KOGT has been the only pipeline of local news with weekly visits with the judge, LIT Orange, county and city meeting minutes, police reports, local business promotions, charitable events, etc. Dang, as I’m listing them its becoming more evident that Orange County will hurt without KOGT.
Furthermore, KOGT promoted many school events other than football. They broadcast, baseball, basketball, softball as well. These are programs that attract less attendance but still attracted a radio audience.
It won’t take long after their closing to realize the true impact.
Very very true. It won’t take long at all!

I don’t see a HC leaving a program like Desoto to come coach WOS
I don’t either. But an assistant possibly.
-
Well if it is Desoto they are a 6A school in a tough district. Went 11-3 this season.
-
I keep hearing rumor around town that a coach from the DFW area has applied? Anyone know about this? Who or from where?
-
I’ve no dog in this fight either, but do have a close friend and graduate of PNG along with all of his kids and was told by this friend that PNG always likes to do things and sweep them under the rug. In other words, on the surface to everyone else they want it to seem everything is squeaky clean but in reality theirs a lot of back stabbing and politics going on. Said it’s been that way forever. Again just what I’ve been told and could Possibly be that way in many districts across the state.

Well…. if he isn’t given a chance or looked at they’re not doing their due diligence. I believe his resume speaks for itself. It would be pretty pathetic if he’s not looked at because of the color of his skin. Then again he may not want the position if there’s a lot of unnecessary BS that he would have to deal with.
Your last sentence could very well speak volumes.

I'm just saying... a program and fanbase that states they love and care of Foreman... he even stated how much he loves Orange and the program himself... But they went with a coach that was at the time 61 years old over a young, firey and enthusiastic young Coach in Toby. They didn't think much of him back then. Just saying, Since he is in a way better situation now, I figured the logical thing to do would be to stay put. But I guess it's good to have a short memory or easily forgive. To each their own.
I understand the point your making but back then that 61 year old coach had been the backbone of the Mustang program especially the defense on which we’ve hung our hat on for many years. (Decades actually). At that time he was the most deserving and obvious choice even over a young, fiery and energetic coach (but one without any HC experience at the time). It was simply Coach Ts time. Now it’s Tobys time. He’s now the most deserving and obvious choice if he so chooses. I believe the community wants him, the question is does the superintendent want him? For the good of the Mustang dynasty I hope he does.
-
How long has this superintendent been there? Does he realize that the popular choice would be Toby if he applies? Nothing against the coach from Silsbee (or to anyone else) but who better to understand the Mustang way than someone who grew up in the program, played for the program and who’s dad was instrumental in getting the program established? If he wants it the choice is pretty obvious. Any other decision is just the superintendent using personal reasons for the selection.

Well, he definitely has a point. Makes you wonder what we could do if we got it all cleaned up.
Exactly. So far they been able to overcome them all season, but at some point they will play someone where they need every yard, and every score and can’t afford to have those mistakes. That could be this week.
-
All those miscues are very irritating. Untimely penalties and high or bad snaps. Luckily they been able to overcome them all season.

Prayers for the family...

Doesn’t the job posting end on the 31st? And if so how soon after that can they publish the list of names of those that applied?
