1. i don't want to get flamed, but on several occasions recently i have heard rumors that there was going to be a coaching change at png. my response was that that wouldn't make sense with the late season run by the indians. the people i talked to seemed to feel sure that it was a done deal. i figured anything like this would be blowing up on the forum though. i know there were some threads during the season about a couple kids leaving the team. i just wanted to check with some png fans in the know so i can shut these people up.
 2. i doubt that, but i could imagine he was asked to pick between the two.
 3. coach seemed to hint he may lose one soon to grades and possibly a couple more during his weight program that starts in june....sounds good to me...real personable guy...hopefully a good coach too.
 4.
Spoon bill - I'm not fighting with anyone I merrily asked a question!! I know your the ignorant one that posted the comment just so happened "PAT" agreed with you!! That's what's sad!!! Jealousy is a ugly trait, I have nothing to be jealous about.... I don't even have a kid on the team!  I seen all three games as well. You might want to get your eyes checked.
well, at least you're happy ;D
 5. geez...sportsfan has a few screws loose...reading way too much into this...fighting with your own fans is really gonna help a lot. i'm the one that stated that i felt that gcm wouldn't have won the series without martinez, and i'll stick by that. i watched all three games and that's my opinion. does that mean he is the only reason they won?...no...duh...get a grip. u should appreciate compliments for any kid on your TEAM, if you are truly behind the whole TEAM. it sounds like there is some jealousy going on here...that's just sad...btw good luck in your future games this year.
 6. with that many dingers, you gotta figure at least half were legit.
He pitched 3 innings on Saturday to pick up the save.
you could tell he was cheezed when he came in the game on saturday, but gutted out the win. i thought the pirates may have been able to do something against him, but he toughed it out. imo, gcm wouldn't have won the series without him. good luck.

Plus offspeed. That is why they lost to Vidor the one game. They threw their offspeed lefty...(idk the name) and shut them down. same concept. Grayhole and Eagles close it out tonight!
probably can't remember his name because no left handed pitcher pitched for vidor when they beat nederland. armstrong, foshee, and maxwell were the only kids that pitched for vidor in that game. also, i wouldn't say they shut them down...the score was 7-5. it looks like maybe you haven't kept up with nederland all season. i believe it had more to do with the kids being a little down when they realized their top two pitchers all season might not get to pitch in the playoffs. i predict they do much better in the next game offensively. one thing i did find in common with both games were the errors committed by nederland....that's not likely to happen again.
No i havent. i thought Vidors ace through against nederland the second game. sorry for false information. And it is playoff time. They have to focus in and play the game. Whatever BH coach saw did a great job. Enough to hold Ned power house to 2 hits. errors or not Ned still lost the game without them. they had 2 unearned runs. 3-2 final without errors.
this i can agree with...you hold a team to 2 hits, you will probably win..if the bats don't come alive, they will be watching from the stands...same for the pirates...not a good time to go into a slump at the plate.

 10. vidor: hagler (enough said), maxwell (ditto), mojica for defense, most hbp, and ob%, stevenson (frosh catcher) newcomer, honorable mention kennon (clutch) and olbrich (clutch)

 12. i'm wondering why this is such a big deal with the field. had lee's coaches never been to the field before the game? they wanted the one game series which, in turn, made the game be at lcm's field. i'm sure they knew what they were getting into and decided it was what they wanted. kinda dumb to whine about it after the fact. sometimes you get what you ask for. sounds like a great game between two very good teams. live by the sword, die by the sword. i'm sure lee's coaches aren't whining about the field.
I see that vidors catcher is a freshman how has he does this year with the bat and fielding; is he starting because of someone got hurt or has he been the starter all year?
from what i've been told, he has earned the starting nod recently by his play on the field. both starting catchers this year have been very good. three freshman players played in the play in game on saturday. you wouldn't know any of the three were freshman unless you were told so.
 15. he's lucky they were pulled in...that's usually a double play ball...but, i'll take it.
 16. here is a pretty good story about the walk off homer...sounds like a great kid. [Hidden Content]
 17.
I'm sure he was thinking, "I'm up 12-0, maybe I can get another kid a little experience".  He might even have thought, "it's just a JV game and there is no real championship here, and no playoff implications".    He probably even thought," even if we give up a few, this high powered team will score plenty more".   The negativity over a jv game THAT YOU WON, is amazing.
i'm not amazed at all....it IS nederland...hundreds and hundreds of all-star sideline coaches over there.
 18. at least it didn't happen in the middle of the season. both should be able to redshirt and not lose a year of eligibility. i didn't think it sounded very good from the article over the weekend.
arkansas is suppose to have a top ten class coming in.
that's what i was talking about...i hope they all still come...i hope they all feel like their game fits the new coaches style of bball.

 22. someone needs to update vidor's number...i'm pretty sure peno and olbrich have 2 each with hagler and hester 1 each. can someone verify this?

There was a play at second base that Vidor fans thought was a terrible call. The aftermath of the call was a coach getting ejected, Green getting confined to the dugout, the announcer being bashed by the Nederland fans and the guy working the clock being censored by the district.  Well the tables are turned, the police had to escort the umpires off the field last night because several Nederland fans threading the home plate umpire and a guy who we all know has a player on the Nederland team telling the home plate umpire that he was going to wait for him in the parking lot. WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE OVER HOW SOME OF THE NEDERLAND FAN ACTED LAST NIGHT?
If the Ned fans were mad... I wouldn't know about what? The plate umps strike zone was tight but it was tight for both teams..The only bad calls I saw both went against Vidor....The force out at 2nd early in the game and the foul tip on the 3rd strike that the plate ump didn't here but everyone else did. I did not see any irrate Ned fans after the game.
Was the foul tip on the third strike that you refer to caught by the catcher or missed by the catcher?
People would not have been mad if he had caught it... ;)
duh...lol :D
