So, how was your bow opener?
thetragichippy replied to westend1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
You are correct but I am a slow learner and it took about 15 years to figure that one out. So now I know. LMAO........it only took me one time..........I froze my butt off......took a week to feel my toes. I might attempt it again in a boat (where I stay out of the water).......but doubt I will! -

Kids almost always like it better than deer hunting. You actually get to pull the trigger a few times. When I was a teenager and a young adult I used to like squirrel hunting and a lot of duck hunting. Especially duck hunting back when you could kill 10 birds and actually get them most of the time. Now I don't want anything to do with duck hunting and love to deer hunt. I like the peace and quiet of the woods and the less stressful hunting situation. Old age setting in maybe? I don't squirrel hunt anymore but I would prefer the woods to the marsh. You still get the mostly peace and quiet and get to here the gun go bang every once in a while. Something is not right about being in waders, in water when it's 30 degrees outside standing still waiting for a duck! -
A fair assessment of Lutheran North.

Probably should double up on the universal off season which, many will tell you, is the solution to all problems. I heard it was going to be Government run universal off-season ;D That is an excellent comment, Mr. Tragic 8)

I gave you the answer. No coach is untouchable if they act in the matter of how you have at times. If they get confrontational, they will be called out. NOT JUST YOU! Maybe you should look into not being on these boards if you think you aren't getting a fair shake. Again, most do not view you as a coach. Get it? Ok, I think one of you needs to invite the other over for a beer summit.

When the drinking age was raised to 21 in 1986 ;D -
Give me an example of how I "present myself" AAW....Thats a bunch of BS, and you know it. There is no excuse for coach bashing, and you making an excuse is the prime reason that it goes on and should not. I AM A COACH. regardless of how people view it, thats who I am...A rule is a rule, and there is no exceptions, no matter HOW much you folks hate me. Should not matter. Dickie, I have taken up for you in on another thread, but have to take AAW's side on this one. I'm not buying for one minute you don't realize your post are sometimes abrasive. As for me, I respect you being a coach, that's a good thing. However, when we debate issues......I don't see you as a coach, I see you as a poster..........kinda as you see me ;D

Vidor vs. Lumberton Predictions?
thetragichippy replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
A lot of emotion in this game....it bleeds over to this thread. Both teams have talent and both will be ready to play football. The winner will be the one with fewest penalties and mistakes. I say Lumberton by 6. The home field advantage (plus homecoming) will have the Lumberton boys motivated!! may both teams be injury free........not to say that Vidor won't be limping off the field ;D -
as much as i get tired of band geeks whining about football programs getting preference it is THIS kind of tripe that feeds their rationale. your analogy is bad - are the football players in your hypothetical also on the cheerleading squad? nope. that would be a season-long conflict wouldnt it? or wait, they could cheer between plays right? you may hold volleyball in higher esteem than cheerleading or drill team, but then you probably didnt participate in those activities did you? I have to agree with one thing about your post. That is.....it seems you have received a good education. I am surprised you got away with instructing one of your coaches. Informing or notifying them would be a more preferred method. Anyway you were doing quite well until you chose to write paragraph to too two. You may have underestimated in your charges or accusations that they also might be well educated. Just an observation. Main Entry: in·struct Pronunciation: \in-ˈstrəkt\ Function: transitive verb Etymology: Middle English, from Latin instructus, past participle of instruere, from in- + struere to build — more at structure Date: 15th century 1 : to give knowledge to 2 : to provide with authoritative information or advice 3 : to give an order or command to : direct Seeing as how it was my choice and therefore within my power to decide whether I would participate in one, both, or neither of those activities, I fail to see how using instruct to describe the manner in which I informed them of the circumstances was a poor choice of verbiage. As to your critique of the second paragraph: what does me dropping capitalization (which actually occurred in 1) and using numerals instead of spelling out numbers (also started in 1) have to do with homonyms? I certainly didn't erroneously interchange any. Was this your feeble attempt to look like you gots smartzes? I hope your not from WOS..........for there sake

What volumes does it speak? I take the "no comment" the exact opposite as most everyone on here. i don't see how the volleyball coach would be OK with losing a game this way. To me, the no comment was a way to not say something to throw someone under the bus. Or maybe didn't want to have to explain her position. Thats the thing thats so confusing if we take your side........what on earth could be her position?
