I know PNG has a heavy roster. So it will be tough.
Who does Vidor have comeing back besides Kyle Green ;D
I believe Vidor has 7 of its 9 starters back...Key loss being Hester. Hunter Hagler will be the ace for Vidor with Maxwell and Peno both being very solid also. Hesters cousin Kerry which was lost to injury(season ending knee) early in the season last year as a soph. can throw it pretty good as well.
don't forget about v. armstrong. he can bring it also.
 2. david baker for president....just kidding. he's a great guy. i wonder if everyone knew that he played baseball for the pirates back in the day. :o
 3.
hehe ol mr baker always paints our feild up nicely. he has got to be one of the best around.
somebody better step up for him soon. he will be retiring. he definitely will be missed. he's won numerous awards for his work. anybody got a pic of the field this year to share?

We just dont feel the need to brag about it. ;)
That is funny because I saw them selling tickets when the ticket booth opened at 5:45.
wow...you've got issues that go way beyond high school football. you need to get a life and live it. there are always tons of people standing and watching at vidor homecoming games. they don't want to turn anyone away that wants in. it's understood if you buy tickets right before the game, you're liable to be standing. the fans don't care. i'm wondering why some mother of a png student cares about vidor's homecoming turn out. get a grip....oh and good luck to the rest of the normal png fans the rest of your season.
 5. hoping for a pirate win, but whatever happens, i will be proud of this years team. a lot of boys had to learn to play varsity football on the fly this year and mostly held their own. i feel for the seniors, but hopefully the experience the younger kids got this year will pay off in the future. if the pirates can hold onto the ball, it should be a close game. pirates 21 - livingston 14.
PN-G fans wont have to worry about it cause there wont be anywhere for the vidor fans to sit cause the PN-G side will be full before the vidor side will be!!!!
better get there early then. the last couple of years i have watched while standing. a lot of people go straight to the stadium after the parade. oh, btw, i was at the school yesterday afternoon. that pasture y'all are talking about parking in looks like your front yard, but a little shorter.
 8.
Be ready Indian fans --- Homecoming is a huge event in Vidor.  Very neat halftime show but the overcrowding is RIDICULOUS!!!! Last year, we(LCM fans) had to listen to Vidor fans degrading our players, cheerleaders, and coaches.  They were killing us and still kept on.  Anytime we cheered for our players while sitting on the VISITOR side - they made fun and boo'd us. We were on the appropriate side.  They were not.  I know of several complaints to the Vidor admin over this game.  My advice for what it's worth --- bring that PNG pride and pack the stadium so no Vidor fans have room!!! :) Parking is a nightmare --- 2 hours to get out of the parking lot aka field of tall grass(if it rains-it will be closed) !!!! You have been warned friends!!!! :) ;)
yeah it's horrible with all that grass in the parking lot. don't bother coming. could it be the visiting fans weren't happy because of the outcome?

 16.
I'm sure other teams are like ours, but Port Neches Middle School has 80 kids for 7th grade football. You can't expect coaches to play all of those kids in a 7th grade game. I have three boys and my oldest is in 7th grade this year. He's probably the smallest out there with the biggest heart, but he still gives it his all. That's all I ask of him to do. There's about 1% of Texas HS players that get a free ride to college from football and I know mine won't be one of them. I just hope he learns to grow like a model citizen and became a young adult while playing a game that he LOVES. Too many daddy's wanting thier kid to be the stud player! It's MIDDLE SCHOOL. My #1 priority is his grades period.
simmer down there now....ur making way too much sense for this thread. ;)

