that Peno boy is a load. is he a junior or soph? i think he's still a soph.
yea he is only a Soph
hopefully he doesn't outgrow the diamond. i believe his dad is 7 foot.
 2. unfortunately sometimes the parents are just as immature as the kids.

 4. had practice and didn't get to the game. who pitched in the game? it sounds like whoever did, pitched well.
 5. where is gulf coast pony located? i've never heard of it.
 6.
Hunter did start the game and pitched the whole game. He had 8 strikeouts and looked pretty sharp. Trae played left field and is resting his arm. He was intentionally walked all three at bats as well.
thanks for the info. that makes sense. i assume they'll start vincent next game and see how far he can go against central. it's great coach is not only trying to win, but also looking out for all of the kids' health.
 7. are they resting trae's arm for the stretch run, or did he pitch some in this game? didn't make the game. someone earlier stated that hagler started the game.
 8. these comments bashing coach green's decisions crack me up. it reminds me of little league baseball dads that sit in the stands questioning every decision the coach makes. they don't have the guts (or other things i won't mention) to take on the responsibility of being a coach, but want to gripe and pile on when things don't go their way. the pirates lost a game against a kid on his way to a major division 1 school who dropped a no hitter on them. i'll give the coach the benefit of doubt on this one. he knows a lot more about the situation than i do.....although i can hold my own.
 9.
Vidor Michael Hester - 5 Matt Peno - 2 Trae Hester - 2 Hunter Hagler - 1
thanks....the boys deserve their props
 10. somebody give an update on the vidor pirates. i know both of the hesters have homered as has peno.
 11.
Will Port Neches be in the same district as BC and Vidor?
yes...they will all have interleague games along with port arthur american.
 12.
Rankings with teams #1 on the mound. 1. Nederland 2. BC 3. West Brook 4. Orangefield 5. Vidor 6. Jasper 7. PNG 8. WOS 9. Kelly 10.Lumberton I think people are looking at tournaments to much when teams are throwing their 5 and 6 guys up there. How can you say this when Benoit is better than all of those pitchers or just as good. Bellows can compete and so can hicks but not hester, nor anyone from orangefield. give me a break. PNG should be top 3 for sure. They win district or come clost every year. You have no idea what your talking about. When Benoit is healthy, noone will hit him in this district.
you may want to actually go and watch a game before you start posting garbage. first off, it's bellow not bellows. second, if you think orangefield can't compete, you don't know crap about baseball at all. lastly, if you think hester can't compete, i suggest you talk to some of the kids that actually have to face him and ask them what they think. he's very good.
 13. i'm not sure how you can put jasper at 2 and not have vidor on there. when their number ones went head to head, the pirates prevailed.
What a gem Hester threw today against Jasper.
wish i could've seen it. sounds like he's definitely back. to shut down basically the hottest hitting team this year is something. two very good teams. these corn/rice-fed boys around here can play.
 15. everyone please pray for the young man injured in today's game. he was hurt running for a foul ball, dove, and went head first into a brick wall. he was knocked out and taken to the hospital.
 16. that's more like it.  ;D plus, you gotta give the posters on here more credit. most everyone knows that buna and orangefield both have very good baseball programs.

 18. sounds like v armstrong shut them down. did he finish the game? way to go pirates.
 19.
Jasen Stanley told me he has Chris Read helping him this year at VLL.....if thats the case watch for this team to be sound.  which ever team this is.
they should be a sound 3rd place team.
 20.
So this is not going to be Pony sanctioned?
no...little league
 21. i don't believe the fields are large enough. someone correct me if i'm wrong.
 22.
Nederland Babe Ruth and Mid-County Babe Ruth are two seperate organizations.  NBR is for 13-15 year olds and MCBR is for 16-18 year olds.  They operate totally seperate from each other.
ooooooooooo ;) my bad...
 23.
Sorry if I missed, but is this going to be Little League affiliated?
i would assume so. the junior/senior league designations are used by little league.
 24.
There were a few years in the past...about 6-8 years ago... when Orange County kids were allowed to play at NBR.  The boundary was reduced back to Jefferson County after it was revealed that it was becoming a "select" league in the 14-15 year old division.  Kids were being turned away based upon lack of skill.  Since the park that NBR plays upon is considered a neighborhood park in Nederland, there were alot of outraged parents whose kids were being turned away.  Good move, in my opinion, by the previous leaders at NBR who changed this back to Jefferson County only and turn away NO kids. It is my understanding that the present board has expanded the boundary again, but this time with good intentions of including more kids in the league who may want to try something different or who may not have any other alternative.
i know a few that played last yr at nbr. maybe they were 16.
