This is the End For Rollover Pass.
tvc184 replied to bullets13's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Why should the feds build anything as a compromise? I am not against piers being built but a compromise after the fact seems ridiculous. The closing of the pass is a done deal that is already funded. This seems like guaranteeing a man free healthcare after he is executed as a compromise. In other words, it is a bit late to be wanting to negotiate or to reach some sort of give and take. What is up with the blue crabs? I have seen more crabs around the Sabine area than I have in a few years. -

If your brother's pond is completely on private property, fish away. For catfish in public waters the daily bag limit is: Blue and Channel Cats - 12 inches and 25 total between the two. For Flathead Cats (Opelousas or just Op) - 18 inches and five total. -

You are definitely correct about the possession limits and not having a license. If you have fish then you either need a license with no more than the possession limit OR a note from the person that caught the fish listing the person's name, fishing license number (I think), the number of fish and the date they were caught. I know at least for saltwater fish, you need a fishing license to even arrive at a dock with fish or other aquatic life on board whether you were seen fishing or not. That even applies to freshwater that is used as an estuary for spawning of saltwater species. This would be the Neches River up toward Beaumont and Bessie Heights, etc. -
Bru, that would be medics in the plural form...one wasn't enough on that night. That was some devastating hits when we can remember them years later.

TVC would be better to answer this than me....but here goes........... I think on private property you do not need a fishing license. The code does say public waters. However, if you transport those fish on a public road and happen to get pulled over by game warden, then you might end up in a bind......... That is correct. If the water is completely private, then no license needed. That means that it has to be completely surrounded by private property. Any contact with public property (like maybe one side of the pond runs along a public roadway) and a license is needed, even if the water is on private property. There are also no rules on size and bag limits on private property. There is a caveat to that law. If the completely private property pond is subject to flooding from a river or stream in the state, then the water is not considered private because fish from the public waterway can get into the pond. Any fish in the pond then belong to the people of the state and it requires a license. That does not apply to a majority of cases. Just a note, hunting on private property (including property that you live on) does require a license, unlike fishing. -
I saw her today on two different networks. She is still a headline grabber. For now, but sometimes that's not a good thing! Kills time in the news while they try to think up what else they can make into a news story.

Not disagreeing but then you will have people that say the compliance officer is targeting certain students. If it is truly random, then everyone stands the same chance and no one is singled out. Start pointing out problem students and watch the sparks fly. -

Good man. There is hope! -
I can understand the problem but polls are what they are, simply someone's opinion. The person(s)/group putting out the poll can do whatever and however they want. It is only for discussions. With the local polls on setxsports.com, there are only so many teams per division. You could make the top 2 in the Golden Triangle 5A poll simply because there aren't any other teams. For that reason, sextsports combines some divisions. So what? Rebel simply needs to jump into the discussions on why he thinks his team should be rated higher, which is the whole intent of polls to begin with.

I am just guessing from the way other laws are proven, if you take absolutely no part in the fishing or crabbing then you won't need a license. That means, you don't bait the hook, you don't help them with the net, etc. In other words, if you are just the taxi, it would probably be okay. The first time you touched a fishing pole, crab line or net, you would be fishing. This is the law on the requirement to have a license: Sec. 46.001. PROHIBITED ACTS. No person may fish in the public water of this state, or unload in this state fish or other aquatic life taken for sporting purposes from waters managed by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council established under the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 (16 U.S.C. Section 1801 et seq.), unless he has acquired a fishing license issued under this subchapter, except as provided by Sections 46.0012 and 46.002. The commission by rule may prescribe requirements relating to possessing a license required by this subchapter. -

Nederland vs. WOS Week 0 Prediction?
tvc184 replied to smitty's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
That's all true but in the 6 wins that Nederland has over WO-S in three decades, 5 have come under Neumann and three of the loses have been by 5 points or less. It hasn't come quite as easy in the last few years. -

If you have the freshwater license already, the stamp is $10 for saltwater. If you buy them as a package deal, the "All Water Package" is $38 total. I think it is up for renewal August 31st. -
I notice that when you quoted the statement and compared BO to Frederick Douglass, you left off the part about "a nice-looking guy".

Something like you are doing now? Nope. I never called him a racist and I didn't bring up the topic or the states. I simply responded to a post that was already tossed out there.
-
Racist because Obama doesn't know how many states we have? Then he coincidently gives the number of Islamic states in the OIC...... Probably just a gaffe. Who knows where the number 57 came from.. that just happened to match the number of the OIC. But racist? If Bush or Palin would have said that there were 57 states, the left/liberal/Democrats would still be talking about it.

Maybe he is or maybe he isn't. He is almost certainly more educated if that matters. Here are some questions. Does intelligence make a person right in political decisions? If a test is given and it is discovered that I have a higher IQ than others on this board, does that invalidate their political arguments? Should the presidency be determined by IQ if it really matters? If so, let's just give a test and pick the smartest man/woman. Does education really matter? My brother has 4 college degrees, 2 bachelors and 2 masters. He is working on his 3rd masters. I would venture to guess that he is way more educated and probably has a lot higher IQ than Palin, Obama, McCain or Biden. I wonder if my brother should be the next President of the United States.
-
From a politician, yes that is what you do. It is the smart strategy. If I was running for office, I wouldn't give my opponent any ammunition to use against me and would highlight my strong points while attacking his weak ones. I don't think anyone in this forum is running for office though.
-
Good, a point of agreement. I just think it is bad in political arguments to make statements about the other party's candidate that very well might apply to your own. You may not have done so but others certainly have. It is like my old argument about war records. When Bob Dole ran against Bill Clinton, the Democrats thought that a true war hero meant nothing. Fast forward a few years and when it is John Kerry against George Bush, all of a sudden the war record is of utmost importance. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Glad to see you believe that debating skills have nothing to do with intelligence. The thought of the premise is absurd. Some of the most intelligent people in history may have been lousy debaters. Some of the best debaters have probably been of fairly low intelligence. One is a skill, one is knowledge. As far as the speaking skills, as you said, it does not equate to intelligence or the lack thereof. The point is, many (if not most) Democrats love to point at the debating skills of Palin. If you have ever heard Obama speak off the cuff, he sounds like a buffoon. The guy sometimes makes Bush look like a great orator. That doesn't make Obama wrong but by the same token, it doesn't make Palin wrong either. Obama and Palin are very similar in that both can give a great speech when it is written in front of them (by someone else) and stumble when it is unprepared. As far as Palin being the Veep, look at Biden's speaking skills. The guy is almost a laugh a minute when he utters something. Apparently speaking skills and intelligent though aren't requisites from the Democratic Veep.
-
Do you honestly think that the ability to debate makes a person intelligent? Do you honestly think that not having good debating skills means that someone is lacking in intelligence? I would like to see how well some of the Democrats in this forum do in a debate. Apparently that is the only sign of intelligence that matters. From reading many of these posts, I think that it would be a tough sell.
