Some of the TDS in this forum is insane. Since when is it a bad idea to have allies? I remember when Trump made history being the first President to walk into North Korea. The media and his haters thought he was crazy.....we don't negotiate with terrorist.....but here we are in his second term and he had negotiated 7 cease fires........but the TDS folks are complaining because he is adding on to the East wing with his own money plus donors......

Here is the problem Democrats face. The shutdown is not being blamed on Trump. Trump as of today has an AVERAGE approval rating of 45.5% On the same polling site, Obama had an AVERAGE approval rating of 43.7% on Oct 21st in the first year of his second term, so apples to apples..... If you look at the favorability ratings, leaders in Congress and senate on both sides don't look great, but Republicans have a slightly better favorability than Democrats...... I predict enough Dem's vote yes to get this thing through by the end of the week.

And he received a lot of flack from his base. He is in a bad situation. I think he is hoping some other Democrats vote to spare him this time

I have not really heard any details. It is a complicated issue. I think expanding Medicaid to people below a certain income could work. At the same time, in my job, I see people that make $250K a year or more, but according to their tax returns they make 12,000/year. Like I said, complicated. I don't see a bipartisan agreement on a single payer system ever....

I just looked it up - the penalty for not having insurance ended in 2019. I always thought it was a little unconstitutional to force you to buy something or penalize you.

I'm honestly not sure if they think they are some how anointed with THAT much power, or they know they are overstepping, but use it to just delay Trump and his policies..... Either way, until a Judge is removed or some sort of repercussion/accountability, I don't see it ending. I'd be curious to hear if you think their is a way to hold these left wing judges accountable?

We actually agree with this. I have no issue expanding Medicare or Medicaid. Let them handle everyone with pre-existing conditions or folks that can't afford private insurance. That is what drove up the cost of private insurances. Then folks WITHOUT pre-existing conditions could apply with private insurance companies that won't accept pre-existing conditions and have much lower rates. Now, what do you do with the folks not responsible enough to pay for insurance or simply don't want insurance?

He did nothing to Kimmel but voice his opinion (free speech right?) The other folks - either they did it or they didn't...... And if you didn't express outrage when they went after Trump and everyone else, it's really hard to take you seriously. That would be AWESOME!!!!! A couple things could happen...... 1. They could impeach - but would never have enough votes in the senate......not to mention he has done nothing impeachable. His popularity increases every time they try to go after him. That gives Vance the advantage. 2. He could say screw it, step down, Vance takes over, Trump tells all of MAGA how badly he was treated and his last wish is for everyone to vote for Vance...... I can't believe Democrats don't see that Trump is not the threat, he is out in 2028.....it is Vance that they need to worry about. He is a masterful debater and will retain the entire MAGA base......

Do you know the definition of a lame duck? He is winning in the Supreme Court, a couple governors races are getting very close that have current sitting Democrats, and usually win big when the opposition is President..... Plus, the shutdown is not looking good for Democrats......
