The only trash being talked on this thread is some of the predictions by the png faithful. jr high should be more about participation than wins and losses. i think all jr highs should be run that way. it may be the last and only time for the kids to actually play for their school.

Correct, a progress report can make you eligible, if you bring the grade up. first check is at 6 weeks. then your next chance to bring that up is at 9 weeks.

is hester good to go pitching wise? i talk to a few kids on the team and they say he is pitching great and even w/ more velocity because of the rehab work. is this true? i know how kids like to embellish sometimes.

I heard their jv was pretty good! Ozen JV in a close though Ozen JV 28 Vidor JV 21 vidor's jv is undefeated so far. they are very good. all of the skilled position players could step right in for a varsity player. they are loaded at rb.

ouch! Exactly!! When is the bad luck going to end for the Tigers? Coupled with injuries, 2 of which are season ending injuries, Silsbee has now lost 4 starters and a key reserve in the last few weeks to go along with these ineligible players. Hopefully the bad ends tomorrow night. you consider it bad luck when an athlete in ineligible due to grades?? sorry if people disagree with me but an athletes number one priority is and should be grades! I just wish alot of the parents of athletes felt the same way......it would amaze some at the response you get from some parents regarding their children not being allowed extra-curricular activities......and they will never respond to teacher request for conference due to poor performance in the classroom. :'( :'( most teachers are more than willing to help players keep their eligibility, but if they have no help from the parents or kid there isn't much they can do. most will tell you the kids no pass no play rule helps some kids that are borderline achieve more because the kids want to play so bad. this gives the kids more incentive to keep their grades up. once they lose out on their chance to play sports some kids give up on classwork all together. hopefully all the kids that are out bring up their grades by the 9 week report card date.

Actually if you read todays Beaumont Starship Enterprise, the Offenses are identical for Livingston and Vidor. BTW, although not the marquis players like Mr. Quinton over there in Livingston, they do use multiple backs. same offense but different players. ask your jv team which team runs the offense better. it's all about execution.

i'd say in this instance the vb team. i'm sure there were quite a few girls that didn't make the varsity team that would die to play.

Not knowing the whole story, it's hard to point fingers. I think the VB game should be played. We don't know what Coach Kelly's thoughts are. I'm not real sure we know what Coach Hooks thoughts are. We do know what the girls thoughts are and the parents thoughts are (what was reported anyway). It could have been resolved had someone attended to this situation long ago. So basically unless I get more info, I'm going to sit right here on the fence and wish and think the VB game should be played. wait a second...that made too much sense. hopefully they will come to their senses and play. it's the right thing to do.

you need to teach the girls life lessons along with the boys imho. there is definitely a lesson to be learned here. i put more of the blame on the parents than the kids. they are kids after all.