But what do you mean by limited coaches? The same coaches that work with the A team work with the B teams. And as far as sites and officials, are you saying we don't have enough money for that? Please.
Thank you VNUPE - it is the same coaches & what does it matter if they coach four games one night or two games on two different nights.  Also the officiating excuse doesn't fly either - I work with two officials that have each officiated for over twenty years a piece & they said that's how it used to be - games on both Tuesday & Thursday night.  I know nothing is going to change this year since the schedules are already in place, but my son has told me this is his last year of playing school ball because he is tired of having to participate like everyone else and not getting the same treatment as the A teamers.
I believe the answer may lie in this one word.........athletics is about competition, not participation.  In other words, if you want to play in a game with a regulation clock, then work hard to make the A team.  As I see it, the "B" games are designed to give the kids, that go to practice, an opportunity to play and get some experience in game situations and to keep their interest up.  If not for the "B" games, many kids would practice all week and then sit on the bench all game or get very limited playing time (much less playing time than a game with a running clock).
very well stated horndog. they could always go back like it used to be... the b-teamers wouldn't MAKE the team at all. this thread is pathetic. i remember when try-outs were really try-outs...not everyone made the team. now with all of the p.c. crap everyone gets to play and they're still complaining....jeesh!
Well you make no sense.  How about you go tell our coaches not to promote football to our kids?  I don't think any coach is going to tell a kid he can't play if he wants to.  Don't you realize football is king....jeesh!!!
once the kids get to jr. high/middle school, there are no more mandatory play rules. the coaches try to be nice and get most or all of the kids in at some point, but it is not a priority. they are trying to teach football and also be successful on the field. all of the kids need to practice hard and give their all. you never know what will happen during the yr and who will need to step up. ..BUT...the best kids will ALWAYS be the ones to get more playing time. this is now one or two teams per grade instead of the five or six jr league pay to play teams they were on the yr before. all of the schools that have both a and b teams should feel lucky. at least the b team gets significant "game time" experience instead of sitting the bench. no, a coach won't tell a kid not to play if he wants to, but he may not play in the game. they promote football beacause during a season there will be injuries etc. and several kids will be needed. plus, it builds self esteem. football is definitely king and the best will always play the most . encourage your kid to stick with it. practicing your butt off builds character. you never know when it will be his turn to shine. if your not there it will never come.

 23.
really guys.......as a former pirate football player (2010 grad) i know that the only thing that has held vidor back in the past is ingorant and selfish ppl who think about them selves. Coach always preached about that. Vidor has always had good players and only 85% of them were unified. All the things we did in offseason taught us to trust each other and to put aside our differences and put our full focous on the team as one unit. Now RC, i understand where your comming from i agree the defence needs to step up. Remember the Centrall game last year????????? 2OT 57 56. we dont need that happening this year. But this is a 80% different team than what we had last year. Adjustments are still being made. Ease up a bit and let it play out im sure as our young team gains experiance they will shape up. But what we DO not need is two (supposively) vidor fans agruing about players coaches stats ect. We need all the Positive support we can get. Pull it togather and stop bickering like freshman who never made 1st team...............................1 2 3 PIRATES AHOOO
amen to that...there aren't enough pirate supporters on here to have in-fighting. i'm proud of the way the team played. there is tons of room for improvement in this team because it is so young. this game should go a long ways in showing these boys that they can play with any team. they may have grown up overnight. they definitely didn't play like a team with 4 returning starters. couldn't make the game, but i am pumped for the next one. also, get them linebackers some new helmets. also, rusted cutlass is a true pirate fan. he was just pointing out areas that need to be improved upon. there's always room for improvement.

I know we recieved some boo's from the other side. Faircloth recieved the trophy as the team went to dressing room. Maybe we needed to get on the bus pretty quick for the long journey home? I guess the coaching staff instructed the team to go to the locker room. No matter what the case was, it did not look too good when the loud speaker was instructing us to stay on the field as we left.
Believe it or not but the game before us El Paso Hanks left the field also and the PA Announcer was asking them to stay on the field. Also I am so glad everyone is so interested the PNG program. We have more post on this thread from non PNG fans then the actual PNG faithful. So glad we're so recognized in our area and fans are more interested in what we do than there own teams. I have plenty of purple shirts if anyone needs one!!!
Yea, I need a purple shirt.
