Make it about 25 years ago.  I'm tempted to think you are pulling my leg, so to speak, but you might be young and uninformed about Willowridge's rich sports history in basketball and in football.

One of these seasons LaGrange is going to rise up. Not this season though.

Those early non district wins & loses are good indicators of what kind of team it is and how the team will respond later in the playoffs.

Silsbee used to run the 409 back in the day.  I also remember some 30 pt blowouts handed to them by Central.  But as has been stated it's been a minute.

I say this all the time in private. I don't post it here cause I don't want to be critical or hurt feelings. But yes, Dre is the dog on this team, and has been since the class of '24 started playing varsity, as freshman.  If he plays this year they will rally behind him and maybe make it to regional, maybe even win it.   If he doesn't play they may bow out of the playoffs early.  IJS.

I’ve been traveling to & visiting Ft Worth for several decades, since I got married in 1989.  We would drive up there 5 or 6 times a year to check on the in-laws and to worship at the grace temple sda church in East Ft Worth.  The fact that they had a very talented but then unknown choir director named Kirk Franklin had something to do with it.

I was shown where Dunbar HS was located but I never heard of Eastern Hills.  So I was in East funky town a lot. I heard of that school but I really wasn’t up there for high school sporting events.

Glenn Bishop who plays for Stafford, I hear he is good.  I would lie and say he is a cousin, being my last name is Bishop as well.  Far as I know we are not related.

How does a 4A div 2 school fortuitously come up with a D1 size front 7 and a comparable defensive back field? 

Deion's schtick would not play well in College Station.

I discuss the scrimmage with the basketball dad a couple doors down. His son plays for Westfield.  I guess this is his 2nd go round & his ex lives out there.  Westfield is not close by.   Eisenhower is down the street but that school has a thuggish reputation.  Jersey village is cool, but they don't move the needle in terms of sports.

I am just now seeing this. I was always arguing on this board. So I left.  Hagar and I always butted heads.  We did agree on some sports takes.  It wasn't personal.  I hate to hear he is gone, and also his wife.  Condolences to his family and friends.

Oops, mistook Cole Anthony for Anthony Black.  My bad.  No wonder that shot looked good.

I am watching the Rockets season opener vs Orlando.  Anthony Black has gone from Duncanville, to Arkansas and now to the NBA.  He is hitting a consistent outside shot.   That should help his game a lot.

The Rockets, to me, seem to be missing KpJS (Kevin Porter. Jr) outside shooting and overall offense.  Jalen Green can't shoot.

FFA usually doesn't have a very deep bench.  They will have a very skilled 7 or 8. If a pressing teamn with a deep bench, in 4A state tourney in San Antonio, can get them tired, hit some shots..Gotta beware of how the refs are calling the game. In other words, anything is possible.

I am a big Jared fan, but if someone were to say McDermott is the #1 guy in region III I would not argue too much.

In 4A they got Stafford and Randall ahead of BT Washington?  Interesting.

This means one thing: the beginning of the boys high school season is near.

Schools like Cuero, Wimberly, Carthage etc, load and reload like a well maintained Army machine gun on the front line.  D-1 talent goes out the front door and more comes in the back door.  It has been like that for at least half a century.
