Midland ISD Votes to Revert Legacy High School Back to Lee!

So you are calling me a racist because you think Trump is a racist? Is that what I'm reading? -
I take it you're not a fan😆

No - one can disagree without being accused of being racist. One is present time and one was 160 years ago...... That seems like a pretty big difference. You going straight to the race card either makes you a democrat or simply here to insult. Do you support men competing in woman's sports? -
You are correct, Us Mods should be more attentive to the personal attacks..

Evadale resisted being bullied..... My Son asked to go there instead of Lumberton - I was reluctant, but agreed. Best decision, small classes and great teachers. -

Completely different. -
The media is being very careful in how they report what happened in 2016. When/If it is proven that a current administration was involved in rigging a Presidential election, that is going to be a HUGE black eye in the USA's quest for Democracy. How will the Democratic party address that the "threat to democracy" was them all along?
-
I also don't recall any republican cities being taken over for days during the summer of love.........
-
I wouldn't - but I think Washington being the capitol, it should be safe......
-
I would say because Washington DC is our capitol......
-
IS it called for? yea A political Stunt? Maybe - if so, and the outcome is Washington becoming safer, why is that bad? If it works, they should come to Beaumont and we wouldn't have a 1 in 73 chance of being a victim of a violent crime, versus in Texas it is 1 in 246......See the difference ?

How does having the national guard in a supporting role to support the police in the 4th most violent city effect you? As far as "small government" - nothing was created or added......
-
From what I have read, they are in a "supporting" role and won't be doing any arrest. They will be leaving that up to the police. They did say that would defend themselves if necessary. I would expect someone throwing a rock at them would regret it immediately.

Did you hear his reference about a dirty front door? He said his Father told him that if he went to a restaurant that had a dirty door, not to eat there, because if the front door is dirty so is the kitchen. He feels that the capitol of the US needs to be an example of the rest of the country. He may be going about it wrong, or he may not, but I find it hard to disagree with making a city safer.

You're a cop right..... Explain to me how this lady is a "threat" to the public in a minimum or maximum security prison? Do you think she is going to use a spoon and dig her way out of prison? Maybe over take a guard and escape? Honestly, I wish they would make everyone with these type of crimes either get hard labor (like making big rocks to little rocks) or just execute them......BUT, the same people who are up in arms about Maxwell being treated soft, are the same people who are against hard labor and execution.

From your article "The homicide rate in the nation’s capital was the fourth highest among 24 U.S. cities in 2024, according to a report by the Center for Public Safety Initiatives at Rochester Institute of Technology that relied on local news reports and individual agency data. The three cities with higher rates than Washington were St. Louis, New Orleans and Detroit." So while crime may have come down, it is still 4th highest......Is that really something to be proud of for our nations capitol?
-
Google yourself and see if he’s wrong. Pretty lame you call him wrong yet don’t provide the information to prove him wrong.
-
He just pretends like Washing DC is not violent because he's been there over 12 times in the last 25 years and felt safe.......ignoring actual crime data that is what TDS will do to you
-
The numbers are the numbers......Unless you're trying to dispute the numbers on practically every crime page I've gone to Beaumont and live in Port Arthur.....I've never been assaulted or obviously killed...but that does not mean the violent crime rate in Beaumont is not 278% above the national average in violent crime.
-
He wants the US Capitol safe....... and fun fact, he is using the laws and the constitution to take care of it.....you know, Democracy stuff..... In 2024, Washington D.C. had a homicide rate of 27.3 per 100,000 residents, which is significantly higher than many other major cities in the US. The homicide rate in D.C. was nearly six times higher than in New York City. While violent crime has decreased by 26% this year, and the city has seen a reduction in overall crime, the homicide rate still remains a concern. The city's crime rate is higher than that of other major cities like Chicago and Atlanta.

I sold my house right before the rates went up to the current level and moved into my childhood home. The plan was to build, but now thinking I may buy and existing home that needs to be remolded. I'm in no hurry because my current home is paid for. The problem is not a lot of houses on the market because people don't want to sell their homes and give up that 3% interest rate to jump on a 7% rate on a larger home. When the rates get to 5%, the market will be flooded with houses folks been wanting to sell for 5 years but was holding off for rate. That should force down home prices too.
