  1. Bellaire is horrible. Even a mediocre team should beat them by 50. The fact that United struggled with them at all is not very encouraging. Goose Creek Memorial beat Bellaire by 20 last year and that was the second game of the season. After that they lost to everyone else on the schedule by 30 or more. It may not end up being a 50 point win for PNG bit it would be because they go ultra conservative and put in all backups in the second half. PNG will be up by 35-40 at the half.
  2. I'm not entirely sure that last year's Dayton team wouldn't have also beaten last year's Crosby team. I'm sure it felt good for Prieto, but I didn't think either team looked better than the other in terms of execution or sophistication of what they were doing. I think the bigger question for Crosby is how did they let Riordan get away.
  3. PNG by 50.
  4. You have to be really feeling some kind of way for a different reason to not admit that plopping down 2,000 extra students that barely got here and barely know English is affecting the football team there..100% has to be some ulterior motive, some other argument that is being made by proxy with arguing this one, specific topic.
  5. They have quadrupled their enrollment in ten years and doubled it in the last three years. You think all those recent immigrants are worried about playing football? Cleveland ISD has the highest percentage of ESL students in the state now..Higher than any in the valley. It's a really strange and unique circumstance in Cleveland that can't be simply explained away that hey they used to be good in foot all and now they are not.
  6. 12 years ago they had enrollment of less than 1,000....now they have 3,300. Imagine if Silsbee had 2,000 more students dropped in on them, none of whom play football, then they have to be in the district with North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita and CE King. They would get their butts worked over something fierce every weekend then all the good players would find a more reasonable place to play where they would have a chance. They are a 3a or 4a school playing in a 6a district. No one would want to subject the self to that, so likely their better players went somewhere else.
  7. Agreed. Dayton and Crosby was some of the worst offensive football I have seen. A battle between one team who was so confident they couldn't complete a pass they would hand it off on 3rd and 4th and long and hope he miraculously breaks one and another team whose only pass play was to fling it deep down the sidelines and hope for a good result on a tipped ball. It was rough. LaPorte and DP on the other hand. Two teams that could execute and looked like they knew what they were doing.
  8. Hard to comprehend how poor both of these passing games are for these teams. They both look like one of those games where the QB gets hurt and you have to put the receiver in there at QB to nurse things along til the end of the game, but they both looked like that from the first snap.
  9. Had LP ran the ball every play of the game, they would have won by 10. Coach is going to be kicking himself tomorrow about this one
  10. LP out coaching themselves this first half. Got away from the run too much.
  11. I'm going to throw something out and not trying to jinx them. I think LP is a state title contender this year.
  12. Make it a Google form and then the mods can publish them after the week is over
  13. Lee appeared to get two scores in the live portion according to Hudl highlights. One in the controlled part for sure. That's just from the QB highlights. Not sure if maybe they scored in some other manner as well. Or did you mean 0-0 in regards to each Crosby QB?
  14. Lee should be about like they have been more or less the last four years. Need to figure out the QB situation. Have 4 or 5 solid skill position guys that will all need to play both ways to some extent. Have an offensive line with several two year starters. Couple of solid linebackers. I have a feeling they will play Joseph at QB and be more of a run first team this year. Sterling has a really good quarterback. I'll need to see it to believe it that they will have a better year than Lee though.
  15. Willis was the only team in the state with a chance against Desoto.
  16. I think GCM is about 3-4 years away from turning the corner. If they can keep all the kids zoned to Green that is.
  17. Oops. My bad. It just just gives me hope that Lee will be allowed to play in their appropriate level since all three can't be in the same district anyways.
  18. I thought I saw that on the mock up. Maybe it was GCM? One of them was in a 6a district I thought.
  19. Hopefully now that Sterling is forced into 6a, GCCISD will allow Lee to play in D2 where they should be since you can't keep all three together any more.
  20. Whoever made the 5A D2 mock needs access to a map. Brenham is much closer to Bryan. Dayton is much closer to Texas City. Switch those two at the least, but I think three or four of those need to be traded with each other from those two districts.
  21. This coach unfortunately doesn't understand the situation and the flow of this game. There should have been no punts attempted and no deep kicks from jump. Lagway should have had designed runs much more.
  22. This is on the head coach. Just line up and run a play and quit with all of the cadence games.
  23. I have no dog in the fight really. Just pulling for the team closer to Houston. I also enjoy following when someone is able to take a team that is not accustomed to competing on such a level and putting them on his back and turning them into a winner like Lagway has been able to do with Willis. They have like 3 or 4 winning seasons in the last 15 years. I don't think it has anything to do with any change in attendance patterns. I think Lagway is just that good and turned them into a formidable team. That's why it reminds me of VY. A team from Hiram Clarke that had never been much in quite some time and hasn't been much since, but he put them on his back for that one year. Reminds me of the Texas City team too when someone swore to us on this forum that it wasn't just the Foreman twins. They were building a juggernaut over there. Then the Foreman twins graduate and they go from 14-1 to 5-6 the next year and havent been heard from in the past decade.
  24. They sure put a whooping on Klein Cain. 72-19 in the 3rd quarter at one point. How did Summer Creek have so much trouble with Klein Cain? Lot of people in 2001 thought Reggie McNeal was better than Vince Young. I remember walking into the Astrodome to watch that game and all of the North Shore fans sitting around me thought it was going to be a walk over. I was rooting for North Shore. If Madison didn't have Vince Young, NS wins by 70. If Willis doesn't have Lagway, I am sure Desoto wins by 60... We will see tomorrow night how it goes when they do have him. When you have a QB in high school that is two or three levels better than anyone else on the field strange things can happen.
