  1. We will see how they do against Brenham. I don't think Elgin is a great measuring stick. Elgin got their doors blown off by Montgomery. That game was 42-6 at the half. Elgin is not good. Randle is great. No doubt. They already worked over FB Marshall so I wouldn't think that would change if they met again. The common opponent is Texas City and Brenham rolled them just as easily if not easier than Randle did. Guess we will see next week.
  2. If I'm reading the thread right, Ball had the ball down on 4th and goal at the 1 in a 3-3 game middle of the 4th quarter and decided to go for it? How absurd of a decision is that? Points are at a premium obviously in a 3-3 game after 3 and a half quarters. Why in the world would they do that? That likely cost them the game. The rest of the game would have played out differently with the pressure of being down 6 to 3.
  3. Simon is too big, explosive and ill-intentioned for a team like Barbers Hill to do much with. Whoever is going to stop him will need to have roughly equivalent athletes all over on defense which will be tough to find...or a quick, well-coached, swarming defense to get three guys around him every play
  4. They landed in the sweet spot for realignment of a new school growing. Like George Ranch when they won State. Like Ridge Point when they put it on Crosby that year. For all intents and purposes, they have 6a division 1 numbers on their football team and get to play in 5a division 2.
  5. Good for Worthing. They used to be a powerhouse 40 years ago with the likes of Mike Singletary and Otis Taylor among others. Good to see them have success even if they are about to get worked over by Chapel Hill.
  6. Last, and only other, time I saw a freshman running back as talented as Simon was Leo Mills for Humble. You could easily lie and tell me that Simon is a senior and I wouldn't bat an eye. If he has any upward progression left in his development, he will be a monster in a few years.
  7. Is this not the prediction thread?
  8. Laporte 42 to 28
  9. Crosby by 40
  10. Oh don't I know it. Kendrick Perkins. Quentin Castille, Hosa Scott, Montrel Lowe, Curvin Richards(though he was from Baytown), Bubba Hill, Barrion Walker. This Freshman is different than the Perkins and Castille types though. He doesn't just bulldoze in there. He moves like a real running back.
  11. Man where is LP finding these running backs. They have an outstanding junior that barely gets the ball any and now this freshman is probably the top freshman running back in the state after watching his highlights. He's a monster
  12. You can just pitch it around the end and let Yarborough make 3 guys miss every play. Crosby will be all over Pasadena like white on rice. Crosby will be up 40 at half. They may call off the dogs and not get to my score but they could if they wanted.
  13. Cougars 63-7
  14. Iowa Colony beat Baytown Lee 63-14. Lee got down 21-0 then closed to within 21-14 late in the half. IC scored to make it 28-14 with less than a minute in the half then put it on them in the second half.
  15. Randle caught that sweet spot on the way up in enrollment just like George Ranch a decade ago when they won State. I wouldn't be surprised if Randle wins it twice in a row here in this enrollment period before rezoning The Randle running back is much better than the one for Brenham. The kid for Brenham is good but the Randle kid should be ranked one of the top 5 to 10 overall players in the nation when he's a senior if not the top player. He's a different level from anyone I've seen in a long time.
  16. Nothing wrong with PNG having some trouble with LP. LP is a really good team and will be a lot for most teams to handle.
  17. The white team is generally what used to be called the B team and the other color in the color scheme is considered the A team. For PNG, I imagine PNG purple team to be what was formerly called the A team.
  18. Crazy to me that people actually gave United some sort of chance against PNG when they didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning even if they played 500 times...then people think PNG is going to roll LP when the Bulldogs have an actual chance to pull off an upset. I know it's an SE board but c'mon.
  19. LP 28-24
  20. How far back do you have to go to find a time when both Dayton and Crosby were bad teams? Would have to be pretty far back I would think. Usually one of the other has been fighting for district championships for the last 20 years. I can't imagine either of these teams making the playoffs this year. I suppose last year was really the first year of it
  21. Like I said.
  22. Nothing at all wrong with being somewhat predictable. Lot of teams have won a lot of games doing fairly predictable things in and executing them flawlessly. I think when LP gets into trouble is when they venture too far away from their bread and butter moreso than becoming too predictable.
