I heard Silsbee has a 6’3” qb transfer from San Antonio. What about him?

2017 would have a hard time winning “anything today”…. That’s a big reach
2017 is history, it is not going away. You can read up on ir on the UIL page.

That 2017 team was special. Devon is the best out of Silsbee.Againts Dallas Carter in that championship game he was rebounding, playing defense, making steals, throwing dimes, intercepting dimes, etc. And he had a star studded team with him: Bush, Adams, Martin, a host of others.
BTW beat FFA. Or was that BU? Maybe it was a fluke. Maybe not. Like Texas Hoops said, BTW is good, but I feel Silsbee is better. I think Miller will play, at least I hope so. If not there are some hungry kids on that team. Sooner or later some of them will step up. It happens on all teams every year.

I'd guess he had around 10 - 14 points. Had a nice steal or two. Also got completely steamrolled on a charge, but he was okay.
It would have been really easy for Silsbee to get discouraged and throw in the towel after that first half. They had to have been tired and these games don't really mean much. Nice job too keep fighting, and regardless of this game meaning much or not, it still feels good.
Play hard PJ but, don't get hurt. This thing is just getting started.

PJ had a lot to do with that. I can feel it.

They don't play till 1:25.
So Silsbee is playing Dallas Carter now?

Silsbee vs PInkston? Score?

Get by BTW, somebody catch FF slipping, and...this could be a 'ship' year.

TABC bases their rankings from the outcome of these games.

I have a hard time picking anyone but Braelon. But I also have never seen the older guys (MacArthur, Stallworth, etc) play so I’m definitely not qualified to vote. Of the guys in the last 15 years, Bush would be my pick but if this year’s team could win it, I might go Harris. Always was very partial to McCain. His game against Carter for all the marbles was one for the ages. But for a similar performance by Bush against Yates, I might even have Devon up top. But Bush’s career numbers would have to make him my choice from the recent guys.
Valid points IMO.

Played against both of them also they had Joe Willie Price on their team they were really good this was in 71 the year before Manning and Brannon led Kountze to the state championship also had a McDaniel on that team that could leap out of the gym.
Michael Dabney didn't play varsity until he was a sophomore in 1973. He could have and probably should have played on that 1972 team as a freshman. Maybe they didn't allow freshmen to play then. I don't know.

They were the stars of the Kountze 1969-70 championship team.

For Silsbee, if you had to debate it would be Darrell McArthur, Bre Bush, Devin McCain,, Chris Miller, DC Stallworth, and Thad Holden. You could also debate Jared Harris, Jordyn Adams, and Damon Bush. Silsbee is one of few schools that it seems like every few years has a dominate hoops player. There are about 15 guys I left off that would be the best player ever on many local schools like Chris Martin, Lewis Arline, Shannon Robinson, Chris Elam, and James Hunter.
David Brown, Michael Dabney.
David Brown was 6'8", HS all American. He played in the NCAA final four for Memphis. May he RIP.
David Brown was good friends with James Hunter. Both were class of 1972. Michael Dabney was class of 1975.

Before he blew out his knee Michael Dabney was the best I've seen play for Silsbee. I wish there was film to prove my point.
I was at a recent thanksgiving showcase at a gym on Houston Episcopal high school. I was watching BU play somebody. I was talking to this old PA Lincoln player. I was telling him about the great PA Lincoln teams, and players. He quickly shot right back "man but that Michael Dabney for Silsbee was a beast!"
True story..

That was as textbook of a box out as I’ve ever seen. Completely dumbfounded by that call.
That ref got paid.

Wow the Zags. That’s why I don’t bet.

If a team or a coach knows how to manipulate the transfer portal and cherry pick key players from here and there, that college program can get to the final four in a little of no time.
I’m not saying that is bad thing or a good thing. I’m saying that is the reality of the situation.

I mentioned this game before.
Back when Kendrick Perkins was like a sophomore at Ozen they played a NYC Harlem team named NY Rice. The game was at MO Campell.
That team was short, about Nowell's height. They might have had one or two 6'1s. They all played like the pg for Kansas State. They put on a clinic, made Ozen look silly.

Nowell and Ismael Massed for K State.
