for years - free stuff This, however, if done correctly should be given to everyone that PAID taxes as a refund for overspending. If you got back more than you paid in, you should get nothing.
