I just reviewed those formulas for new schools and my understanding is it only affects the first year or entering into competition. I don't believe any calculation occurs last year when they have already gone through an initial opening calculation three years ago. This is their second alignment. I am not saying they did anything on ourposebut just like George Ranch when they won State, they get the advantage of being a growing school that catches enrollment that gives them 5a division 2 numbers. Those numbers were taken last year. I am sure today they have 6a division 2 numbers enrolled in the school and eligible to play ball. They will get two years of this advantage then likely fade into obscurity like George Ranch did

Battle between one team that recruits and another that is a 6a team masquerading as a 5a team due to just opening

I mean that wAs an obvious tackle at the point of attack that directly led to a long TD. -

Randle got a TD called back on a very suspect holding call. SOC got s TD where their guy tackled the defender for Randle. Randle should be up 10 right now -

They will need to let the QB run the ball. Wide open if he pulls it back out. -

28 to 10 Westlake. NS just made another bad decision going for it. Should have taken the fg and gotten within two scores -

That hail Mary offense they used against LP does not seem to be working against SV. The only way they really moved on LP was to heave the ball up for grabs and hope their guy came down with the 50/50 ball or got an interference call. -

Spoiler alert. They are not winning state. They do not have the decided athletic advantage that they need to win. -

Not the type of athletes I'm accustomed to seeing at North Shore particularly on the lines. They just seem a bit undersized . I guess they are having to shared with CEK and Summer Creek now -
Has Angleton ever won State? Made it to state?

After all this 60 minutes...Guilbeau cost Texas the game. Just turn around and get a block.

Willis should have beaten DeSoto. I believe the DeSoto name is worth 20 points against most teams. Not against Longview though. They don't have a quarterback and no real offensive scheme. If they can't entirely out athlete a team they don't have much left to fall back on.

Wow. LP coach is going to have a long off-season kicking himself for this one. -

Momentum completely changed now after that one mental lapse by the coaching staff. Angleton just has to toss up a hail Mary every play and they either catch it or get a pass interference call on LP. -

Wow. Disasterously bad coaching decision to go for it on 4th and goal from the 1 up 8. You absolutely have to go up two possessions there. Could cost LP the game. -
I told yall 2 years ago and was laughed at!

I looked back through MaxPreps and looks like Woodville has averaged 8 or 9 wins a year the last decade at least with several double digit win seasons sprinkled in. Why would anyone be so surprised if they put to together one of those years? Not like they have been averaging 2 or 3 wins for the last 10 years. -
This Willis game starting just like it did last year. Willis is faster. Not saying they are better, but they are definitely the faster team again.

28-14 Randle. Huge, 73 yard pass on 3rd and long for a td for Randle to push the lead back to 14.

Chris Anderson team the last to make it to quarterfinals for LP?

This part of a double header out at Berry?

Barbers Hill (28) vs La Porte (55) - FINAL
gary-us-bonds replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
It's all making sense now. I could never figure out why ef green opened their doors a few years ago and I read in the paper how they were rolling over everyone but it never translated over to high school. After a bit more research, I see that the kid scoring all those touchdowns that first year plays for Barbers Hill now. Maybe a different coach could recruit better or, like was mentioned with the new rule, maybe it would be more difficult for other schools. They will just drop down and transfer for 8th grade then. I don't think this will stop anything. -

I went to look up the one ef green kid I was really looking forward to seeing at GCM, even though I am a lee fan.... Playing on varsity as a freshman at CE King. He's probably a future state title winner in discus too. They need a coach that can convince those kids to stay at gcm -

According to Texas Tribune, Gccisd, Laporte and deer park are all rated B. Barbers Hill is an A. GC has a higher 4 year graduation rate than LP or DP. BH is far and away the best district on this side of town. GC has a much higher percentage economically disadvantaged at 71.7% with LP being next closest at 52%. Surprised that GC is performing so well considering. All of the players that would likely make a great football team are out by GCM and Sterling. If GCM had Lee's coach and dropped back down into 5A division 1, they would be able to compete very well against BH and LP. I don't know what their problem is with getting the athletes to gel into an actual team. Lee still beat them both this year and was sort of a down year by Lee's standards. Lot of injuries some kids moved out of district and they are paper thin as it is. -

Already permitted for 18 and up. Will be permitted across the board within five to ten years.
