Tonight was the first PPV I haven't ordered in quite some time, and I hate that I missed it... His character is one of the hottest in the WWE right now, and I could see this being a lengthy title run... Although now in the WWE they consider a month or two to be lengthy!!!!

If you were at the game bruiser, then you must not have been watching, because your analysis of Stump is ridiculous.... Look at the numbers.... The kid did not have a bad game... That Katy defense was as good as he will EVER play against, and I can't fault him for that.... You talk about the fact he was stopped for a loss, how about because the offensive line was overmatched, as well as the rest of the offense.... Once again, you can't fault anyone on the West Brook side for that.... Those kids from Katy are just that good.... Now, what you are doing is bashing a high school kid, saying that it's daddy ball, and once again like the rest of the misplaced comments on this board, referring to the idea that he is only quarterback and get's off without criticism from the coaches because he is the coach's son.... So unfair for you to say that about a kid who has played pretty dang well so far this season.... I hope that you lay down tonight and feel good about yourself....

No I don't think they were a fluke... But I don't think the big play is ever in the game plan lol.... They happen, but you can't count on them, know what I mean?

I agree that the offense was better against West Brook, but they couldn't get by playing that way in district.... They finished a couple more drives in that one, but they had Mitchell to thank for two 50+ yard TD runs....

Well I am one of the pollsters and I can tell you that I look at records, who beat who, strength of schedule and factors that are on the field.... I have not placed a team in the poll or left them out of the poll based on name recognition.... There are teams I feel should be included who are not, and there are teams we have ranked that maybe should not be.... It's like college football, you will always have questions about who voted for who, and why that team got ranked higher than so and so....

I don't care to get into AAW highlighting stuff about WO-S or any of that.... But I would like to say that bashing Coach Thompson for checking the box is ridiculous... I have never met Coach Thompson, and have never had any ties to WO-S.... But this is a man who felt like what he answered was the truth, or he wouldn't have checked the box... As far as Redd telling a classmate that he was moving to play football at West Brook, I'm not so sure that you can really believe that or go by that or even consider it... If you've never been in a high school locker room or field house, there are tons of things said in there that are unbelievable, as well as high school kids and their ability to stretch a story or leave out important details! I had a discussion with a coach here in Rusk where I live about this same waiver as a kid had transferred out and in and back out.... They said that the list of questions are simple, asking a coach their OPINION... Coaches don't want to have to go to Austin.... Don't think for a second that Coach Thompson made this decision thinking "Yeah, we'll go to Austin during the week of the Jasper game while we're 0-2 and I need to be at practice".... This had to be a bother for ALL involved.... It doesn't matter whether we think he moved for athletic purposes or not, the UIL says he didn't.... I'm happy the young man won't miss an entire season, he's already missed three games that he'll never get back!!!

This sounds to me like the biggest reason Kountze is looking good early on.... 90% of basketball players at a school like Kountze are good athletes.... Adding 10 good athletes to a 2A football team is amazing.... I'm pulling for these guys, love the story... Glad to see a new coach energizing the program and a coach like the basketball coach encouraging his players to join the football team.... And on a side note, I LOVE the Kountze helmets.... Not sure there is a sweeter one!!!!

Man, I'm from Rusk, just south of Jacksonville, and I remember all of the classic Jacksonville playoff games, including the PNG game... Am I mistaken, or did they play in non-district at one time???

This has been a pretty fun thread to read through.... My two cents (for what it's worth)..... Vidor NEEDS to win this game.... Not only because they want to start 20-4A with a win against a pre-season favorite for a playoff spot, but because they need to back up their 3-0 start with a meaningful win.... No disrespect to Texas High, no disrespect to Bridge City and no disrespect to Kirbyville.... But those games mean nothing.... Those wins mean nothing.... If you go winless in district or miss the playoffs, who cares????? Vidor HAS to have a win, or anyone not associated with the school will continue to consider them as a non-serious contender....  Vidor fans, if you don't like people talking about the meltdowns in district play, then you have to give them a reason to shut up.... Nederland can really make a statement in this one as well.... The loss to Barbers Hill really shook some heads (I think so anyway).... Nederland can re-establish themselves as a threat to the crown by knocking off the team that has slowly become one of the SETX darlings with their 3-0 start.... Whatever happens, when this game ends next Friday night.... If Nederland is victorious, don't be alarmed by the loud thump you hear.... It's only the sound that lots of people jumping off of a bandwagon makes!!!

I think it's funny though that everyone kind of freaked out about the offense in the first two games, but it wasn't like they played a weak sister in either week.... This offense is going to be just fine once district starts and will find themselves in the playoffs....

I would find it highly unlikely that a college scout would come to a Hemphill/Buna game in Week 2 when the kid is just a sophomore... It's a little early for that lol....

Well technically, it can't get any smaller than Sabine Pass and Legacy, but if he wants to watch the best game, I'd have to say Kountze/West Hardin....

I think it will be high scoring, probably close to that 35-31 score you posted BrenhamFan, but I'm not ready to make my pick yet lol.... May not, I'll be broadcasting the game.... But I will say that I think this game will be an outstanding one if both teams show up ready to play!!!

I think Coldspring is the hands down favorite, no questions there.... But after that, who knows.... The rest seem to have question marks.... I like what Liberty has done, but will the keep it up? Cleveland seems to have question marks, and no one talks about Huffman a lot.... We'll see....

I've seen them the last two weeks as well, and this team has some potential.... Are they as loaded as they have been, probably not.... But I'm curious to see how the offense can perform against a tough Katy defense....
